Fun fact, low key no they didn’t lol. They planned this. They literally have the lyrics up on a screen. Ain’t no way they whipped that up in 3 seconds.
When they played in CT few days later Wes started to play Counterfeit and Fred made him stop, said “no one here knows that song!” I was sooooo bummed!!🤘🏻🤘🏻
These songs bring me back to being 14 years old in Jacksonville, their hometown and watching them perform these songs live. Those shows were absolutely Insane and I used to think getting thrown around like a rag doll in the pit was fun, lol.
@David Davidson I feel like it’s pretty well known that the production on the album is pretty rough, especially in comparison to the rest of the LB discography. the guitar tone and the way it gets lost the mix leaves a lot to be desired for me personally. Significant Other and Chocolate Starfish showcase Wes’ guitar work a lot better IMO.
@@fadedidentity The production is what propels it forward. It doesn't have to be this large, polished, well oiled machine for it to sound great. The performances on that album are wilder than any other LB album. Though not as iconic as Chocolate Starfish, Three Dolla Bill Y'all is still their heaviest and most expressive album because Ross Robinson got those emotive performances out of them. Now if you're talking about the MIXING, that's a different story.
@@jamesd7678ye. It's a nice and heavy album. Quirky. The mix and master is barely adequate, but it adds to the charm and rawness. I'm glad they never remastered it. Likewise with The Offspring self titled and Ignition. Great debut albums, very raw and gritty. You can tell it was recorded with the entire band playing together, rather than recording each instrument individually and solo, then mixing them together later in post production.
Same. They walked off after 3 songs at ozzfest 00. Tbf the only song released at the time was counterfeit. When they started playing faith for song two it went off the rails because nobody had heard it and, well ozzfest was metal. All in all they've done fine for themselves and have aged like wine.
Still very much with the band... just not touring...I don't recall the reason? Covid concerns I think? He's very much doing the new album with them tho and still part of the band.
Love LB in the family values days. Excited for the new album. Doesn’t seem like Fred even yells/screams anymore live when playing the oldies. But really though, they got the lyrics scrolling on the side there? Lol 😆
I will always remember the first time listening to 3 Dollar Bill Y'all. I was with my older brother and his best friend while his mom was driving us to Oakland to visit his older sister. As soon as the intro track was over his mom looked over and said "Doug, what the fuck is this?" Which was funny af coming from an older black lady to a car full of teenagers. We all just laughed.
He was handing out 3 Dollar bill demo cassette tapes at a slayer concert at the Glen Helen Amphitheater in Cali. I ended up getting one after tripping over a guy passed out on the lawn lol, This was in the 90's and the pkace it burnt down now

Im pretty sure I met Fred just before he was in LB. It was just a bar band but he was killing it, and me and a buddy talked to him outside of the bar. He was like "Yea man thanks, just got out of the navy and this shit is so much fun!" or something very close to that. A year later at Jax beach, me and same guy were walking down a street - the one where its now gentrified and ruined all that made the area great - and we looked at a marquee, and saw a line around the building. Friend: "Who the F is Limp Bizkit?" Me: "IDK but they have the place packed, maybe we should have been there instead of Molly Hatchet" (who blew chunks that night) Kinda wish we had gone to that instead.
"This wasn't on the setlist". I saw recent interview and Fred said they don't make a setlist for shows. They just go with the flow of the show and the crowd vibe. Play something heavier or slower depending on what they feel is best for the show in the moment. Haha. It sounds cool, but I knew it was complete bs as soon as he said it because I've literally seen them play identical sets on tour. But as a musician myself I know how many problems it would present to not have a setlist and just decide each song as you go. They'd have to communicate between every song so each member knew what to play next. The tech wouldn't know when to bring Wes a guitar in different tuning for different songs. It would be hard to time and plan their set and songs they're going to play. What of they lise track of what they have and haven't played yet.. There's many problems it would create. Even the lighting guy would have issues not knowing what's up next. The only time this is maybe possible is a very short acoustic set or something like that.
This song isn't on the set list but sometimes wes will start playing it or other songs and fred will either contiue with wes or stop wes and play the set list.
I get the dad vibes thing, but if I'd paid for this I'd be down. He should be screaming pollution, that songs too good. Leave dad vibes for dad vibes not the whole set
It breaks my heart to realize that 1) They'll probably NEVER release an album that sounds like 3dby again (if they ever release any album at all...) and 2) That Durst is too old and probably has fucked up vocal chords to scream like he used to...
