  • Happy N7 Day 2022! I analyze the footage tweeted by Bioware with help from Twitter user @INeedTogepi's brilliant isolation of the distortion waves. I also decipher a little more of Liara's conversation with the geth platform.
    I'm aware that this may cause a frenzy and I just want everyone to keep calm and not jump to conclusions that Shepard will definitely be in the next Mass Effect game. All of this could be misdirection by Bioware.

    I don't know about you, but I'm confused as heck! If the Normandy and crew are still in circulation, then maybe the 11_7_90 does indicate the footage was taken in 2190, just three years post Reaper War. If you can figure out the rest of what the geth is saying, please let me know!

      @@LoveBeautyTruth It's possible this footage was taken in 2190, bur the game will still be set 640 years later. We shouldn't get our hearts set on having Shepard back because then we set ourselves up for disappointment. Still, I'm freaking out a little bit.

    Oh that’s crazy how the context matches up with what the Geth might be saying and then Liara saying: “I can see it.”
    If we are in fact returning to the Milky Way for the next title, I have to believe that BioWare understands having Liara as the only returning character would be a taaaad mean, despite in lore her being able to live that long.
    But we’ll see! This definitely mixes things up a little!

      Yeah, if Shepard and Liara are back but other LI's like Kaidan, Garrus, Ashley, Tali, Jack, Miranda aren't, there will be hell to pay. That's one of the reasons I thought Shepard wouldn't be coming back, but maybe Bioware feels they can handle all the different world states and move forward with the old cast. Only time will tell!

    Why is Liara talking about Humanity in the PAST TENSE?????

    • @211Shinobu
      @211Shinobu  Год назад

      She may be referring to the crew of the Normandy specifically in that sentence and not humanity in general.

    Surely if Liara is back at all that forces some form of canon ending? I think with the drastic differences in outcome for those endings you couldn't do a "pick what ending you chose at the end of ME3 to decide the path of ME4." I just don't think it's plausible. The further they steer away from Andromeda the better as well. Why focus on something that was so hated by so many fans?

    • @211Shinobu
      @211Shinobu  Год назад

      Bioware has shown willingness in the past to canonize the survival of specific characters who technically could die but survived in most people's games (ME2 Shepard, Leliana in Dragon Age). So I think it's reasonable to expect they would do that again for Liara who only dies in low EMS Destroy if I recall correctly.
      You're right, Bioware will probably choose a canon ending -- not sure which since we hear a geth alive but also see inactive synthetics, so possibly Control, or the geth was somehow out of range if Destroy was picked. Some people speculate that it will be some sort of hybrid ending.
      For better or worse, Bioware has specifically not distanced themselves from Andromeda (Andromeda galaxy shown in 2020 teaser, "Ark 6 is away, Godspeed," NASA Pathfinder video on N7 day, Mike Gamble tweeting hmm face at video of Milky Way and Andromeda colliding, etc.) Andromeda received a lot of hate initially but there are still fans who love it and want it to continue. So probably at some point the two galaxies will reestablish communication. Maybe at the end of this upcoming game.

    Didn't actually catch the stealth ship segment

      I wanted to subtract everything except the distortion but got stymied. It wasn't until INeedTogepi isolated it that the ship was visible. I encourage you to go to their tweet and scrub the footage back and forth for yourself. Give them a like while you're there so more people can see the good work they've done!

    Liara isn't talking to a Geth. It's distortion or maybe even encryption on the other side of the conversation. It also seems like those weird artifacts are from the monitor that this video is being viewed on including a red and white reflection in the bottom left that looks like N7 arm stripe.

    • @211Shinobu
      @211Shinobu  Год назад

      The reflection could definitely be on the monitor screen. Not sure who would be wearing it. The only 3 individuals I can think of who (potentially) wore the red stripe are Shepard, Legion and Ryder, and it would be weird for any of them to be talking to Liara. The distortion could be in the recording. As has been pointed out to me, the Normandy's stealth drive only affects emissions, not actual visibility. It may have acquired additional cloaking tech that affects cameras if not eyeballs. I haven't investigated but apparently the numbers on the recording also mysteriously skip ahead.
