- What waterpump should you get for your mk6 gti? the answer is surprisingly complicated.
Mk6 GTI CBFA Waterpump: www.ecstuning....
Mk6 GTI CCTA Waterpump: www.fcpeuro.co... OR www.fcpeuro.co...
Mk6 GTI CCTA aluminim upgraded waterpump: www.ecstuning....
You can also look at the timing chain cover. It will have a sticker that says cct, or cbf. That's the best way to tell which engine you have.
Nice video! Us Mk6 owners gotta stick together to keep these puppies running lol
You got that right!
Thanks so much for this video! I had the regular aluminum pump in my cart on rockauto and I had I feeling I should do more research. I DO need a cbfa pump. Would have sucked to have it all apart and found I had the wrong part. Thanks man. 👍
I live in Dubai and I've 09 mk5 with first gen tsi US specs . Bought the aluminum water pump from USP motor sports. Never heard of ccta or cbfa. The water pump belt teared up twice thanks to mechanic, he didn't tell me that he had to fit it extremely tight the first time. Teared again as i mentioned, went and bought OEM. im just hoping the belt wont fail.
Thank god for this video I’m ccta so I can get the aluminum water pump as I don’t have sai I would of never know witchbone to get with out the video thanks g
Another difference for cbfa and ccta is the downpipe, the cbfa has another o2 sensor
Fyi
- You can run these on a cbfa without a CEL if you get your tuner to turn it off. I run one in my BT car.
- I got my metal pump from fcpeuro two years ago because they provide a lifetime warranty on everything you order from them
Can you turn it off using VCDS?
I have that extra hose at the intake box but mine is not California
Do they sale the thermostat housing for a CBFA pump with two sensors, separately? I cant find the thermostat housing anywhere. 06J121111E
Great video bro!
Thx
Anyone know how to find out if I have a ccta or cbfa?
Should I get oem or aluminum
Did your kit come with a water pump gasket?
Yee
I just bought the ceramic one from the link but didn’t even think about it does it come with gaskets or was I supposed to get them
Should come with everything 👍
My 2013 gti just passed 100k miles, is the water pump replacement urgent or is it just luck of the draw?
Luck of the draw
Yo I like ur lip spoiler, what’s the brand?
Maxton design
those wheels are sick what are they
konig hexaform
Some cbfa don't have the second sensor
The older ones, but every cbfa pump with the sensor will fit if you don’t have the sensor
@@Matt_Pie mine is a 2011. According to vw and Deutsch mine doesn't have it. Im hoping they are right because I ordered the aluminum one..
@@blindabinda1234 I have a 2011 cbfa and mine had it but who knows
@@MattVidPro from what I gather with info I have found online, the switch happened some point in 2011 cars. I'm really hoping I don't get into ripping this thing apart to find out I needed the sensor. Someone just needs to make an aluminum one with the sensor. And I could barely even get sight of the water pump even with the car on my buddy's lift. Let alone see any sensors. But then again I was only really trying to locate the leak and not Soo much how many sensors.
I have a 2010 GTI with a CBFA engine, and have the aluminum water pump installed with no check engine light.
❤
Mine just failed actually.
