If you could dive into bigger reactors that would be wonderful. There is so much obscure information on the different coolants that it’s difficult to find the optimal reactor size and type!
Huh, I've been wondering about this mod for long time now why it has so much downloads as it looked like another generic more ores mod, but I was wrong, there's much more to it than it seemed at first. Thanks for the guide!

Oooooh a video for this amazing mod! I do wanna know 1 thing tho: is the custom sticks like birch wood sticks a thing in 1.20.1? The reason why is a mod called Archipelago is about to have mod supports so I wanna know if those are a thing in 1.20.1

For years, I've favored Tinker's, but the mod author has decided to gradually nerf it into uselessness. Especially with the 1.18 version.

This!! I miss the days of easy autosmelt hammers. I never really liked the idea of constantly setting up an auto pour system, especially for metal tools. SG just does a great job of making it feel not as overpowered.

@@AlfredGGMC Nice tutorial indeed. We ended up playing "Another Quality Modpack 3". We've played quite a bit of different ones none of which had Silent Gear in it.
AQM3 has mods that create like super OP mobs and the curve of TiCo can't keep up with them. I just started (can give you the address if you like to try) and ended up trying to get to TiCo hammer/vein miner.. But as you say too complex to get something good out of it since the material is protected by Ubermobs :-) The modpack is quite new so has some hick-ups and balancing issues, but I'm guessing Silent Gear might get me going.
@@Anomynous I love how simple Silent Gear is. No need to mix crazy materials to wait 35 seconds for it to pour, etc. Just put it in a crafting table, and it's ready to go. Apparently the original mod is call Silent Gems, and adds a lot more features to it. Try making a Katana out of some graded materials, maybe it'll help!
@@AlfredGGMC It's simple in it's way it handles the creation process, but the mix and match of different materials is a bit of a hurdle, until i learn the traits that come with certain materials. I was already considering a katana, but first the armor will need to be on point.
Offer still stands I can give you access to my server if you want to have a try. It'll be up for 2 months (rented and pretty overkill hw for only 1 or 2 friends :-) ). We play chill, just exploring the mods, no pvp.
Hi, very helpful and well constructed video, helped me understand the mod better! Though, I have one question: I noticed that when you explaine how to use the salvager, you put a tool part made of two allthemodium and one crimson steel. I might have missed the part where you explain it, but I can't seem to create a tool part with different materials, like I can only create a pickaxe head using three diamonds but not using two diamonds and one emerald, or one diamond, one iron and one quartz etc. How did you mix the materials? Does it work only with some of them?
Edit: NEVERMIND I'm an idiot there is written in bright red "Mixing materials is diasbled by the config". Sorry!
I believe it depends on the pack, but in ATM6 you could mix materials as long as they were the same tier. Hope this helps and thank you for the kind words!

Can you do tetra and maybe even compare it with silgear (like power levels but also what sorts of packs would be better with silgear/silgems and what would be better in what kinds of modpack

Hello! thanks for the informative video, just a question I have, how do you coat stuff?? like how do you upgrade your diamond stuff into netherite because apparently no one knows because there are 0 answers only about it.
There is currently only one coating that I know of, and that's Netherite. You can make a coating blueprint then make a netherite coating, then add it to your tool. In silent gear, you don't really "upgrade" the tool to different tiers, but you can replace each part with a better one if you'd like. However, there are several upgrades you can do that can upgrade the mining level by using tip upgrades or even the coating. Hope this helps!

Stumbled across your channel yesterday. Already caught up on ATM8 and I'm about to go back and watch the ATM7 series. Is this video still relevant with ATM8? Seems like things have changed a bit
I always use Silent Gear tools up until I get Allthemodium, personally! Most of the same concepts are the same, except that making template boards is just combining flint with a log!

I love that starlight charger doesn't charge during the day, even though the most powerful star is beaming down all the energy. *There could be exceptional lore to explain it away, but there could also be someone under your bed.
could just not use yellow star energy might be exclusive to needing blue stars

Question: if you grade and charge a material does it required the same grade and charge to repair? Or can it use plain material?
I think you can just use the base material, but I'm not 100% sure.
@@AlfredGGMC I'll have to try it out. Makes sense if you need the charged material but would be nuts otherwise.

Heyyo! I'm actually the quest dev for ATM now! If you've recently updated, I have a Silent Gear section in the quest book that "kind of" explains it. Not much I can do without pictures.

Why the mod no version 1.16?
Ok so.. Im confused I wanna make a diamond sword but have it be repaired by cobble is that not possible?
The repair material needs to be the same tier as the main material used when building. Cobblestone cannot fix a Diamond Sword in this instance.
Repair kits dont need the identical material to work, just the correct tier of material.

Can these items be enchanted in atm7?
I want to say yes, but most tools/weapons aren't worth making with Silent Gear once you get AllTheModium ore/ingots. The bows are still really nice to make for ranged damage, though.
You can always enchant the ATM tools and weapons as well!
@@AlfredGGMC oh sick, also is there a list I can find anywhere on what the trait modifiers do? I'm mostly just trying to see what can make my weapons swing faster or if there's an enchantability trait, or a fortune trait

@@sobean7699 I'm not 100% sure, but just enchanting them will get you fortune and everything. I'm new to the whole combining and searching for enchantments lol

I had an idea for a series back in the day to make something along the lines of "How to survive 100 Days with mods" and would feature mods to help you survive it better. I only made this video, then scrapped the idea, but I do teach you how to use it!

I would love to, but it really depends on the pack you are playing with Silent Gear in it. There is an entire ritual for the best stuff in ATM6, so it's a little more difficult to fit in a mod guide video!

Good video very helpful but man it genuinely sounds like you have slowed down your audio in the video, setting it to 1.25 speed makes it sound like you're talking at a normal pace, do you genuinely talk this slowly lmao
