- The engine newbie wants to share a little information about how an amazing tool on board is produced.. Compressed air!
Let's check out how these Tanabe air compressors work in my way of imagining things!
Sorry about the bad drawings! My talents are sadly not in graphical design!😅😅
If you notice any Information that seems strange or if you would like to add anything, this shrimp of the engine room will be happy to read all comments!

A nice art bro
Haha its something to pass the time when Im in my cabin, Ill keep it up once again.

Thank you for your support my friend
Referring to the manual of the above-explained compressor states that the lubricator provides lube oil only for the first stage.
You are correct my friend!
muy bueno
i am new.
i like your videos. Up brother.
i would like to be with you one day.
pleased shared more videos about engine room. Thank a lot.
of course this is a long term project..i hope many other seafarers also share their adventrues..especially in the engine room.

Thank you amigo 😁
Simple n creative making it easy to understand..!!! can you please make a video on unloader operation and overhaul ???
Hello my friend sorry for not replying sometimes youtube doesn't show me all the comments, I realize this is an old comment however I have a clip of unloader disassembly and assembly, I'd like to explain how the control air opens the valve and closes it in the future.
Thanks brother ❤️
u r not just an engineer bro....ur an artist.....real great work
Hahaha thank you Abeer, I've heard that before but I just feel happy sharing knowledge!
Congrats buddy! I am brazilian and I just finished my cadet period and yet learning with you, thanks for the channel! Why did you stop uploading more videos ?
Heya bro, don't worry this is a long term project.. Some day this channel will have over a hundred videos full of engine room and maritime knowledge.. Step by step
I have watched all the episodes with excitement, when will the new season be released?😂 Thanks a lot and all the best wishes to the star “seafarer”
Haha well thank you very much Hakan! The new "season" will be when I my life is back on track with discipline and not so much paper work, but for sure this adventure is just starting. Hope to hear from you again seafarer!
Can u make video about central air cinditioning, principle, the compressor, how to charge the cooling liquid, and how it start and stop automatically
Ufff it's quite difficult since I'm not responsable for the equipment but yeah a theory video would be nice!
Iam waiting for your new episodes, thanks
I'll will take a while my friend I've been almost 7 months onboard as an officer in my first contract as 4th engineer
Cant wait until you join as 4th Engineer
Still got to finish a contract as Jr. Eng or like I say Cadet 2.0 haha.. However maybe in another company I could join as 4th directly.. Either way it will be a challenge! Success my friend

Waiting for your next masterpiece!!
Hi bro... Thanks for your informative videos, Make a video about Lube oil test plz...
Yeah that's a good idea.. I have some clips but I feel like something is missing.. Maybe when I get my ideas more clear.. Success and nothing else dude
Inspiring engineer, i need a lot of information about junior engineer responsibilities.
Yusuf Hanafiah Aspiring* Engineer amigo.. I'm still just an engine cadet, not yet an engineer.
Curiosity is key to learning and if you have that you'll step by step gain all the information you need.
I'll try to help with what little I can through these videos for anyone who also has that curiosity.
Shrimp to Shark but, you did much... And better than me as a junior engineer😅😅😅🤣😂
Don't think too much about now, we both have long journeys ahead bro.
As long as you are willing to learn new things everyday and stay calm to avoid making mistakes, then we will become sharks for sure.
Nc dude,, try to make a video about overhauling of MAIN AIR COMPRESSOR
One day it shall be my responsibility and gladly I'll share it, right now I have only some parts to showcase such as the unloader and cleaning of the special feather spring valves of the compressor.
Nice video bro haters gona hate let them hate people telling you to get more information on the topic should go ahead and make a video themselves rather than complaining about it.
Neelam thank you for your support and don't worry I take things my own pace, I am learning and sharing what little I know. Success and nothing else amigo
what are the problems all pumps, engine
try,& how what's are cleaning,
mainly how engine room floor clean.
why drain lines are not working. or not passing waters or liquid.
Troubleshooting is a never ending battle for all engineering operators and maintenance.
Bro I liked your videos. .Do you have any overhauling video of Tanabe compressor.. From disassembling to assembling??
I've done that for the first time now as an officer, as a cadet I would only do oil changes and valve cleaning but now as an officer a full overhaul however it was lots of work and it was difficult to film.. As I get more experience I'll film it better
I'm not sure sir if there are specific Air Compressors that produces a specific pressure. I think the 30 bar/7bar pressure is reached only in the Air Bottles with the help of the pressure switch, in which is set on 30bar or 7bar.
Atlas Copco BT & KT are the best (from the '80), .... cast iron piston compressor or slow speed screw compressor with large and solid oil cooler are still the best and most reliable investment. I don't like 'VSD' because a compressor has to run at a minimum speed to get a good return. - GA 808 and now ??? Best buy is the lowest kw. of a series! (E.g., a type with a 37kw. - 45kw. - 75kw. / best is 'the 37kw') with the 45kw. & 75kw. only the gearing is changed and the compressor element runs at high speed. IPV VSD buy 3 compressors and install in cascade !
That's interesting haha well I haven't seen those Compressors yet but thanks for sharing your experience
Make 2 part of this video
I must make a few more clips but yeah definitely dude
Make a video about incenerator would be very appreciated :D
It's delicate but for sure! This is a long term project but eventually there will be a full library of the engine room hahah success and nothing else!
Video is 1 year ago. I guess you're an engineer now. I watched all your videos and Learned more things too
Heya Ricardo! Yes I graduated and even finished a contract as an officer on a really hard vessel. A big hug my friend
@@ShrimptoShark good to hear that bro, i myself a suezmax and vlcc officer, expecting more videos from your side
Hi, could you tell me how much ton of your ship's boiler capacity, steam pressure, working pressure, & water capacity?
Thanks in advance
Heya dude, in a suezmax oil tanker with steam turbine pumps the Mission TM boilers gave max 16 bar pressure (for cargo operation) or 8 bar pressure (low mode navigation), water pressure 8 bar (low mode economize pump) or 25 bar (auxiliary boiler pump), and the water capacity is 18tons.. Total steam capacity 35.000kg/hr at max load..in any case all info is found in the manual.
My friend, a question, when you worked on BSM, do you sent an application form when you were still a student?
Greetings from Mexico
Greeting Gerardo! Correct I applied as a student here in my country however unfortunately over here the company is having a hard time
How are we supposed to test LO pressure in air compressor..to make sure high pressure alarm is working
Hey dude, high pressure alarm isn't tested and where I have worked this alarm doesn't exist... THERE IS a low pressure ALARM AND TRIP to protect the compressor from running without lube oil flow and overheating... This is tested by closing the valve to the presostat and verifying the compressor stop.. It will run with oil but the presostat won't sense the pressure anymore and cause the trip.
hello my friend could you make a such a video about major faults of air compressors and pneumatic air system
Ufff that's tough because every contract people encounter new problems, even chief engineers with 20+ years.. I'll try to make update videos that show problems I have found.
How about the purpose of relief valve in compressor
Yeah, in cause for some reason the flow of air gets stuck and pressure rises above the working purpose these valves will open and allow excess pressure to escape to the atmosphere (with very loud noise hahaha). If they don't work you risk damaging gaskets or the line itself!
Bro the videos are superb ...but if you can from next time touch all the different different parts like 1st stage 2nd stage safety valve etc and tell the names instead writing in the videos itself as so we can have better view and understanding ..
Overall a really nice work very helpful ..will be waiting for new videos as well!
I need some clips on valve spring lapping to do the 2nd part but for sure I'll keep working on these types and other compresores in the future! Success Bro
Hello sir, do like your videos
Could you make a video of overhauling pump?
Thanks a lot
Hello my friend!
Of course I have a full disassembly of a centrifugal pump and change of mechanical seal with explanation planned after my university work is done.. Taking a small break from RUclips until I'm done with this.
@@ShrimptoShark
I will be waiting impatiently for your video. Thank you!
Same type of air compressor ,when hp pressure is around 27bars,it suddenly reduces to 14 and after 10 seconds it increases to 27 again.Pressure drop occurs two times.Does anyone have an idea about this problem?
If you solved the problem could you update? I would imagine it's the unloder valve activation.
Hey bro... Can you give me link for part 2 for this video.
Heya! I'm ashamed to say I haven't made part 2 yet! It would be about the valves and maintance however I still need a clip about valve spring lapping to be satisfied
Sir g mujhy ye cumpresr lena ha kahan se mil jaye ga
I apologize bro, I do not understand your language.
Part two?
Part 2 would be about valve maintenance however I'm onboard now as an officer and the stress and work gives little free time. The route of the Caribbean has bad and expensive internet not like my last contract in Portugal 😂
Brother me ukrainian 3rd eng now on bulk carrier, thanks you for video now we are workung with this type if compressor. Can you tell me please for what control air to unloader valve? How its working
Explaining it with words is pretty hard other, I've disassembled many becuase they get dirty and stuck causing loss of compression.. There an underlying problem usually oil in the compressed air that dirties the valve.
Very well explained my brother. Get some more knowledge about compressor.
In which shipping company u r now ? Is that BSM Or something else
Hello brother! Yeah slowly I'm trying to learn more and more of all types of machinery. Especially if I'm responsible for them.
At the moment I'm awaiting another campaign on board another type of vessel.
Can you upload noon to toon report
Hahaha that sounds a little boring for a video don't worry if your nervous about that it's a small experience for a shrimp and very easy
Hey, I appreciate your efforts which show flow movement inside machinery,
Could you please tell which software or app you use for creating and editing such videos, esp Animations n all.?
I also am running my RUclips Channel @Class4Orals and creating Marine Contents Ques & Answers. It would be great to hear from your side. Bless you
Greetings I'm glad to see your channel helping out the people who need it most newbies!
The software used to edit videos is Adobe Premire.

For sure amigo.. One day I'll be able to do that, let's see what jobs life brings me!
@@ShrimptoShark I have a doubt..in unloader vale ,it has connections from LP side and Hp side of the compressor....could you tell me how the air is drained from the LP connection given to the unloader

To much oil in atmosphere any time we operating it even with new everything
Check all seals and gaskets on the valves as well as the lubricator.

I just suggest never fold your boiler suit sleeve during this type of work ..... it's harm to your skin personal experience
Thats true as well as using a proper undershit under the boiler suit..very important even if it is super hot.
