We have a lot of Aviation History and Heritage over a century here at Waddington and Lincolnshire we are proud of our links with the RAF as RAF LINCOLNSHIRE . The team are very much part of our city along with current and former serving personnell of the Armed forces that have or still call our City/ County Home.. Bomber county and Proud..
Sadly I remember them at Kemble 45yrs ago with the Gnat. I was a service engineer and used to regularly visit their hangers and mess. Shame so much has changed.
Scampton hadn't been a front line station since the retirement of the Vulcan there in 1981 so never received the upgraded war fighting facilities of stations like Marham, Honington, Wattisham, Leeming etc. Maintaining the unused hardened facilities at stations like Honington and Wattisham is definitely a wise move though, as well as other former airbases such as US bases at Bentwaters and Woodbridge as they still have dispersed shelters and hardened facilities in place along with runways.
I spent a quality week at RAF Marham about 25yrs ago. I banged OC PSF (I think that was her role) on the roof of the Station HQ building and OC Base Support (or something like that) in The Queens toilet in the Officers Mess. The joy of being a Royal Marine visiting a crab unit 🤣
I was brought up near Waddington. Lovely though the Red Arrows are it’s not the same as having a good heavy bomber roaring overhead whilst you’re out playing with your mates. That said do kids even play in the street these days?
Well 3 of those in China are ex BAE test pilots not RAF, so there's no issue there is there? It's not like they've been intimately involved in the development of the Typhoon is it?

stunning jets !
*Excellent*
All of them? Are the two left out allowed back in?
They should have kept there old airfield open in reserve we may need it at some point
We've got no aircraft to put there so it's not a drama.

@@timgee999 thanks
What ... all 7 of them ?
Beautifully subtle dig. Nice work.
And its 1 mins ago !!
Oh dear, he said 'EU'. The Red Arrows are not in the EU anymore.
No drinking and driving lads 👍
None training the Chinese then!!!

Not to far to move from their wives and mistresses then... :)
Looks like they can’t afford a real modern jet. Too bad
theres not really any need for a modern jet. like what else are they going to fly?
Why do they need a "real modern jet"?
End the Red Arrows and redistribute the funds to actual war fighting!
Sssshh, the Chief of the Air Staff doesn't like to think of the RAF actually fighting, it might offend someone.
@@JammyDodger45 so true. More fact
