You mean the style where the head is cast as one piece with the cylinder? Possibly a thinner base gasket, but any time you alter the base gasket thickness you also affect port durations. May not be worth it.
whats a good compression level to use with the hoca jog90 54mm kit. and when using base gaskets to lower compression or make compression higher. do you have to tune the carb or should i leave the carb alone.
+tjay ismael The best way is to work with corrected compression. I usually stay around 7:1. More info on that here : 49ccscoot.proboards.com/thread/5043/calculating-stroke-compression-ratios 150-180psi usually works out alright if you're using a compression tester. It can go out of that range, but that seems to be the most common range that works well for street engines for me. It's never a bad idea to go over the carb tune.
im new to the scooter scene but ive learned alot ina short amount of time. my bike temp and dvt is way too hot at times and its sounded like my bike made this noise as if too much pressure built up and something blew there was oil splatter everywhere. ithink its in the engine
@@49ccscoot my sooter runs and idles when its hot changed the gear oil using 5w-30 oil but it calls for 10w-30. imight of used mixed gas by mistake it accelerates decent but it makes the bogging noise.
@@BigObbWest Well, first thing would be to find out where the oil spatter is coming from. Clean it up and run it briefly. Might even do it at idle. Then see if you can locate the source.
@@49ccscoot the oil isnt splattering after i looked.i have a weird noise coming from my cvt. its making a weird buzzing noise when i accelerate and a backfire noise is it bad to use a lower sae oil than required
@@BigObbWest Not a great idea to use lightweight oil in the gearbox. I prefer to use an actual gear oil, 75W90 Mobil 1 synthetic for me. Backfire is often lean, but that shouldn't come from the CVT. Running hot is also typically a lean condition.
HI man. I have been following you and your videos for a while now. You are in the top 3 of my all Stars here in RUclips. You rock. You have helped me so much and you don't even know. I have a question for you, hope you can spare a minute and help me out. How do you keep track of temps in your scooter?. I have a 150cc scooter and milled the cylinder to get a little more compression. Now I am scared about temps. . How do you check on temperature on tour gy6?. thx friend keep up the good vids and ride safe.
I use CHT (cylinder head temperature) gauges. Both of my 4Ts have oil temp gauges as well, but CHT is the one that's most useful. Mine are in Trail Tech Vapors that perform multiple functions, but Trail Tech makes standalone CHT gauges as well. Other companies also make them, those are just what I've been using. My 150 ran hot. An oil cooler did a nice job of reducing oil temps and CHTs.
I just installed a brand new cylinder and piston ( purchased from china $25.00 ) with a new head from a local dealer on a Taotao 50 and only have 110 psi compression, .004 lash on intake and exhaust, cylinder head torqued to 13 ft. lbs. and the bike will only try to start on ether, does nothing on fresh 93 octane with a clean carburetor. What did I do wrong .

How can you increase compression on a headless 49cc 2 stroke motor without swapping a higher compression piston?

Maybe the head gasket went.

+90GTVert Thx mate. I'm gonna take your advice. I been looking into an oil cooler for a while now. Thx and ride safe
any difference in top speed with different compression levels?
It ran a little stronger all around. I honestly can't remember the speed difference now. I know it wasn't a lot.
Very good job
Thanks.

Did you check the piston ring end gaps? There's an end gap calculator here : www.49ccscoot.com/calculators.html
Good job...:) , appreciate
Can you compare this scooter with different roller weight... ?
I dont get why it takes you 24 sec to 35mph it takes me 8 sec on my Stock 49cc chinese moped :/
I'm probably twice your weight.
+90GTVert probaly which one you got tho?
With a light rider, the Vento Triton 2T (like in the video) should keep up with any cheap 49cc Chinese scoot.
