I will never be able to recreate the feeling of dread that I felt when I first finished watching Jack's playthrough of this.
Given how philosophical this vid gets, I’d recommend Slay the Princess! It might be a super popular game to analyse atm so it might not be niche enough but its still a massive rabbit hole on its own.
I'll check it out! I saw Markiplier play it so i might watch his gameplay while I do scripts
@@ChillwithAsterDon't watch the gameplay! I mean, there's nothing wrong with it. But it is a pretty personal experience. The creators of the game are even fine with piracy as long as you play it yourself.
The game is pretty short (though quite replayable). And it's built upon your own personal choices.
Of course, the creators are also ok if you watch a playthrough. It's just that doing so takes away from that first time experience.
I litteraly love Slay the Princess!!! Even though I've never played it, I saw an analysis of it and it's nothing short of brilliant and amazing
OOOOOh i did not expect you to cover this game but i'm so so glad you did!!
seeing the beginner’s guide being covered after almost a decade since its release brings me so much joy, thank u so much (;/TvT)/
When I heard you were moving away from Genshin I wasn’t expecting you to do a video on one of my favorite games. Great analysis!
I love these new philosophical analysis videos.
this was the most impactful gaming experiences i've ever had when it came out, every creator, no matter their art, should play it
I love this kind of vidios from you
You sound really passionate with this video. I'm glad you found your passion again
If this is the type of content we are expecting from the future, that i cannot be more excited
This game truly sounds interesting.
Banger video!
Ooooh I love this curve ball of content.
This wasn't a good idea to watch at 2:00am.. Verying interesting video Aster, it's just too deep and philosophical to process at such an ungodly time😅
Brilliant game. Can't wait for the Pathologic arc :D
The beginners guide. Now that's a game that I haven't heard of in a long time.
Now, giving an interpretation of the game is honestly counterproductive due to it's nature. But if I can put my own two cents into the matter, I would say that the game isn't going against the action of interpretation (the death of the autor something something birth of the reader). But rather criticizes the belief that any interpretation is inherently superior and therefore "the truth". That we cannot get to know people just by their work and that there's not such thing as a correct interpretation of the authors meaning of something.
Even then, I would say that having the meaning of the game be that you shouldn't ever have any interpretations of anything is quite... IDK, nihilist i guess? I think is more of a call to separate reality from fiction. And that our interpretation can only be used to understand ourselves better. Not the autor. And the author doesn't owns us an answer either. Sometimes, a game is a game. That's all.
I think a great example is kishimoto and naruto and it's audiance aswell
Not the story oer se but the mentalety and and mental health philosophy and even queer coding
Naruto ended a long time ago but till this day i can't find an answer as to how/ what/if it is intentinal what isn't if ppl are reading to much into it if it's a just a happned by chance
If you are into philosophical and thought provoking games, i would recommend covering Nier Automata
