As close to a perfect DIY video as there can be! GREAT job! I made a small gate for my lovely neighbor out of an old kiddy bed mattress frame I found in the street (ofc I washed it, sanded it, stained it and repeated a couple of times first). All I need now is to attach some wheels at the bottom to create some support, as it is in two 1.5 meter width parts which are too heavy to just let the hinges take the horizontal weight alone. This vid really helped with attaching the hinges to the frame element. TY!
Thanks for the tip at 1:47. Helped me sort out a problem with our gate that had been built by the developers of our estate. All sorted now. Works a dream.
Good explanatory video. With regards to those rebate bars. These aren't just to stop the gate swinging too far, they also stop anyone peeking through the gap between the gate and the frame, which is an important security feature. Rick
Is there any visual plans with measurements to carry this out? Like for instance the frame that you had built as the video starts after it is already in place.
Hi David, this video shows how to replace a garden gate. For more details on how to make and install the frame, please see the following link. I hope this helps 😊 bit.ly/3z8jjPB

Just watched the video, excellent as I'm about to get my new gate fitted
straight forward explanation. Just watch if your path slopes and test the door bottom doesn't ground at the highest part of slope
Excellent craftsmanship and Video. I especially like the frame you designed and built around the door.
