Thank you for posting this. We previously had a 2008 Highlander, those fob batteries are still working. Our 2018 fob is sending out low battery alerts already (2021). Glad to find you so easily, and thanks again.
Bro not only did you save me money but also my time! Appreciate you and this video!! Clear and concise instructions, ordered the batteries on Amazon came the very next day and within less then a minute I was able to switch out my 2018 Toyota highlanders Fob! THANKS AGAIN!!
Yes, thank you!! I am never completely sure how to open these key fobs. And now, you have helped me on two completely different cars/key fobs! And I really appreciate your videos!!! Thank you for posting these!!!
Thank you for a straight forward, easy to follow procedure! My fob was loaded with dust on the mating surfaces, solve with soft brush! Will forward you video to my automotive group! Good Job!
A super nice video here when you need it the most, thanks! 👍 Just in case someone is in a hurry with no screwdriver handy, you can simply use the key you have just pulled out and make sure you use it very gently to avoid any damage.😀
Thank you, your video was so helpful. It’s clear that I just watched ones and I was able to change my car key battery. Blessed be your ability to help others.
Thank you so much for simplifying the process. I'm getting on in years and tutorials like this allow me to still perform tasks that I'd have to ask for help to do.
Very clear instructions, thanks, but what you should add is to push t he release button on the left side only. I was pushing and pushing in the center and it wouldn't budge. Thanks.
This was so helpful. The car manual made is seem as if the battery would be visible once opened and it wasn't. I wasn't sure if I should move the circuit board. Thanks!!
@@rachelfleischmanbaskin8686 Yes, that also happened to me. When I opened the case the button and small spring that works with it dislodged. No warning that was something to be aware of.
Thanks for the video. I have a key fob for a 2015 Toyota Highlander and when it stopped working, I had the dealership replace the battery. During battery replacement, no antistatic wrist strap was used, and after battery replacement the key fob still would not work. Now I have one key fob with an old battery that works and one key fob with a new battery that does not. I opened both key fobs and switched batteries, but nothing changed. Could have something happened to one of the key fobs during battery replacement at the dealership while not using an antistatic wrist strap or any other antistatic process, which may have damaged the key fob circuit board?
Thanks for the video, it was very helpful, FWIW, my highlander's "key" has a flat-spade end that fit the opening great to snap the case open, and to lift the battery out with.
Thank you for this. My problem is that my key fob doesn't look like this and doesn't have a key part that is removable. I took my fob apart and all the little keys to push like lock, unlock, open back hatch and emergy.......all those keys fell off. Are there different kind of keys?
Hi, my FOB for my 2018 highlander does not have the "PUSH" Button on the side at all. This was original equipment from the dealer when I bought it new. It does have a little indentation like yours does. Should I just wiggle a little screwdriver in there to open the casing? Thank you so much!
Hi ,l still change the battery in the remote how your video but each time l start my toyota it s still there the message in the screen ( ⚠️ the battery remote key it's low )
CR2032 Coin Battery 🪙 you need: amzn.to/3GkOJnN
One of the best how tos I've seen in a long time. Perfect camera angle. Thanks again
I never had to replace it for 4+ years until now. Your demo is very clear, thanks.

This was perfect! And it saved me a half-hour trip to my car dealership to have this done! Thanks so much!

Yes, thank you!! I am never completely sure how to open these key fobs. And now, you have helped me on two completely different cars/key fobs! And I really appreciate your videos!!! Thank you for posting these!!!
Thanks, very helpful. I had very small screwdriver at hand so I wasn't able to open the case with it, but the actual car key did the trick.

Iused the physical key as the screwdriver to open the fob, and used my fingernail to remove the battery. Great vid.
Thank you, your video was so helpful. It’s clear that I just watched ones and I was able to change my car key battery.

Thanks! Just a heads-up, the key itself can be used in place of a screwdriver for both operations.
Just what I needed...simple and to the point. Major savings$$$. Thank you and much appreciated. 😊👍
The spring loaded button came out. I need to know how to get the spring back in!
Me too!
