Knowing self worth helps to fulfils responsibilities. Worthing ourselves make us important for any role we have to fulfil. Low self worth over shadowed the role and responsibility we have at a certain stage in life.

Assalam o alaikum wrwb Ustaz Nouman!
Well let me predict the discussion, what I get from the 1st statement of this khutbah it seems to explain the points that,
    1) A believer on the day of judgment isn't = a non-believer
    2) A person who values ethics a lot can't be = a person who takes ethics for granted
    3) A person blessed with patience isn't = a person who doesn't know the beauty of patience
    4) One who has a +ve mind set can't be = one with a - -ve mindset
    5) One who doesn't loose hope can never be = a despaired lifestyle.
Maa Shaa Allah, the summing up point of this khutbah is marvelous.
    *فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ.
Then which of your Master's favor, would you deny?
اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّىْ اَسْئَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا وَّ رِزْقًا طَيِّبًا وَّ عَمَلاً مُّتَقَبِّلاًO Allah! I ask you for knowledge which is beneficial, and sustenance which is pure and deeds which are acceptable. (Ibn Majah)

Can someone explain how hell could possibly be literal? The descriptions of hell are the most hideous, gruesome, and awful punishments you can think of. Forget about disbelieving people for a moment (who by the way will probably be most of the people who have ever lived), let’s talk about believers for a moment. Even believing people will enter hellfire, and their bodies will burn - think about that for a moment - and not even with any kind of fire, but fire that is kindled over millions of years, to be so hot that it’s black. How does that correspond to there being a merciful God. Furthermore, that torture and punishment doesn’t just happen for a moment but for thousands of years, yet most people don’t live past 80-90. How can that be just? I’ve heard the hypothetical argument that if the sinner were to return to earth they would repeat their sins over and over, but what does that have to do with committing actual sins? Doesn’t God not do injustice by an atoms weight? I am speaking as a Muslim and really struggling to get my head around these things, so if anyone has any persuasive explanations please post them here.

Committing sin is normal since we are human; has many flaws. But we must always ask for God's forgiveness. However, there are people who know they are sinning but refuse to admit their mistakes and too arrogant to ask forgiveness from God, this is the soul that is so stubborn, arrogance and deserve the punishment. God's want a person who obey him and do good on earth. He forgive when we make mistakes as long as we admit and regret doing it. His mercy is bigger than his wrath. When a person has intention to do good, he already got 1 reward. When he really do it, he will get 1 more reward. Meaning doing good will give u 2 rewards. If someone has intention to do bad, only when he truly doing the bad thing then it is written as 1 sin. Even so, we are given time to istighfar and ask for god's forgiveness so the sin will be forgiven. Subhanallah. He loves the soul who always repent and turns back to Him. This just shows that,He is generous to give rewards but very careful to count the sins. With regard to the punishments, he already warned us of the punishments. We should be vigilant. And we will have eternal life in the hereafter. Since we just live in this world is far too short, it just makes sense for us to focus on the hereafter rather than being fooled by the temptations of this world. Only those who are too arrogant will ignore his warnings. If 80years of living on earth is equal to eternal life in the hereafter, isn't it just fair for the punishment to be long? However brother, the key point is always ask for God's forgiveness and mercy. Always do good, may our good deeds are more than our bad deeds. There are people who won't be thrown in the hell fire, and there are people who don't even have to go through hisab (judgement session). May Allah put us among those people.

Qur'an isn't sent down to distress mankind. It is sent down to mankind for guidance. It holds peace, relationship with the creator of the universe, stories of the nation's and their Prophets (peace and blessings be upon them all), and rules and regulations for mankind. Imagine being so free that even after knowing the Truth follow desires and treat death won't come, human beings doing all wrongs even after knowing the death and forgetting there is a time death will come (if mankind believes nothing is true, atleast they can see and witness death- Reality). Allah is ar rahman. He is the MOST MERCIFUL, NOT EVEN MERCIFUL, THE MOST MERCIFUL. HE says in the Qur'an Say, “O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.”
Allah swt also tells in the Qur'an how mankind is created weak and will always be in sin. BUT THE TRUE HUMAN BEING IS THOSE WHO REPENT. But the disbelievers are those who don't believe there's a God who's taking care of all of us. The people of hell will be ungrateful human beings, people who are ignorant, are cruel, and are busy in chasing the world and ignoring doing rights. Even atom of a good deed will be repaid by Allah swt. Not even a single good deed is getting gone astray - be it this dunya or akhirah( final day). Imagine making a robot and that robot start functioning by himself and ignores all your existence! So, we makind are in loss. We are here only to worship Allah which is by doing good deeds, Salah, helping each other, charity and waiting to meet our Lord one day in sha Allah

Also, indeed the discription of hell and heaven are most amazing and feels unreal. But isn't the same with human anatomy, sleep, a baby plant being raised from hard earth, a sky with no cracks, all these are beautiful creation of Allah swt. It's easy for Allah. Allah is Al musawwi (the faishoner of all things). Allah loves us more than we can ever imagine. He described hell as such hideous because Allah want people to understand that this life is nothing and one must be scared for the punishment afterlife. When a man is scared, they try to do things in the right manner. For example when we know someone is always watching us we try not to do things that are actually bad and offensive, and Allah swt is Al seeing, he is always watching us and still we tend to do bad stuff. Allah doesn't need us, we need Allah. I was born a Muslim subhanallah, i STARTED reading few ayahs and went away from Allah because of duniya, astagfirullah. But then Allah swt guided me and trust me, all my fears, depression have been away because I know the source of love(Al wadud) is always there for us and do the most for us without asking anything is return. We wake up, have food to eat and still we cry whole day instead of seeing someone who doesn't have anything. Here Allah taught us to give to needy. Isn't is beautiful? We came naked, we will go with nothing except our deeds. Everything is from Allah, guidance, food, rizk...every single things. All we have to do is make repentance, pray, do charity and treat others good as we want to be treated. Simple, Jannah is your reward where there's no pain, no desires, just peace and people whom we love. Instead hell is for those who rejected someone who takes care over them, worship stones(make partners with Allah), do not give charity, are lost in duniya (drugs, porn, etc) through which they're humiliating their body and ignoring when someone warns them. They themselves are losing the reality. And what kind of punishment Hitler would get in this World- a shot in head welcoming death. But he has murdered millions brutally, so that hellfire is for those who thought that DEATH IS THE ONLY END AND THEY CAN DO ANYTHING, HELLFIRE IS WAITING FOR SUCH. BECAUSE not all punishment is worthy of the crime cruel commits on earth(child rapists, flesh eaters, torturing someone throughout their lives), and indeed Allah knows best.
