I love your daylilies. I've tried multiple varieties over the years and I've finally found my absolute favorite: Persian Market. It's been blooming its head off, and this is its first year. I've had no problems with rust, which is a real issue in my area, and its flower scapes and buds are very strong, so there's no loss of future flowers when I accidentally bump into them. The color is a rich, vibrant rosy peach that literally glows during golden hour. Persian Market is a keeper for sure.
G'day Ken , as usual a great video and one i felt i had to comment on. Those daylilies are all spectacular in their own way ie color, size , rebloom, Wayside Red Ensign for example i would buy/have in a heart beat. Over here in Australia we're just getting into the good time of the year for daylilies, happy days 😊
I had Royal Palace Prince at my last house, and loved it. I looked to buy it for my new place a couple of years ago and didn’t see it. Now that I know it’s in stock I’d better hurry, after everyone sees this video! 😅
Ha ha! We agree--we think Royal Palace Prince is gorgeous and a fabulous bloomer. Here's a link to our website if you'd like to see it :) oakesdaylilies.com/product/royal-palace-prince/
I know! We're scratching our head over it, too. We think maybe they just don't look as good on the website or in the catalog as they do in person? Whatever the reason, we find them gorgeous!
@@OakesDayliliesIn the past, I have received a Daylily as a bonus that I wouldn't have picked out of the catalog, only to find that I loved it. It's sometimes very difficult to capture how lovely they are.
@@LynnLamont That's one of the reasons why we love giving bonus plants! It's a great way to get someone to try something they might not otherwise try...plus, we just love gifting daylilies! It's a win/win!
Nice varieties to highlight. I do believe you are correct, the static photos the site do not do these justice. They are all "dormant" types which do not do well where I live. While there are many worthy evergreen/semis available - I always find myself admiring the dormant varieties. Sigh...
That's Autumn Minaret. It's the tallest (66"!!) and the latest blooming daylily we grow. Definitely one of our favorites! oakesdaylilies.com/product/autumn-minaret/

Sure! A good rule of thumb is to look at how tall the daylily should be when full grown and plant it that distance away from the next. For instance, if a daylily is registered at 18" tall, plant it 18" away from its neighbor.
Maybe not yet. We're planning to shoot a video on ours tomorrow. Some of ours sprouted rather quickly and others took their sweet time. Yours may be on the "all the time in the world" side. Maybe give them a couple more weeks to see if anything takes.

Persian Market is one of our absolute favorites! It's tough, beautiful and a fantastic bloomer. Hard to beat!
I get it, I don’t photograph well either, but I smash video!

Those are beautiful Ken! Thanks!
They are all very pretty
Thanks!
I’m getting ready for a sale soon! I just moved a few daylilies and now have a blank space to add more ❤❤❤

dappled dynamo looks better when i can see the entire plant!!! i think in the catalog i just saw... "very tall? might overwhelm my small garden..."
It's about 30" tall. With its airy form, it's definitely not overwhelming.
They are all gorgeous Ken!
Thanks Kim!
Those are really gorgeous! I would never think any of those would be worst sellers! WOW!!!

These are beautiful!! What was the super tall variety behind you at the Red Lillie’s??
Came to ask same question.
It looks like autumn minaret.

If I won the lottery, I'd probably spend most of it on daylilies, Japanese maples, and other plants. I love daylilies!!
We're right there with you!
Here in Alabama, my Black Arrowhead is reblooming on September 4th. It's not even listed as a rebloomer.
Oooh! That's good to know! Interesting!
Hello, can you tell me what is the ideal distance between daylilly plants. Thanks

Hey Ken, do you still carry Loch Ness Monster??? That is one of my favorite spiders.
Ya probably going to sell out of these. None of my seeds have germinated😢. Been about 3 weeks, should something be happening?
