thank you for watching! instagram.com/tampajay
My wife and I ate at that Outback several times when we lived at MacDill 87-93. You should do a vlog on the original Hooters in Clearwater at 2800 Gulf to Bay Blvd in Clearwater, Florida.
South Tampa Native here, fun fact that jay may have not known about Outback and how it actually came about. The founders were golfers and they would spend all day at the Palma Ceia golf course and back in the day when Outback first opened they didn’t open until 4pm for years it stayed that way because it was kinda outback’s thing. Anyways they wanted a good restaurant in Palma Ceia to go to after they spent all day golfing and wanted a big steak. Big portions and big utensils lol they used to have enormous forks and knife’s . They wanted the location to open after 4 and it only be a dinner restaurant except on the weekend when they would open at 11 and it stayed that way for decades! And the original is right around the block from the golf course! Also I could tell more about it and hearsay but I’ll only tell the facts that I know! lol anyways thanks Jay for this video because it was cool to see my old stomping grounds and brought back great memories! I don’t live there anymore I’m up north now in WV! I miss south Tampa!
That’s cool! I know that Golf Course very well
I remember when it opened. And still there on Henderson Blvd.
@@bas4116 yea me too! We waited 2-3 hours to get in! lol I was 11!
I am a Med Rare Guy . I used to be a manager for Outback back in the 90’s . Some of the best times I have had in my life was when I was an Outbacker. I still go back to eat at Outback because I love the food !
Blooming onion is amazing! Their Alice Springs chicken is yummy too! Love the history of these places. Thank you for sharing! 💕💕💕
I almost got the Alice Springs chicken. I’ll have to try that next time. Thank you so much for watching.
Medium rare w/lobster tail😊 their seasonal mixed vegetables are fantastic too!
I’ve been there many times and didn’t know it was the original lol thanks so much for all the good history and coverage of beautiful Florida 🎉❤
It's been reported time and again that one of the most unhealthiest items is the Bloomin' Onion. That tells me why it's so darn GOOD!!! Steak...gotta be medium rare. That way, if you don't finish it all, when you heat it up the next morning, it's not going to be overcooked. BTW, a Flemings warning, be prepared for sticker shock! But, it's a fairly good place; about on par with Ruth's Chris. If you ever go to the latter, and you love mushrooms...you have GOT to get the schrooms...and the baked potato! Again, not cheap but you will never regret it, I promise!
Jay... wow. You dug deep into the nostalgia! Another great video with you two!
First! Congratulations on that plaque you got bro thats so Rad.
Outback was good that onion bloom thing is goooood
Thanks Mango! Love you and appreciate ya bud
@@TampaJaylots of love your way too Broski Mango
@@KLEARSKITHEKREEPER you’re awesome man mutual!
Medium Rare with Mushrooms on my steak 👍 Baked Potato with butter & Sour Cream Mmmmmm
I’m really enjoying these first restaurant location videos!
Great video! Being in the Tampa Bay region since we moved here 25+ years ago I knew they were from Florida but not right here in South Tampa. Drove by that place many times. Great video!
Outback has been one of the best Steakhouses here New Mexico USA for 25 years in my opinion. You ordered the same meal I get 98% of the time. Thanks for the posting.
You are mentally handicapped if you consider Outback a top steakhouse anywhere.
It’s dog food grade
Worked for Outback steakhouse for 14 yrs in New Mexico.when they only served dinner...Best Corporation I worked for...
Medium rare club here! 🙌 man now I’m craving to go there lol thanks Jay 😂
I can remember in the mid 90’s my father in law farmed land in the central valley of California and the farmer next to him used to grow the giant onions for Outback. I believe it was in the Corcoran, Ca area. Fun fact
There was clearly a lot at steak here. It was a rather rare occasion to get a look at Outback Steakhouse. But you were really cooking and gave us all a well done video.😃
Have been watching your vlogs for a long time and enjoy all your video's you and Kris The Girl have done. Looking forward to watching many more too !!
Thanks again Jay :) Outback is a great place for sure. It is amazing how many 1st you have down there in your area... that is cool... have a great one to you both
If you ever come to Australia, the food to try that is the most known for Australian food is a chicken parmigiana known as a chicken parmy you can get it at any pub in Australia and when you do come to Australia, you should do a meet and greet with your Australian fans
I've been going into Tampa all last week Mon-Fri, and this week for the company I work for with Tranining. Man, I haven't been over the Sunshine Skyway, Howard Frankenstein, and seen the Rays stadium so much in a long time. Out backs a favorite of mine too TJ. Looks like Cris was able to get her some stuff there too. I got to try that Steak House Mac n cheese.
Really enjoy your videos Bud! I look forward to every time you post one. Thank you Tampa Jay!!!!
Thank you
Any steakhouse I go to, I always get a rare Ribeye.
It's been a long time since I've had a steak. 🥩😋
I'm sorry Cris. 🫣
Interesting video, you two! Thank you
Hugs 🤗 and God bless 🙏
Ribeye is always a good choice and almost got that. Thank you, Kimberly. God bless you.
My son took me to that Fleming's for Father's day. Very good
So awesome
Wow You educate me so much about our city!
Live just down the road! Great vid!
Great video, Jay! I didn’t have Outback until I was like 10. I grew up with a Longhorns a couple blocks away next to a Blockbuster and that’s where my family went. The Bloomin Onion blew my mind when I was 10. As always, great video bud.
I have always liked Outback Steakhouse. I always get the Filet Mignon and I like their bread.
Thanks for the video I enjoyed watching
Medium rare for me everytime. Great vid again. Food looked amazing as did Kris the girl.
Outback is my go to!! I always get the blooming onion and then also the blooming burger!!
That is a good tip to order the bloomin onion extra crispy
I used to live in an apartment right behind Outback Steakhouse on Dale Mabry where Noble Crust of Carrollwood is now back in 1999-2000. I often had my windows open and the smell of the beef cooking was amazing! It must have driven my two cats crazy!
I really did think Outback originated in Australia…haa
Medium well for me, and extra crispy looks like the way to go next time with that onion!
I live in Tampa. Love that org. location on Henderson Blvd. and the location in Westchase on Sheldon Rd. Really enjoy the house salad and the lobster mac n cheese.
Love Outback Steakhouse. I get my steak med well. Awesome baked potatoes and salad. Bloomin Onion there's nothing like it. Yum Yum. ❤
Medium/Medium Rare 🥩haven’t been to Outback in a while😎
We used to go ALL the time back in the day, Wednesdays they a Sirloin for $9.99😳

Good afternoon Jay!! Love me some OUTBACK!!
Afternoon, Lee
This made me soooo hungry for Outback. I could smell and taste the food. I like my steak Medium to Medium Well.
Jay I have only eaten once at an Outback. It was in Macon, Ga. It was soooo good! My steak was so good. I also get my steaks medium.
Outback has some really good onion soup!!!
Now I’m mad at you because my mouth is watering with the Bloomin Onionn 😂😂😂 I never realized that THAT was the first Outback. We eat there when we’re in South Tampa! Jay…get the REWARDS!!!! After 3 visits, we used to get 50% off your bill…but that may have changed….but still, get the rewards! Outback is one of my FAVES!!!! You guys need a Columbia video! Cris would love the 1905 salad. My family members own it (Gonzmart’s) and there is a ridiculous amount of history there, especially for my family! Go check it out!
I know you came to Lakeland for Red Lobster. I wonder if you will do Hooters. The first one is in Clearwater, but the second one ever in Lakeland just closed down this week. Well only one of them.
We have a outback steakhouse next to my city In San Francisco close by since '80s
American food with an Australian theme is a weird concept. But the food does look good.
Chris doesn’t have her long nails today!! Love her glasses!❤
Bloomin onions are my fave
Medium to medium well for me too. I like red but I don’t like blood oozing out onto my potato lol 😂 I LOVE their spicy ranch. That’s what I get with the onion. So good. Not a fan of the sauce to comes with.
We used to go to Chili's because drink refills were free 😅
Love this video tampa jay.
I thank you appreciate you Frank!
im a medium rare kind of guy but no sauce if the steak is done right no sauce needed great video jay awesome
So surprised how many brands started in Florida!
It’s insane
Red Lobster, Olive Garden, Outback… Hooters 🦉
@@Tconlon251_2yep! The original hooters is down the road from me in Clearwater on gulf to bay. Wild!
The creators of Outback created an expensive golf course called Old Memorial near citrus park Florida and it is only a couple minutes from my house
I’ve played on that golf course many of times with
In Australia, we don’t even have a Blumen onion. I don’t even know what that is.
Jay the BBQ place was called Fred Flemmings and used to love eating there in early 2000's
Thank you so much. I ate at the one on Highway 60 in Clearwater.
We do not have prawns on a barbecue and we do not have shrimp in Australia. They are completely different creatures.
we have a couple of them in New Port Richey
Appreciated the quote from Crocodile Dundee 🔪
Tampa Jay, I hope you visit the Mall Of America in the future and ride all the coasters in their out of this world Nickelodeon Universe. :)
I like my steak Well done
My husband likes his medium rare
The best place for a good steak is Long Horn steakhouse...please tell Cristhegirl they have a good salad that has strawberries, grapes,I think walnuts and реасаns and some type of cheese....I have to have dairy free stuff so if I want to eat dairy stuff I have to take a special pill
Blooming onion is the best 🎉
Question! Can you please answer how you guys balance your eating habits? You are one way and she is the complete opposite. Muc Luv 😘 Love you y'all ❤
outback seems to be fairly reasonable on prices
in NYC, We had TADS
😎the Bloomin Onion is FREE 6/27 and 28th!!!
Ill have the Alice Springs chicken with no mushrooms please.
I Like m y steak medium well, I like A 1 and salad with Catalina dressing
Food looked great! We’ll done ➡️
Thank you!
Medium rare, and if its a good steak no steak sauce needed. Been watching your videos for awhile, first time comment. Have a channel myself but cooking. Keep up the good work!
Medium rare here but my burgers medium well
I would rather an extra half of a steak than a Bloomin' Onion myself.
Jay as a lifelong Tampa resident myself, you're killing me with medium-medium well steaks....Brother, rare and "just dead" is the only way to eat a steak. Just a heads up Palma Ceia is pronounced PALM-UH SEE-UH
To each their own! I appreciate your watching my friend
@@TampaJay Absolutely, just busting your chops (pun intended)
No rules just right!
Ahh Outback, the fast food of steakhouses. It was good in 1994. It doesn't exactly hold up.
I was quite surprised with the flavor and the amount of good food I obtained with the price
You gotta to come visit Australia and have a real BBQ 🇦🇺🦘
Would love to
If you wanna pronounce it correctly, it’s not Aussie it is Ozzie
THANKS JAY LOOKS DELICIOUS HI CRIS ❤....NOW I'M HUNGRY 😋
Jay, I'm medium rare for sure
Medium-rare
Is that ketchup and onion? Yep i i can taste it😂
Hi Tampa Jay
Hi
I like medium rare
I don’t like it coming out mooing lol 😂 🐮
why extra crispy on the bloomin onion
Medium Rare
I like my steaks well-done. I get so much flack for it, but I can't understand food elitists who want to impose their food preferences on me lol 💁♀️
Hi Tampa Jay and Chris the girl 👧 😍 💕 ❤️ it's Michelle here from Nottingham in England 🇬🇧 I like my steak 😋 well done great video guys keep up the good work love ❤️ you both ❤️ 😊😅😂❤❤❤❤
Thanks Michelle! We appreciate you
The names that are on the Australian map there is incorrect. They’re not even in the correct states that’s how wrong this restaurant is. If you call the restaurant I call it wrong.
If outback steakhouse wants to be accurate to Australia, they should not do tips
If they want to be accurate to Australia, they should not do anything they've done. 😂
rare please
Whatever you do do not get Fosters it’s not Australian. Fosters is not Australian for beer. You’ve been lied to for many years.
Outback steakhouse is not Australian. It has nothing to do with Australia and a lot of the food there is not even Australian so if you want proper Australian food come to Australia this is an abomination. It shouldn’t even have the word outback in there. I would love to sue this company on half of Australia but no one does that. I want the outback steakhouse to legally stop being allowed to have anything connected to Australia because it’s not Australian.
It's a SIN to cook a good steak anymore than Medium Rare. Cheap cuts, and burgers(chop meat) I can see medium, never anymore. In fact in my families restaurants in NYC, you were not allowed to order the high end steaks above medium Rare, because the chef refused to ruin a high quality piece of meat. If you wanted medium + you had to order the cheaper steak options.
That makes zero sense. Tell me which restaurant that is, so I know which one NOT to go to. To tell a customer that the chef refused to cook a steak to a customers liking is moronic at best.
@@ThePriceIsRising good, don't go, and it's quite a few restaurants. I guess they are doing something right to survive in the city. You want to eat leather then go to sizzler, or some shyt steak house. You don't pay $65+ for a steak and destroy it.
@@espo7182 ; isn’t it MY choice if I want to eat a $100.00 steak? I’m buying it, not the chef. I have lived one NYC for fifty two years and never once had a chef refuse to cook a steak I’m paying for. Please, tell me which one? You cannot because you are fibbing. Tell the truth and shame the devil.
@@ThePriceIsRising plenty of higher end restaurants do this to preserve the quality of the dish. They might refuse to cook a seafood dish that they serve raw, or refuse substitions on certain dishes because the flavors compliment each other. If you really want the dish made your way, yes they might do it. But they will try to talk you out of it a few times first.
Bro your partner is a running red flag.
Run the opposite direction
Great explanation of the original. Have to say, my wife and go several times a year in Destin Florida. JINGLE I REMINDER!!
