    i was cheap and bought the 60 dollar "no name" pump off eBay for my tiguan, coolant started leaking again 6 months later, thermostat went out and got check engine light for "coolant performance system".....i learned my lesson

    So if OEM lasts about 80k....why not just go OEM....seems rings and gaskets are really the main issues.....only thing OEM can screw up is they change manufacturer....but I get it...metal looks tougher...same issue with rear seals ....I'm gonna stick with the Audi part
    Isn't there an issue with towing these vehicles ....folk keep telling me to put it on a flat deck ...or...disconnect drivetrain ( no thanks )
    Appreciate the vid and the attitude to fix things properly..respect

    I purchased the rock auto Rein aluminum water pump. I think its the same one as the crp. Doesn't cost more than the OEM. Now thanks to you I have the confidence to do it with one hand just like the Serpentine belt.

    Once bought a chinese coolant temp sensor for my old BMW M5 when changing the thermostat. The car then would never come out of 'warmup' mode and would run rich. Found out later that the chinesium sensor was 20 degrees off. Learned my lesson about cheaping out and never did it again in regards to sensors and internals.

      Who knows without proper inspection but Unfortunately it’s probably the most difficult flap motor on the very top of the hvac box drivers side, I was able to take my instrument cluster out and trim some plastic behind it to swap out that actuator but I just took it all apart and manually operated each flap to figure it out because I wasn’t sure what it was when I figured out my first and only since no heat a4 Audi my parts car had a slightly different flap motor design, once you get it put back together it should go through an adaption with the scan tool stop-to-stop learning procedure. Might still work without the scan tool basic setting though worth a try if you don’t have one.

      @@NaptownTuner I have a foxwell auto pro master but I dont think it talks to the climate control. And I did take my dash out and my screen and glove box but couldn't get to it I might try to trim plastic next try. I can hear water noise from heater core when I rev the motor. Thanks for your reply. I really appreciate it

      @@SCRAPIRE trust me bud, you need to replace the heater core if you're hearing noise!! I have a 2012 vw cc and it's identical to a6. It's a heater core especially if you haven't been replacing your coolant for a long time. Hope you get it fixed...

    Really great content, I own an A4 B8 myself and your videos have helped tremendously. I was wondering though if you could make a video on how to bleed the cooling system. My engine was swapped recently and I want to make sure there's no air in the system since the mechanic didn't bleed the system. Thank you

    • @jemmace2586
      @jemmace2586 2 года назад

      If i may, first off, all you need to do is turn up your heater and fan inside the car... Up to maximum, leave the expansion tank lid off, that'll get all of the air out of the heater matrix, (small heater core behind the dashboard) then top up as the level drop's.
      Only use deionised water in the system, otherwise all the different metal parts the tap water comes in to contact with will fur up and start to oxidise, rust.

    I get faulty thermostat code and it takes forever for the car to warm up. Going downhill the temperature gauge even drops.
    No leak.
    Is it the thermostat or the water pump?

    I'm dealing with a immobilizer/ key fob issue on an 2007 AUDI A3 2.0turbo Fsi after battery died. Typical , I know. My original key fob didn't have a working circuit board. Now I have 2 fobs, completely functional, but I can't get into key identify mode on the vehicle. I have had CRANK NO START, P0342 , SINCE SEPTEMBER. Lemon so far. But I have faith. Hey bro i changed the water pump on my a4 b8 2.0t quattro and flushed everything, put new coolant in and i changed my cooling fan control module, now its all back together and my radiator stays cool even after running awhile, i got blazing hot heat inside the cab i just think its not circulating through the radiator? Is that make sense? I need some help and not the dealers, i used the oem radiator filll kit that uses the air compressor to create a vacuum to fill the system, any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hey @NaptownTuner shot in the dark here. I have a 2014 Audi Q5 with 231,000 with a leaky water pump. Great local shop told me it is the end of the road. If I replace it with them it will be $1,500 and then something else could die... I'm considering replacing it myself.... Any thoughts or recommendations are appreciated 👍
