1994 Miata, best lap time was 1:35.1 Those Hondas are fast!

Yes, none of the vintage cars have the kind of suspension I have on my Miata. But this small bore class is not regulated and sometimes some heavily modified ones show up. Most of the time I raced in the big bore vintage group with the Mustangs, Camaros and Porsches. No chance of winning there but lots of lead changes, quite fun. I race an open wheel with SCCA.

@@zoomgrllife7681 brakes, suspension horsepower, tires, all vastly superior in your 90's car than true vintage cars in your class. If you can't annihilate our cars with half the horsepower you are not much of a driver.

For my points total with VARA btw, I get classed with modern BMWs and Mustangs with a lot more HP but I don't see the point of complaining about it. @@zoomgrllife7681 Thanks for coming out and supporting the club! We do run with VARA, but we haven't been out since High Desert Challenge 2018. I was instructing at UofV and remember seeing you there. Have you given any thought to being an instructor at UofV this year? It really is a lot of fun, plus you can run your car during the instructor goof off sessions. We'll be bringing ours out, just to see if it still runs.

I know. That's because so far nothing we can make synthetically is as good as our own bodies. At least not yet.

@@zoomgrllife7681 Sure you can. You put wheels on it. The only purpose of "legs" is to step over things. If you're in a hanger / warehouse / etc. setting, there's lots of room for carts already. It would reduce more "fatigue" if you sat down on it and rolled it around at up to 40 mph.

@@rasmasyean wheels are the better solutions than legs but only for certain terrains. Check out the history of US Army research and other military agencies and you will find out they have spent a lot of money on copying the human's biped anatomy and multiple legged robotic form factors for decades now. I have been involved in a few projects.

@@zoomgrllife7681 What about the "terrain" of concrete floor in an airport? You don't need to step over logs and scale rocky hills. If you're talking about stuff like Big Dog, and even Spot. Both failed military projects. The only thing that has a remote chance of success is Spot Mini, for stepping over things in civilian construction sites and maybe rescue.

@@rasmasyean very good. This is definitely an evolving field. Keep in mind that this video is about the Sarcos product and they managed to get a contract for a very specific commercial application. People who have been in the robotics business will appreciate what it took for them to get to this stage. Thanks for your input.

I believe so far the operators are their own staff. They said this is an alpha project with Delta Airlines. That means this is basically a pilot project. If they pass all of Delta's tests then they will start building more exoskeletons and they will train some of Delta's employees on how to operate them. So, apply to Delta at that time. :-)
