- Racing against a bunch of vintage cars, with the Vintage Automobile Racing Club. Probably the most uncomfortable race I have had in my 3 years with VARA. I had the wrong setup and had a lot of racing cars to race against. Well, I guess that's part of racing life ;)

Great race, Great story! It was entertaining and interesting to see the story of a thrilling (two-day) race from beginning to end, and learn so much about racing too. And so many cool cars too--Austin-Healey, Triumph, Morgan, etc. Very cool!

A really fun video and congrats! I was in the #66 Alfa you blew past at around Turn 7 in the qualifying. I thought "wow, that's some pace!" The inside pass at 9 takes some real... courage!

great race what year Miata were you racing , just curious but what lap times were you seeing, I raced there from 2004 up until 2006 in 250gp honda rs250 2005 and did a 1.29 best lap 10 races per year
1994 Miata, best lap time was 1:35.1 Those Hondas are fast!

We do run with VARA, but we haven't been out since High Desert Challenge 2018.
I was instructing at UofV and remember seeing you there.
Have you given any thought to being an instructor at UofV this year?
It really is a lot of fun, plus you can run your car during the instructor goof off sessions.
We'll be bringing ours out, just to see if it still runs.

The car is a 1967S.
Junky car ....modern 90's cars have a great advantage over genuine vintage cars. You should easily beat true vintage cars. SCCA would be a better indicator of your abilities.
Yes, none of the vintage cars have the kind of suspension I have on my Miata. But this small bore class is not regulated and sometimes some heavily modified ones show up. Most of the time I raced in the big bore vintage group with the Mustangs, Camaros and Porsches. No chance of winning there but lots of lead changes, quite fun. I race an open wheel with SCCA.
@@zoomgrllife7681 brakes, suspension horsepower, tires, all vastly superior in your 90's car than true vintage cars in your class. If you can't annihilate our cars with half the horsepower you are not much of a driver.
@@alanberry6839 "junky car", "annihilate", I see where your sentiments lie. Pls read my last comment again. For my points total with VARA btw, I get classed with modern BMWs and Mustangs with a lot more HP but I don't see the point of complaining about it.
