@RabbitAndTheLabBestFriends First off, they obviously don't know that monkeys are not domesticated and should never be forced to be a pet. They don't seem to know that monkeys don't smile. That expression is a fear grimace, or sometimes it means aggression. But monkeys do not smile. They don't know that putting clothes on a monkey stunts muscle development. Every time you see a monkey wearing clothes, it's a big red flag. Clothes are for the viewer's entertainment so they can make more money off these poor creatures.
If they bought even one of these monkeys from one of the low lives who call themselves monkey breeders in Tennessee, they are supporting a horrific practice. Mother and baby grieve deeply when they're separated, and those breeders force a female monkey to suffer that trauma over and over until they're literally insane. This is a macaque mother whose baby died and she's still crying for it. ALL mother monkeys do this when their baby is taken, by humans or by death. It goes on for days if not weeks. Those monkeys they have? Unless the mother was killed, they all did this. It's not at all like taking a litter of puppies or kittens once they're weaned. Monkeys don't get weaned until they're a year, year and a half old. Males leave their mothers at ages 3 to 5, but females stay with their mothers for life. You should Also see the mothers fight to keep humans from taking their babies, and listen to the babies screaming in fear, desperately hanging onto their mothers as tightly as they can, only to be ripped out of their arms. The more I read and watch about monkeys, the more arrogant and selfish monkey owners look.
But anyway, listen to this mother’s cries, look at her face and see the desperation in her eyes because she can't find her baby.

It really takes special people to adapt their lives to suit monkeys. I know you said no more but have you ever checked to see how to establish a monkey sanctuary/rescue? You guys are so awesome with all the animals. That way you could have funding and help. I also understand just wanting to be a private family and keep it manageable with just your family. I just think you guys are great and the monkeys are very blessed to be in such a loving home.

The purpose of rescues and sanctuaries for monkeys is to get them used to living with their own kind and NOT with humans. These people would never qualify.
