I’m late to this video and all the comments but I agree! I was going to get the ysl Lou Lou small but getting the Gucci instead! As I feel it’s more classic and so versatile!
I don't agree. A classic has to a staple to the fashion house for ten years before it can be called a classic. It doesn't mean the Marmont won't be. I definitely agree that most people do not buy a ton of bags, display them like a fashion house. I have fifteen bags, not on display and they all are rotated, loved and worn daily.
I don’t think you tubers are a good marker for what is a classic. You tube is all about the hype of the minute. It’s style is classic and it is a nicely made bag for sure.

This bag is still #1 on my wishlist! I love it. If I could change one thing it would be the heart on the back. I don’t hate it, but I don’t ❤️ it either (ha! See what I did there?😂). I don’t know if it will become a classic but I think it has a good chance. It’s so beautiful and has many timeless elements in its design that I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s still hot in another 5 years. Regardless of all that...I want it!! 😍 Thank you for the video. I know the price doesn’t necessarily compare to the chanel classic but damn the way this bag is designed and the looks of it is so classic-y and beautiful. To me, it’s the prettiest Gucci bag ever designed.

I actually like Gucci Marmont line bags.I own two of them ,however, I’m not into other “out there look “Gucci items.I feel that Mormont line has been introduced and featured often as “a trendy bag”by you tubers. It’s only because the line has not been around long enough relative to other lines.
I disagree with them because of its pattern. The silhouette of bag is certainly timeless and classic in my opinion. It’s not about whether the bag is hyped up or not when defining what is a classic.
The heart on the back of bag still throws me off but it’s ok.
I love my Gucci Mormont own the one your showing in the medium size. I also own two minis black & cream. This bag isn’t going any where a classic, beautiful! (In my eyes) I own the soho but I prefer the flap marmont style better. I enjoy them all equally. Excellent Craftsmanship..Gorgeous!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️
Social media is very fickle. It’s often about the next bag. I use mine a lot and I don’t really care about trends too much. Lol just bought the Soho bag- years behind that trend! 🤣
I honestly don't think the Soho Disco has fallen out of trend. I still see it featured a lot in social media posts. So as fickle as social media can be, it says a lot about the Soho Disco that it's still a well-loved bag after so many years.

I think its a classic bag!! it has a flap opening and you can wear this bag in different ways, single or double straps and even crossbody. ❤ The nude pink / dusty pink color also make this bag even more classic.

I prefer this bag to the Soho. I don’t know. For me it’s more stylish. Probably because of the chain strap.
I don't wear Gucci but think the Soho is definitely more stylish. The Marmont always looks like pvc when I see it. whereas the Soho leather looks nice but in feels even nicer. I was quite impressed and surprised with feel of the Soho leather.

I decided to buy the soho disco 2 years ago and I’m glad I did. It’s more casual and fits my lifestyle perfectly.
It’s definitely a Classic piece it has clean lines and elegant design without looking trying too hard .
I’ve bought a tons of luxury bags over 20 years and now I know which bag would match with my outfits whether it’s sporty casual and elegant outfits .

I think the Soho is more trendy with its casual style. I was never a fan of Gucci but I love this bag! I have the gg marmont in mini size (not the super mini) and absolutely love it. It's simple, kind of a statement and practical. The form itself is very classic. So hopefully even if it does turn out to not be a "classic" bag, it won't be a very weird bag to carry around in the next 10+ years :)

Gemini Ash mines has tarnished don’t get me wrong I’ve used it nearly 4 years but it does tarnish and the corners do scuff

It has held up surprisingly well compared to other Gucci marmont bags that I’ve seen around the same age. And I totally agree that i see the Gucci Soho Disco way more on Instagram at this point so I think that bag would be more of a classic than the marmont

Since it is more on the neutral side, it works with majority of colors.. I have this bag and it's great

I do think this bag will last. I feel it lends itself to the more casual side of luxury bags and that’s needed. Especially being it has a heart on the back. Influencers are a bad barometer of what is a classic in my opinion They can only be an influencer if they hype the next thing. It’s the nature of the game.

This is a flap bag, which is a classic style. But I am not a fan of the half leather / chain strap... same for Dior diorama and Chanel boy..

I had a Louie Vuitton speedy 30. And I am so disappointed with its hardware because the gold plated metal wears off. And knowing that I took much care of my bag.
NJ Prime I dislike this bag a lot but I have to agree about LV and state that I have never seen a Marmont with worn or tarnished hardware. The truth is the truth.
The Gucci website just says gold-toned hardware so I can’t say exactly what metal it’s made from. I haven’t noticed any of the gold fading. However, the chain is antiqued so it would show any aging gracefully.

In terms of trendy of classic? Considering how long it's been around and it's still a well- loved design, I think it's on its way to becoming an iconic handbag for Gucci. Like the Marmont though, only time will tell.

I was caught in the rain for literally less than 2 mins whilst running to my car from a mall in the summer, wearing a red dress AND HAD HORRIBLE RED COLOUR TRANSFER!! I was so devastated, it took me 2/3 weeks of multiple cleaning to get it off. I had stain/rain protector spray already on it. Now I'm so scared to use it, kinda disheartening after investing so much

I'm torn between the Gucci marmont bag or YSL loulou bag. The only deal breaker would be that the Gucci marmont opening flap constantly reminds me of a condom or a dangling penis which bugs the heck out of me!!
In my opinion the soho disco bag is so boring and really it’s not worth paying that amount of money it’s too small and square i don’t think after 20 or 30 years when I’m 50 or something I would be carrying a small bag like that
The Soho is a camera bag. Hence, the size. It's a more casual piece you can use for days out. Nice for festivals, Disneyland rides, sightseeing, a nice travel bag. The leather is quite impressive too. I would call it more subtle than boring which some outfits need. A less busy bag that allows you to let other elements of an outfit shine or be the main focus. I don't wear Gucci but I feel a camera bag is a staple within a handbag collection. I feel it's really about the outfit and styling. It's what fits rather than shoehorning an item into an outfit because you want to wear it. It has to resonate and with the theme. The subtle design means you can wear it old or young with Air Force One high tops, a vest and ripped skinny jeans or Gucci loafers and a Balmain blazer. Just my humble opinion.
