@@Opmehh124he says in one of the first episodes on Amazon "the chest fluff everyone thinks are tits" when he's talking about having the legs, and stamina, lung capacity, etc.
Part of why Alastor is so scary is that he is always in control. He is calm and just exudes authority. He doesn't scare. He doesn't run. He saunters. Through hell. He almost never swears. He is charming to a fault and extremely well spoken. All of that adds up to this dude is scary as fuck.
So yeah, Alastor's voice is naturally like that, and the more genuine he is, the less of a Radio filter his voice has. That doesn't mean he isn't being genuine at all normally, but it does mean that in the moments the filter is gone is when he's at his MOST genuine. Also, love this. Charlie: "Inside of every demon is a rainbow~" Alastor: "Inside of every demon is a lost cause~"
2:20 I'm Always Chasing Rainbows is a song from an old Broadway show called Oh Look! in 1918. It fits the open scene sooooo well, and Charlie's VA is very good.
16:41 "He's a handsome dude". Yeah Jeffrey Dahmer was that. Charismatic and seemingly harmless too from what I understand. I'm sure the many people he killed and ate would tell you what he was really like if they could.
I feel like I'm the only one who's really not into his looks. They hella played him up in the image (which is really well drawn). Anyway, rip any real world mentions of awful people after this and the one time in S1E1 of Helluva.
48:13 A113 is an animation Easter egg, that lots of media, notably Pixar films, have in their animations. If I recall correctly, it is the room number to an animation classroom at Cal-Arts.
The pace of the series slows down to a more normal speed. The pilot is so jam packed because animation is expensive and time consuming (without big studio money), and this was the proof of concept. They were trying to showcase as much of Vivienne Medrano's vision for the show as possible, in just 30 minutes.
47:25 Oh definitely, I absolutely adore the way the show is structured for that reason, nothing exists for no reason and there’s no “filler”-it jumps to the next plot point right away. Part of that is probably because the creator happens to be ADHD herself.
To clear up some confusion: Lucifer *is* the king of Hell, as hell was created when he Fell, but there are other powerhouses at play. He has the most control over the Pride ring (due to being the prince of pride as well as the King of hell). The other rings are ruled by their respecvtive sins as well (these get explored in the sister series Helluva boss). So Pride is ruled by Lucifer, Wrath is ruled by Satan (mentiont in Helluva, hasn't appeared yet) Gluttony is ruled by Beelzebub (appeared in Helluva) Greed is ruled by Mammon (appeared in Helluva) Lust is ruled by Asmodeus (appeared in Helluva) Envy is ruled by Leviathan (has not been mentioned or appeared in Helluva) and Sloth is ruled by Belphegor (mentioned in Helluva, hasn't appeared yet) Other then the princes, we also have the Ars Goatia, which is a powerful movement of hellborn princes and princesses, they seemingly seem to rule over the universe more-so then over hell (also explored in Helluva boss) And then we also have the Overlords, which are sinners. The overlords can be seen as being closer to Mayors then as actual rulers. They cannot leave Pride due to being Sinners (only Hellborns can visit the other rings of Hell), so they're ruled by Lucifer, but they can have a curtain power over areas within the Pride ring. If we look at Hell's hirarchy, it looks like this: 1. Lucifer 2. Lilith and Charlie 3. The other deadly sins 4. The Ars Goatia 5. The Overlords 6. Regular sinners 7. Most known Hellborn demon species (such as Succubi and Incubi) 8. Imps and Hellhounds (also Hellborn demons)
Don’t know if you’re interested but the guy who did the singing voice for Alastor in the pilot made a song called Insane that is well worth the listen.
@@kaylaschropp7503 Gabe Brown, also known as Black Gryph0n, is the singing voice of Alastor in the pilot, and yes, made Insane, along with Thank You and Goodnight, and many other songs.
The pilot is an amazing way to see the overall difference in quality between an indie production and one backed by a big studio with good direction. The writing is better, along with music, SFX, character work, art, and the rest. This is no means a jab at the original pilot and its ideas, but truly 5 years or so of experience does make something better. Enjoyed the reaction Matt! Can't wait for you to see the rest!
A113 is an animation joke most commonly associated with Pixar. Most of the animators that started the studio met in that classroom, so they hide it in films as an easter egg.

I prefer the reactions that are more thought out even if they are longer. Some of the reactions I have seen for this is also an hour long. Also if I am not mistaken the symbols always surrounding Alastor is voodoo symbols. Your reactions are fantastic. Thank you for posting!

So happy you are enjoying the show! You are going to have so much FUN watching the first season! It also zooms by quickly and has two songs per episode, for a total of 16 songs for eight episodes.
Bro this just came out as I- like- JUST finished binging through you watching the songs- you have a new subscriber btw, I love your positive energy and how invested you are in the show lol
I am glad to see you finally digging into these because I'm super excited to see your reactions! You picked up on soo much more than I did on my watch through of the series. Can't wait for more!
with THIS alastor his voice becomes more radio like or more normal depending on his sincerity(at least that's one theory if i remember right), also you NEED to watch "thank you and goodnight after this", not everything from the pilot carried over to the actual series btw
I can only speak for myself, but i say that the long run time of this is a win! You're one of the better reactors ive seen, and you take the time to analyze the details, acknowledge and catch on to things some others don't, and have a happy balance of praising and talking yet playing it through as well. I'm excited to see more as you discover this show and maybe helluva boss (the sister show here on RUclips). Super stoked!
Here we go!!!! Oh my gosh I am so exited to see your reaction to the whole series!!!! I found you through the "Poision" reaction and I instantly fell in love with your content. As Alastor once said, "This is going to be very entertaining!"
For anyone who did not catch it, the #A1 and #13 on the eggs was an easteregg (yes, they did...) A113 is a call back to the animation classroom where many animators learned the finer arts of the craft. It can also be seen in almost every Pixar movie, along with some Disney. It's snuck in by a LOT of industry insiders.
A1 13 = A113. The classroom at CalArts where most people in animation started learning animation. Pixar puts it in all of their films. It's in Disney films. DreamWorks. Mission Impossible 4 has a reference to it because Brad Bird (The Incredibles) directed it.
I'm living vicariously through you being able to experience this show for the first time again. ❤ I've seen the show 10 times already and I'm still obsessed. How you react is literally how I was when I first saw the whole thing. I loooved the details and lore around the show!! Can't wait for the next one!!!
Yes, I was already waiting for it!!!, you did very well in watching the pilot, now you have a little more context about the series and its plot. Now I'm dying to see you react to the series, I guarantee you will have a lot of fun, and you will enjoy the incredible songs.
Just found your Hazbin song reactions the other day and was so looking forward to this! I love the stopping to point things out that I didn’t notice. Thank you for reading the whole cheating husband and ape story on the news show XD I’ve been wanting to know what that said but haven’t made the time yet. This was great, excited to see more!
The A1 and #13 eggs at the end are a reference to the classroom number (A113) where many Pixar employees studied at the California Institute of the Arts.
I want nothing but long episodes. Genuinely and truly. Just subbed - found you like 2 hours ago and just binged all the hazbin content. So very very looking forward to more!!!
There is one more song I do recommend, it came out about 1 week before the release of the show, “Thank You and Goodnight” it’s the farewell song from the pilot voice team (the voice cast was changed from the pilot)
At 48:11 - the '#A1' and '#13' is a nod to the Pixar Code- their first studio was Room-A113 at the University of California [if I recall], and the code 'A113' appears in every Pixar movie. A lot've indie animations like to reference that
Oh man oh man I'm so excited!!! Don't worry about a longer reaction I absolutely love it when you pause and share your thoughts!! I found your channel a few days ago and I absolutely love your reactions and I've been really looking forward to you starting the show. Excited for you to get into it : )
YES! I am SO excited! I found you through the Poison reaction and have been Eagerly Awaiting you delving into the show ( as well as enjoying the other reactions that led up to it ) since then. I love your commentary and how excited you are about the show and characters and the AMAZING music!
The original cast did one more song kind of recently called “Thank You And Goodnight” because sadly they did not make it to the full series. While that was controversial, they seem cool with it saying it’s just showbiz, but it’s a nice sendoff for them!
I'm so excited for you to watch the full show! I think you'll love seeing more of all the characters, especially with four years of development behind them.
A little detail that you picked out a few times. X's on people - X's on sinners are showing the spots where the lethal damage was done from which the sinners died. For example, Alastor was shot in the head by a hunter that mistook him for a deer when Al was doing his voodoo ritual in the woods (that is also why he has antlers and hooves btw)
41:00 im pretty sure its voodoo symbols (i could be wrong, i tried to look for a comment mentioning but no one did so) Bc i know hes seen with voodoo symbols in an artwork from Viv (bc some people tried to get mad about it)
I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, but I, for one, don't mind the longer videos bc I'm just super excited to see a reactor take their time with this show and look at all the little details it has to offer!
i usually don’t like to comment on here, but OMG i’m so happy you’re finally reacting to the pilot! can’t wait for your reaction to the series :) also not sure if anyone’s told you before, but the VA’s in the pilot are different from the show’s cast, and some characters have two different VA’s for singing and dialogues, like Alastor and Charlie! edit: just got done watching your reaction and i LOVED every second of that omg 😭 Charlie doesn’t set her foot down or use her power or authority as much as she should (or at all) so she’s not really intimidating to others. and since you asked, angel dust has a chest fluff, not tits
After watching the pilot and all s1 eps, Alastor has shown to be an ambiguous(though savvy, sophisticated and cunning) and somewhat terrifying and antagonistic character though not the main villain. Despite the many red flags and few scenes showing his somewhat humane side, I as well as many others(Alastor fan or not) can't help but want to have faith that Alastor won't hurt and be an enemy to Charlie and the hotel which he has poured so much effort into and probably grown attached to maybe.
Loved this video sm!! I’ve literally been rewatching anytime i can until episode 1 comes out! How are we supposed to wait A WHOLE WEEK for new episodes!!??
You got so many things right but so many wrong too lmao i love your reactions and i love to see how you analyze all the details, it makes me happy that people notice them! I've been watching these reactions and I've been THOROUGHLY enjoying them, the blind music reactions were just so much fun to see you piece these together. The most amusing however for me was your reactions to Cherri Bomb just being on screen, I have a client who is also just *obsessed* with this character as well and we've done several body pillow designs of her for my shop as a result XD
I enjoyed your reactions to the music videos, and I'm glad to see this was just as fun. I've been kind of binging reactions to this, and you've got a fun, unique commentary style. I also love that you stop and enjoy all the tiny little details - there are a LOT in this show, just like in its sister show Helluva Boss. Thanks for making it, hope you keep enjoying the show, and I'll look forward to your next reaction.
The chasing rainbows song is actually in public domain I'm not sure who wrote it but someone was talking about hearing it in a movie and wondering why it sounded familiar. . . It was from watching the pilot on release
I don't know if this holds true in the pilot, but Alastor's radio filter is really cool and there is a reason it flickers in and out! He maintains it when he's posturing or putting on a front, and it only seems to drop down when he's either speaking genuinely or completely caught off guard. It's a really cool quirk to his character imo! He also tends to show the most emotion in his eyes, since he's always smiling the rest of his face can't really be trusted to tell what's going on in his head
Loved your reaction! And don't worry about the videos being long, I think it's so much better watching you break stuff down, rather than just glancing over a lot of it :) Keep it up!
I'm personally down to watch super long reaction videos from you. Your commentary is so fun and it's really nice seeing the way you engage with the show. Also you have paused on and talked about elements of the show I never noticed before and probably never would have if not for your videos, so thank you!

2:20 I'm Always Chasing Rainbows is a song from an old Broadway show called Oh Look! in 1918. It fits the open scene sooooo well, and Charlie's VA is very good.
34:48 the radio effect is something that he himself controls, not the mic so basically he can turn it on and off whenever he wants
I made "oof" face when i heard him say that😬. I mean, i understand he couldn't know that was real serial killer, but still.
@@amiable_monster Yeah, I was surprised he didn't know who he was. Wonder if he doesn't know about Ted Bundy and Ed Gein as well.
@@Z-one1000i dont think it’s that deep if he just didn’t make the connection. im sure he knows who jeffrey dahmer is lmfao
48:13 A113 is an animation Easter egg, that lots of media, notably Pixar films, have in their animations. If I recall correctly, it is the room number to an animation classroom at Cal-Arts.
"Vaggie? Is that short for Virginia?" LOL, I wish it was
If anyone doesn't know it means Vagina
I thought he was about to say "Vagina" help 💀💀
The pace of the series slows down to a more normal speed. The pilot is so jam packed because animation is expensive and time consuming (without big studio money), and this was the proof of concept. They were trying to showcase as much of Vivienne Medrano's vision for the show as possible, in just 30 minutes.
I'm Always Chasing Rainbows (the first song) is actually a rendition of an original song by Alice Cooper in 1918
Alice Cooper did it in '76. It was originally created by Harry Carroll and Joseph McCarthy in 1918.
The implication that Alice Cooper is ancient kills me. 😭🤣
@@TheSpookychick Alice Cooper IS ancient, just not THAT ancient.
47:25
Oh definitely, I absolutely adore the way the show is structured for that reason, nothing exists for no reason and there’s no “filler”-it jumps to the next plot point right away. Part of that is probably because the creator happens to be ADHD herself.
Hate on hazbin all you want their is 0 filler at all
To clear up some confusion:
Lucifer *is* the king of Hell, as hell was created when he Fell, but there are other powerhouses at play. He has the most control over the Pride ring (due to being the prince of pride as well as the King of hell). The other rings are ruled by their respecvtive sins as well (these get explored in the sister series Helluva boss).
So Pride is ruled by Lucifer,
Wrath is ruled by Satan (mentiont in Helluva, hasn't appeared yet)
Gluttony is ruled by Beelzebub (appeared in Helluva)
Greed is ruled by Mammon (appeared in Helluva)
Lust is ruled by Asmodeus (appeared in Helluva)
Envy is ruled by Leviathan (has not been mentioned or appeared in Helluva)
and Sloth is ruled by Belphegor (mentioned in Helluva, hasn't appeared yet)
Other then the princes, we also have the Ars Goatia, which is a powerful movement of hellborn princes and princesses, they seemingly seem to rule over the universe more-so then over hell (also explored in Helluva boss)
And then we also have the Overlords, which are sinners. The overlords can be seen as being closer to Mayors then as actual rulers. They cannot leave Pride due to being Sinners (only Hellborns can visit the other rings of Hell), so they're ruled by Lucifer, but they can have a curtain power over areas within the Pride ring. If we look at Hell's hirarchy, it looks like this:
1. Lucifer
2. Lilith and Charlie
3. The other deadly sins
4. The Ars Goatia
5. The Overlords
6. Regular sinners
7. Most known Hellborn demon species (such as Succubi and Incubi)
8. Imps and Hellhounds (also Hellborn demons)
Fun fact, Belphegor is also mentioned in hazbin kinda, appearing for a split second as a contact on charlie's phone in episode 5.
Don’t know if you’re interested but the guy who did the singing voice for Alastor in the pilot made a song called Insane that is well worth the listen.
Oh wait! They were the same person?? I hadn’t looked at the pilot VAs too much. But I do love that song.
@@kaylaschropp7503 Gabe Brown, also known as Black Gryph0n, is the singing voice of Alastor in the pilot, and yes, made Insane, along with Thank You and Goodnight, and many other songs.
@@Scar-Predator And Radio Play. Love that song 🎶
28:09 Angel pushing Cherri off to the side when the eggboy points the gun at them-
I absolutely love the fact that there are No cuts or anything just a full reaction to everything, and your focus on details🥹 youre my fav person to watch reactions now, cant wait for more hazbin
Longform content is my jam so don't even worry about it lol. I loved watching every minute of this. Parry Gripp is the one who wrote the music for the pilot and for season 1 they brought in Sam Haft from The Living Tombstone.
Dressed for the occasion! So hyped! Lesss goooooo!
only the best for you all!!
@Mattables Omg! Hallo! I just finished telling my husband you're my favorite reactor. So genuine and astute. I hope you have a great rest of the week.😊
I prefer the reactions that are more thought out even if they are longer. Some of the reactions I have seen for this is also an hour long. Also if I am not mistaken the symbols always surrounding Alastor is voodoo symbols. Your reactions are fantastic. Thank you for posting!
YESSSS! A new adventure! And knowing that you absolutely ADORE Charlie, this is gonna be SO much better!
1:28: No no! That's good! I love that!
17:18: RIGHT!? It's like they forget who she is! XD
So happy you are enjoying the show! You are going to have so much FUN watching the first season! It also zooms by quickly and has two songs per episode, for a total of 16 songs for eight episodes.
NEW MATTABLES HAZBIN REACTION JUST DROPPED HELL YEAHHHHHH 🎉🎉‼️‼️‼️
Angel Dust's 'Breast's' are just Fur ! Just a lotta fur hehe.
Damn, bro made the X connection just from the pilot!! I, on the other hand, was just as surprised as Charlie!
29:53 oddly enough it is mentioned and clarified in episode 1
how did you comment on this when the video came out 23 mins ago?! HMMM?!
Here we go!!!! Oh my gosh I am so exited to see your reaction to the whole series!!!! I found you through the "Poision" reaction and I instantly fell in love with your content. As Alastor once said, "This is going to be very entertaining!"
For anyone who did not catch it, the #A1 and #13 on the eggs was an easteregg (yes, they did...)
A113 is a call back to the animation classroom where many animators learned the finer arts of the craft.
A lot've indie animations like to reference that
I LOVE THE LONGER VIDEO!!! Thanks for taking the time to enjoy this with us, can't wait for the next one!
Oh man oh man I'm so excited!!! Don't worry about a longer reaction I absolutely love it when you pause and share your thoughts!! I found your channel a few days ago and I absolutely love your reactions and I've been really looking forward to you starting the show. Excited for you to get into it : )
19:12 not Blitz checking Charlie out XD
Fun fact: Husker's voice actor in the pilot is Mick Lauer who voices a character in the English dub of Part 5 of JoJo.
41:00 im pretty sure its voodoo symbols (i could be wrong, i tried to look for a comment mentioning but no one did so)
Bc i know hes seen with voodoo symbols in an artwork from Viv (bc some people tried to get mad about it)
omggg can’t wait to see your reaction for the rest of the show!! i love that u go very much into details hehe
I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, but I, for one, don't mind the longer videos bc I'm just super excited to see a reactor take their time with this show and look at all the little details it has to offer!
i usually don’t like to comment on here, but OMG i’m so happy you’re finally reacting to the pilot! can’t wait for your reaction to the series :)
also not sure if anyone’s told you before, but the VA’s in the pilot are different from the show’s cast, and some characters have two different VA’s for singing and dialogues, like Alastor and Charlie!
edit: just got done watching your reaction and i LOVED every second of that omg 😭 Charlie doesn’t set her foot down or use her power or authority as much as she should (or at all) so she’s not really intimidating to others. and since you asked, angel dust has a chest fluff, not tits
I am so excited for the next one one now!!!
Also long episode was DOPE, keep that shit up, it was awesome!
Bro (when I wrote this, episode 7 was already reacted to, so it’s not a spoiler), he just predicted Vaggie being an exorcist 😭😭
I'm so relieved I'm not the only one who sees Angel Dust and is so enamored it's bad.
YAY ive been wanting for this all day because you said Wednesday or Thursday 😭👏
Loved this video sm!! I’ve literally been rewatching anytime i can until episode 1 comes out! How are we supposed to wait A WHOLE WEEK for new episodes!!??
Dude, Looooove the long episodes, it was grate seeing you so atentive to the show, and wanting to read stuff :)
You got so many things right but so many wrong too lmao i love your reactions and i love to see how you analyze all the details, it makes me happy that people notice them! I'll be waiting for the the other episodes, i know that you're going to love all season! I really want to see your reactions to some specific moments ❤❤❤
OH MY GOD. Matt. "Jeffery's cannibal cooking show." That's a reference to the serial killer and cannibal JEFFERY DAHMER.
48:14 I can't believe you found an A113 reference! I've watched this pilot 1k times and never caught that. It's a reference to Cal-Arts. Joke is, I think Viv studied in NY.
FINALLY a reactor that likes/acknowledges the eggs !!
I've been loving your episodes! Watched the songs reacts and now gonna definitely watch the rest!
i love that alastor knocks with "shave and a haircut," it's so on brand
38:36 wait i never realized husker was right there too!
44:33 well husk used to be a overlord himself, hes stuck in his ways, plus he hates himself so he domt care too much what hapoens to himself.
Ive been so excited for more reactions!!! Youre one of my fav reactors of Hazbin stuff, you seem like youre having so much fun and its so nice seeing new and fresh reactions to it!
@41:20 those are Voodooo symbols. Viv does use demonic sigils in her work but that's more helluva boss
I haven’t seen the pilot in so long I didn’t realize it had so much in. I was a little surprised when I saw the overlords
Every time I see the pilot I'm depressed because LOOK AT ALASTOR!! LOOK AT HIM!! *_LOOK AT THE SILLY DEER BOI_*
23:29 you can see Mimzy from the song Hell's Greatest Dad.
Thanks for making it, hope you keep enjoying the show, and I'll look forward to your next reaction.
why did i just now notice that your ring finger's polish is the only one different then the rest! that is fantastic!!
The chasing rainbows song is actually in public domain I'm not sure who wrote it but someone was talking about hearing it in a movie and wondering why it sounded familiar. . . It was from watching the pilot on release
It also sounds a lot like another song, way older but I can't put my finger on it
I don't know if this holds true in the pilot, but Alastor's radio filter is really cool and there is a reason it flickers in and out!
Why would anyone want to control hell?
In the words of Alastor: SHEER ABSOLUTE BOREDOM
And in some cases a control freak!
34:04 I love that Alistor can't resist doing the creepiest possible shave and a haircut
Angel dust "oh harder daddy"
Sir pentious "son?"
11:18 omg the tea-
22:22 whoa i actually never noticed her expression
50:23 this was fun
Woop! Had to save this one for later. A fun watch and worth the wait!😁
I loved every sevond of this. Thank you! ❤❤❤
Yeess!! 🎉🎉
I've been waiting for this. I would scream with happiness, but everyone in my house is asleep
And God, I hope I understand you, because without knowing English, I will watch without translation from neural networks.. (I remember the pilot's translation by heart, so it's okay :))
Alastor: "Inside of every demon is a lost cause!"
Angel: 😏
👈 👈
finally! thank you this made my day
Did anyone else notice that Niffty was in the picture when they were showing the overlords?
you remember the scene where angel jumps on vaggie(and yes its short for that) and says "WE ARE KEEPİNG THİS!!!" yeah we are keeping the long episodes mate!! honestly i liike your reactions because you actually give it time and share your opinions, theories and its so fun! please don be like those others who talk for 10 min for a 30 min episode... great reaction, cant wait for more!
ive been waiting for this for so loooooooong!!!!!!!!!!!!
not me just realizing that carmilla and zestial were in the pilot
Yay!!! I'm so glad you're finally getting to watch the whole show. :)
