This a petition for a Tim and Bless show called internet explorers. I would love that
I could see a Castlevania-type animated show working pretty well for Elden Ring.
That’s the style that came to my mind too
100% this
For me exploration IS Elden Ring. What’s behind the next corner? What monstrosities lurk in the next dungeon? Everyone has there reasons to play a game but I think Elena’s Rings true highlight is its open world design.
I wish more people would talk about that. These environments are fucking incredible and the way you find many of the hidden places is just so fun and rewarding. The exploration goes hand in hand with the bosses for me.
The Internet Explorer idea is so good and you should absolutely have people from Rooster Teeth (RIP) or anyother old-Internet people still working that are willing to be on it from time to time.
I personally want an adaptation of the Abysswalker storyline from Dark Souls 1...that shit would be incredible. But I get that ER has more mainstream cache as an IP...would love to see a proper dark fantasy production...I don't think we get enough of that.
I also had that SpongeBob but with a Puerto Rican flag on it 😂😂😂😂
Thumbnail is ironic because I'm stuck on that boss. Dude is an absolute unit.
Really needed Andy on this for the real indepth Elden Ring lore lol
THAT'S how you do the Roper Report dee-da-dees! Thank you, it's been throwing me off all week
I think this is being made out to be way more significant than it is. They didn’t make you stronger overall at all, they just changed the progression curve so early game is a bit easier but then levels 10-20 make you stronger much slower, evening out to be the same as before just with different pacing. The only exception is the very last blessing but even then they specifically said it’s only “slightly”.
This won’t affect the final boss at all like what Blessing was worried about, as reaching max blessing level while playing blind is incredibly difficult (need to find every last fragment) and even that last level buff increase is only slight according to the devs.
woe is me I have to watch movies for a living lol
Tone deaf comment
The main character for an Elden Ring TV show would either be Melina or Ranni I’d think
My fragments level is #11, and I have level up the traditional way only once, I'm level 292, and I get killed by regular enemy with 2-3 hits. And that's fine with me.
as a fellow Devil may cry fan, there probably won't be one for quite a while since the series director just finished work on Dragon's Dogma 2. This keeps coming up so I hope you read this lol.
Will yall be reviewing HOTD season 2?
The exploring is amazing in the shadow of erdtree
I think a good balance would be you get defensive bonuses from exploring and finding items and you get offensive bonuses for defeating bosses.
That's a really good idea
There is already an ongoing manga adaptation of Elden Ring. They took a satirical approach and it’s hilarious. Basically it gets a little meta. It shows the perspectives of all the characters watching the player character and being disillusioned. It’s of course at the perspective of the player character. The commentary from the other characters is pretty funny though.
Chris Pratt would be Patches
Chris Pratt could be the Jellyfish
Personally, I'm not having much fun with the bosses in the DLC so far, though I also felt this way about many base games bosses. They're just balanced to either be excessively punishing in solo or trivially easy with spirit summons. With past games like DS3 and Sekiro, you could usually trust that the bosses would be fairly balanced for solo play. While often difficult, they rarely felt insurmountable or unfair if you put in the time and effort to learn. Here though, it just doesn't feel worth the effort. They're a battle of attrition and require reaction times far beyond what's fun for me.
Thats what these journalists dont get. They arent better at the game than the players. The Journalists used spirit ashes and trivialized the game. Blessing is calling people babies here... but I bet he used Spirit ashes on every boss in the game and half the time they killed it for him.
@@BasketCase-rr7tx jesus y'all really are a bunch of babies
@@TheBLT883 not as much as someone who uses spirit ashes to make the game a cake walk and then calls the people who actually want a fair challenge babies.
Main game was no difference. Once you pass the lyendel everything starts to 1 shot you. Halig tree and farum azula is brutal. What I don't understand, if you manage to beat base game and had fun, you should have fun with dlc as well. It is same. Same game loop. But if you didn't enjoy the base game which is totally fine why you are buying the dlc to begin with.
@@hododod246 I think it’s more to do with the fact that the bosses in this dlc have insane attack patterns that go on for 15 minutes and are clearly designed to be fought with Spirit ashes. The main game wasn’t like that and spirit ashes made everything too easy, even Malenia. So they have gone from one extream to the other.
I could see an elden ring or any fromsoftware game working as an anime but live action? I don't know about that.
Live action might be very good, I mean excellent or unimaginably bad.
@@faisalmohamed328 yup
live action FX budget for practical & CG would be astronomical if done correctly. same for a Bloodborne film. quality animation house feels like a better option.
@@NF_Redux why not both?
I really like being called a number…
28:11 Ranni should be the main character or at least tell the story from her prospective. Because we don’t know how she looks before the shattering.
Good way to explain and explore the golden order to the audience. Explain what’s an empyrean is. Maybe end the 1st season with Radagan and and Rennala break up and the Carian children being welcomed into the Golden Order Family.
Lol Bless talking big sh*t like prime Deontay Wilder! Tell em bout themselves! TILL THIS DAY! Pre Patch Excellence! 🤣🤣🤣Andy and Barret talkin that talk too! That tweet was hilarious.
This whole conversation about elden ring, i can only laugh. It reminds me of modern fighting game players. They expect to get good without putting in the work and then scream "nerf".
All I'll say is welcome to my world 😅
The DMC series deserves the RE remake treatment 🙂↕️
Elden Ring’s difficulty is perfect 90% of the time. But then there is a boss that 2 shots you, has long weird cancelable combos and gives a sliver of an opening. Then it’s just dodge for 5 minutes and hope for a jump attack opportunity.
My biggest complaint is how often it seems like boss damage dealt is a percentage like, if im getting 2 shot at level 60 i shouldn't still be getting 2 shot at level 120. But often it feels like that.
That's why there are summons to distract aggro
Remaster: Same game mechanics and level design, updated graphics and presentation
Remake: A reimagining of the game, overhaul of gameplay and mechanics. Same story beats
Not true at all. For example Demons Souls was a remake, new engine, animations and assets, literally remade from the ground up, yet it was the same game as the original. A remake is something that is remade, a remaster is something that is remastered. It’s not rocket science, it’s literally in the name.
Make vyke the lead for the 1st half - and Messmer the lead in the second half
I am at Level 434 with 2.4million runes required to level up
Pretty sure you don't need anymore levels. This is just the set difficulty for your build.
@@DaRkLoRd-rc5yu I agree! thats why loosing runes dont grief me! I do not need to level at all.
All I got to say is I loved this game until I met Mr Bayle
15:47 I need 2.3 million runes for a single level. I haven't lvled up in days :(
At that point levels barely do much. Youll get a tiny bit more resistance not much else
THE SHIRTS ARE COMFORT COLORS OMG GOING TO BUY THEM NOW.
(I am team fat and the slim fit shirts never fit me right even in XL)
As a dad with a life, I wish they just allowed me to choose whatever difficulty I wanted to play on. Maybe then I would get to enjoy the world of Elden Ring. But I don’t have time to struggle for 5 hours on 1 boss.
Pre-update DLC will forever be known as "Journalist Mode" a true marker of greatness
Journalist mode was already in the game. They are called spirit ashes.
Not gonna lie I need some Ubi paint for the dlc. I’m getting fucking lost
If they want me to pronounce it as “Shadow” they need to spell it as “Shadow”.
I've founnda lot more then cookbooks
How much for a new show that’s just Tim and Bless going through everyone’s cringiest profile pictures 💰
I just helped my brother kill the guy with the crossbow he was jacked
Was just thinking about PS I Love You, and was wondering where's Janet been? Has she done any videos with KF since they axed PSILY and XCast?
She's not a part-timer anymore, I guess she's already busy enough with Minnmax and her own stuff
Until ne-
I had forgotten that Barret had committed to doing the DLC on an NG+(+?) character, props to him! That being said it's weird that he doesn't see a design difference in the encouraged but often very optional exploration of the base game vs the scadutree design, which definitely moves the needle more from encouraged to enforced. I think people are allowed to not be fans of that without being contradictory.
It feels at odds to me that Elden Ring is about getting good yet it also allows you to buff yourself up against a boss until you don’t have to be as good. I feel like Sekiro did a better job at giving you tools to experiment with but also making you rely on your own skill instead of just being power buffed
Difference of design philosophy. Sekiro is about the core system of the sword and parry, with little supplementals available to push yourself past that final hurdle via the tools and buffs. Elden Ring is about exploration and variety, with difficulty selection baked into the players core interactions with the world (do you go for ash’s and many spells or just pure sword and board it). Elden Ring really is not about getting good, it’s about finding a bunch of tools that makes fights easier while still allowing a subset of the audience to challenge themselves via not interacting with those mechanics.
Serkiro and experiment? There is one and single way to play Sekiro. You have to parry. There is no experiment and finding a workaround. Tools they give you help a little bit but they won't beat the boss for you.
@@hododod246 i hope you see that we are agreeing with each other
@@chrisbroad2689 that makes sense to me, and I guess it’s why I’m surprised there’s so much git gud discussion surrounding Elden Ring when it’s not really a game that seems to demand that.
I beat DLC today. Glad that I experienced hardest version before patch.
It's only a 5/10% difference I think
Tim is completely off base with his criticisms of Erdtree(which isnt surprising given he hasn't played it - but then why even criticise?). Of course exploration is a huge part of Elden Ring, and even moreso the DLC. The world map is even better than the main game imo, and how they use verticality is incredible. No idea who Tim was listening to regarding the exploration being poor or not a big part of the game.
Also regarding the cookbooks, its all linked to crafting. Many people don't use that aspect, but some do and it's a mechanic of the game, so that's why it's there. Personally i didn't craft much of outside of arrows in the base game, but they open it up alot more in the DLC and theres more weird shit you can craft with new pots etc, so I've found myself experimenting more.
Love Elden ring but so ready for sekiro 2 or bloodborne 2 so I can be aggressive again tired of dodge rolling lol
I want Chris Pratt as Patches
NoHo Hank from Barry!
To be fair while the Gaming Journalists may not have had guides to help with the DLC, many of them were on Discord channels with other people who were playing the DLC. They were trading strategies back and forth. Even KindaFunny were not playing this game in silence. They were taking to each other about where to go or how to beat certain bosses.
I like that there’s no trophies for this DLC. I find myself enjoying the content and exploring more not having to worry getting the trophy first and then after finding all of them first finally enjoying the content without worrying about missing any trophies.
I play like that anyway but trophies actually as a rough checklist to make sure I've not missed any content.
@@DaRkLoRd-rc5yu for me anything that’s not counted as a trophy I consider optional content because my OCD won’t allow me to not get them all before moving forward for games I care about.
It’s almost like it’s my way of showing respect to a game I like. It’s sick man.
They should have patched it and made it even harder just to fuck with all the whiney little children. Honestly the whole fun of Souls games is overcoming through exploration, some grinding if you prefer to and skill. If you take that away the take away half of the mystery and fun of the games.
It never should have been adjusted - performance issues, bugs, enemy hit boxes that needed some tidying up in certain areas yes it needed some of those but historically FromSoft DLC has always amped up the challenge and difficulty. What did everyone do when we started Elden Ring two years ago and came across the Tree Sentinel and Margit? We “GOT GUD” and that’s all we had to do. What I would have liked that they added was a photo mode because the scenery in a lot of areas is so beautiful and majestic!
The reaction to how you actually say the name of the fragments is such an american "no way other languages exist!"
This feels like a pretty good approach to lighten things up for Elden Ring. Yes people who've started their run with probably their main character might be screwed getting an advantage they didn't want. But we all know you nerds have multiple characters. You can just not level up, or not level up all the way and control how powerful you are so that it's the difficulty experience you want. I don't get why there are complaints about it being made a little easier in an optional way.
I think there are alot of ways to work in systems even opyional systems to make the game the experience each individual wants.
They make valid points but i can honestly say hearing them talk about souls games you can tell most of them have any idea what they are saying and they def arent getting fully through any souls game you can tell by the way they word shit you can tell they are just saying things they have heard elsewhere
Its only been less than 1 week, havnt even have the time to start the dlc and see all these youtubers/streamers/no life gamers complaining about the game~
Most of gamers like us will only complete the dlc few months later.....
Its funny to see people with no life fighting with people with no life LOL
They don't realize most people played elden ring with guides watching other people play and farming runes, they didn't play the game in it's intended fashion.
Wdym they didn’t it in the “intended fashion” Hidetaka Miyazaki has said time and time again that he designs these games with community in mind. Using guides and getting external help to play the game how you want IS the intention
@Cyborg_1612 the game is meant to be challenging and the player is meant to explore the world around. You are supposed to fail over and over but when that it mitigated by watching videos that tell you to just farm runes at x location and use "the best build" of course you will feel like the DLC is too hard. Yes, they intend for people to use guides and learn from the community, but a lot of people basically skipped the step of trial and error. And it's telling by the complaints, people don't want to explore and find the things to make you stronger, they just want to use the OP build they found on the internet and run through the game, and that's not it. And this is coming from someone who isn't a big fromsoft fan, and someone who isn't the best at the game.
Is scadutree not shadow tree😅🤷🏾♂️
To be fair. Blessing, Barrett and Andy most likely played with summons so the didn’t really experienced the difficulty
So you’re telling me the game is difficulty is tuned for people using the mechanics included in the game, and for people who do an optional challenge, the game is hard as fuck?
I’m a no summon gamer all the way, but i know full well that I’m putting this restriction on myself, not the game. The game should be hard as hell for folks like me
@@jacksonjabba I’m not complaining. I’m just saying, the game is obviously not as hard is your using summons, so it is indeed intended to be played that way. But the base game wasn’t that hard without summons, that’s why everyone else is complaining now
tim doesnt know shit holy crap.
What, about Elden Ring?? Who cares, not every game is for everyone. If you know him you know he's not an open world or Souls guy! They get super in the weeds with the discussions, he's just there to facilitate the discussion
@@calebbonebrake6486 Except he was offering up criticism which was way off base (regarding exploration etc.). Don't know where he heard that stuff but he was definitely speaking from a place of ignorance in that segment, rather than just facilitating conversation, as he did in the review
People who boast and take pride in playing difficult games are weird
They buffed the characters now people can stop crying about the dlc being difficult.😂
Casuals crying ruins games
Seriously wtf! I consider myself a casual and I’ve been doing ok so far! Just go slow, crouch, kill stuff from far away, cmon people sheesh!
Elden ring is going mainstream. They better not ruin other titles
Sorry everyone has a busy life 😆. Games should be fun and stress free
It wasn't casuals though
@@metalmoy7531 sorry, play another game. There’s a lot of games out there that are much easier that requires less time getting through. Simply leave this game as is for the community that enjoys it
They did this with base elden ring as well. Kinda disappointing
The problem with Elden ring is that there is a massive disparity between people who use summons and cheese builds vs those who decide to go solo. It’s almost like people are playing two different games. To be fair, it’s hard to balance the open world nature of Elden ring with the go where ever you want and the huge amounts of weapons and stuff. They can’t control for everything so it becomes really easy to cheese the game. With a mimic tear, I can beat most bosses within 1-4 tries because the mimic that’s all the aggro off you which really breaks the game.
Sekiro just felt a lot more carefully designed and purposeful. I hope fromsoft never goes open world again.
Most unnecessary update of all time. Just explore, you get the upgrades, game becomes very manageable (even without spirit ashes)
These guys are so in their own bubble that they dont realise that the issue here was nothing to do with players being worse at the game than jouranlists. Journalists finished this DLC using spirit ashes. The players complaining that the DLC is too hard are the purists who have been playing From Soft games since Demons Souls and refuse to use spirit ashes because they made the base game far too easy.
You could argue it isn’t purist who are getting mad. It’s the people who’s first souls game was Elden Ring / spirit ashes. They’re not use to the difficulty.
At the end of the day no one knows who’s getting mad. It isn’t a group of certain people it’s people of different flavors
@@joshuatealeaves We actually do know who’s getting mad by reading what has been said online. It’s long time souls fans who feel the boss design is poorly balanced. They don’t use spirit ashes because it made the base game too easy, but this DLC has been made with them in mind, which is why enemies have crazy 2 minute attack chains.
The problem is that souls fans want to beat bosses on their own, they don’t want to use spirit ashes.
@@BasketCase-rr7txYou’ve read what some people have said. I’ve read it too. But we haven’t read the complaints of thousands….upon thousands….upon thousands of people.
No one can pinpoint a specific group because it isn’t one group. So many different groups of people complaining. The only people who have answers is Fromsoftware sho can look at data. Data 🤤
@@joshuatealeaves The changes they made were because of steam reviews and Reddit posts, and yes, I have read them.
@@BasketCase-rr7tx I’ve read so many complaints left by people that didn’t specify their playstyle. Uhhhh so where do place those people? Are all of those people purist who don’t use ashes? You see where I’m going?
We just don’t know why everyone is complaining. That’s a very reasonable way to look at things. You’re speaking with authority as if you’re using a magic orb that has given you the definitive answer.
😵💫🔮
76,436 players have complained…
100% of them are purist…
I see the world in black & white…
Grey’s do not exist…
You don’t know the specific reason why everyone is complaining. Im going to be generous & say you read 200 complaints. There’s 20k negative reviews on Steam alone. That’s not even accounting for RUclips & other forums. But you’ve read all all of the complaints….oh wait magic orb my fault. Broooo there’s thousands of reviews left in other languages. You know what those people are saying too? Woah brother
We know nothing 😉
Damn. I really don't think FromSoft should've done this. Caving into people over the difficulty. People are beating it, so it's clearly not "too difficult". I don't understand the desire to not and explore and just one shot everything. I imagine it was no different when the Old Hunters was made for Bloodborne? I assume everyone was leveled up by the end of that game, but then were underleveled again for the expansion?
Jeez Blessing, you get paid extra every time you use the f-word or something?
the exploration in the dlc is awesome, it's reminiscent of dark souls 1 and 2 how everything is intertwined. It's like the vanilla elden ring map condensed and more connected with all these different looking areas and dungeons. cmon guys
