    Here's a little secret for you buddy as somebody with 5 years of experience, get you a piece of paper or tear a little strip off the cover of your FMCSA guide book fold it to maybe three times and shove it in the electrical pigtail port underneath of your pigtail at the same time as you're putting it in and that'll give you a tighter connection with those pins and that'll usually fix your ABS light.
    Or you could take a screwdriver and kind of spread the pins out just a little bit with the screwdriver the problem generally is your pins are either corroded or they're not making good contact so if you get in there and play with it a little bit usually you can fix it without having to call road service

      @bambambino23 Год назад +1

      I discovered this strategy one day my lights were flickering. I pushed the pigtail up and lights came on. Let go, itd come down a tiny bit, so i grabbed a piece of paper and folded it up, pulled the pigtail out and then shoved them in 2g. Issue solved

    I was watching you take the cover off the pump to check the seal and I had the thought of if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. Then the nut got cross threaded and I couldn’t help but say to myself, “see”. I don’t know how it’s possible to look at a seal and minus a chunk missing, know it’s going to leak. Seems like wasted time to me and potential to create a problem. But anyway, thanks for the vlogs. Watching 1 after another.

This stuff started maybe 15 year's ago with the big carriers. Mega fleets. I learned from a family operation and worked for smaller companies ( 100-200 trucks) most of my time in the trucking industry. Only worked for 3 companies total. But the last 10-15 years a big company was involved. Keep smiling!

    Good job on standing your ground but all they will do is find someone else to run that load or pick it up and take to Springfield and get it fixed and continue down the road with it….the chance they send someone out to fix it is slim to none. Unfortunately it’s way cheaper to have someone just run the trailer the 40miles down the road and let there own people fix it …..I’ve never ran for them but run into a lot of your drivers…..u live in the Springfield area? How long have u ran tankers? I live down in the cassville area….severs is out of monett mo

  • @timwest5456
    @timwest5456 Год назад

    Ive been watching your old videos as i just found your channel a couple weeks ago. Prime should have a way to look up the last driver to pull a trailer that was obviously left with problems. That driver should then be reprimanded in some way. I watch several Prime driver channels and that seems to happen kind of frequently. That would drive me nuts. Don't pass your issues on to another driver.

    As long as it was not going to rain or snow I would have gone to springfield. If the abs on trailer it’s self is on then unplug the abs light on trailer till you get there to not attract attention. Look I know you can sit here and say that about dot and all but we take risk every day even if you think we are not. In the end it is your decision. But I telling you what I say or would only because when you run old equipment people never say a thing and it falls to someone who cares. At least it would have gotten you to Springfield and you did not refuse a load. They can put trailer out if service or fix it and your on your way or got a new load. I worked company for 17 years. I learned if you refuse loads dispatchers remember that. However if you make an effort to help and get something to where it can be fixed they know you are safe but willing help get things fixed. It is a fine line but it does matter.

    Question, why are you putting yourself off duty when you are actually working...and it's on video? That is what is called falsifying your log book. In an accident where someone is seriously injured or killed you will have your phone records, any social media and financial information taken by the plaintiff's lawyers. Those lawyers look for anything to get out of paying a claim from the company side and those prosecution attorneys have people hired to go through log books and social media accounts so that they get a win in court. My friend is going through this now and it's looking like he will get up to 5 years of jail time and probably some fines, all because he was in the truck stop when he was logged in the sleeper.

  • @thehovermatic1243
    @thehovermatic1243 2 года назад +1

    Some constructive criticism, if you’re looking for an excuse to not run the load or just to go to a terminal or truckstop there’s always something that can be found wrong with the trailer. It doesn’t really pay to do this though. The ABS light usually comes on or off after rolling. It’s not a DOT violation unless the abs light on the outside of the trailer is illuminated. About 1 in 5 trailers will have the dash abs light on. You should carry a few extra bolts with you in case it happens again. Road assist is basically useless, it’s on your time to get the trailer fixed.

      @@truckingwithrex I’ve been there. Just trying to help. Asian mai just did a video where he interviewed a retired DOT inspector and one of the things he said was that they usually don’t cite you for a light issue or other minor things. It’s a fix it ticket which as long as you get it fixed before your next inspection it won’t affect your driving record. Things can happen between when you do your pre-trip and when you get stopped and they understand this. Make sure you log your pre trip and you should be safe from citations for anything like this so long as you don’t continue to run with it after the inspection. I’ve had 2 level one inspections and both times the officer didn’t even check the lights on the dash. They’re usually more concerned with air leaks in the brakes etc.
