Nice breakdown of HotJar. We're big fans of it too. Although one tiny issue we experience is its impact on page speed for our landing pages. We find ourselves using it only when we're running experiments, rather than having it as a continuous thing.
@@Mizko It's probably a "skin-feeling" type of thing... It's like being in the same person's room silently observing what they're doing... and they barely know you're there, ha.
The free plan gives you premium access for 14 days I believe. Then it caps the amount of data it tracks on your profile. They also limit your access to core features. Hotjar is definitely geared more towards SMEs and larger companies. Give it a try, see if you like it and if you do, see if your employer is happy to invest.
Hotjar is actually quite realistic for startups, but maybe less for an individual designer that's just starting out. It also doesn't make sense for an indivudal designer to use on it's own, as the value comes from long term use.
@@denniszenanywhere we can definitely go lower than that, would you like to share your email so that we can send you the first preview of the product and get your initial feedback. It will be super useful before our launch 🚀
Mizko is the best design youtuber on the planet
Complete noob to HotJar, I had no idea there are recordings?! How dope is that... what an insight
HotJar is a solid tool!
Hey Miz, could you shed a little light on how to compile a UX design case study for uploading on Behance or portfolio website? 🙏🏾
I just added it to my backlog of videos to film :)
@@Mizko alright, Miz, can't wait! 🤞🏾🙂

Love HotJar! Great vid 💪🏼
It's great indeed!
HotJar is my secret weapon. Can't even believe is legal
Haha! Because they track the user's details? I guess Google Analytics has been tracking that since 2005

Loved it! Thanks! :)
Thanks Thomas!
Hey miz, is the free plan enough to get the job done in terms of using hotjar to inform our design decisions?

@@Mizko oh nice, can you please suggest any tool that gears towards individuals or personal use rather than just SMEs alone?😃
Thx. Very useful information. It will be great to know what exactly decisions after analyzing will be successful
Supports mobiles also or only web?
Responsive views on mobile yes. Mobile apps, not right now.
Hi Mizko,
Are there any tool for view heat mapp on mobile application?
Thanks so much!
is it possible to use hotjar for UI screens designed on figma or does it have to be fully coded website ?
Nope, only for built and live websites.
What would you like to see on your figma design?
can hotjar be used for just for figma prottotype.. or html prototype ?
UXtweak also good
Haven't tried them yet!
Damn in 1 minute of this video I watched 4 ads. Great UX.
4 ads? I don’t think we can even have 4 ads on a video of this length. I also don’t place them, RUclips does.
@@Mizko Damn youtube. 2 unskippable at the start and 2 unskippable after 1 minute.
Tried Figma prototype with HJ ?
Hot jar is great but the pricing is too steep for any ab or ux testing you need to do. Unrealistic for startups or designers to use.

How much would you be willing to pay? I we are building something similar just trying to understand people's requirements
@@developerjas $20 perhaps?
