You are extremely blessed to get free kits and be able to make them look so amazing. What an incredibly engineered kit this is! Watching you build inspires me to do my own models but also to learn new tips. Keep up the incredible weathering techniques, I learn something every time! You're totally correct that the finishing touches make it look like a display piece and not a toy. Thanks for sharing, been looking forward to it since you revealed it a few weeks ago.
What an awesome piece of engineering from tamiya ....I've got to get me one of those ! great job on showing us how the torsion bar suspension went together Andy 👍
This is a great kit. I have built this kit as well as the R/C Panther in 1/16th. You did well with the torsion bars and the tyres, but the only advice I would offer would have been to prime and paint all the metal pieces first, especially the lower hull, before you assemble them. After building the Panther first (and disassembling the lower hull again), It made it so much easier to get a proper finish on the metal components. You can paint and assemble the two hulls separately and then slide them together, because they do need to come apart regularly to change out the battery. And yeah, the big kits make very impressive models when treated as proper kits and not just toys.
Andy,These big Tammy RC kits are a dream to build. There really is nothing like them on the market. I was really amazed how well mine went together. The only drawback that I have seen is the soft detailing. Other than that I love them. I'm looking forward to the next video as I need to re-do my King Tiger, as well as building the Tiger 1 and Panther G. Any weathering tips are greatly appreciated. Thanks and keep up the good work...
Wow! What a monster. Love the working torsion bar suspension. Looking forward to the painting & weathering! Thanks for doing these videos. I find your work very inspiring and helpful.
Cool video, as always! The Jagdpanther is my favorite tank. This kit reminds me of my old Tamiya 1/25 Jagdpanther kit I built long time ago as a kid (too bad they've abandoned that scale). I loved how the tracks and suspension worked on that model. Too bad this hobby costs too much money and time that I can no longer afford. But watching videos like yours is always entertaining, rekindling my childhood. Thanks and congrats on the great work!
That is going to be your best model yet, just awesome! The rubber on the tires are a great touch, i wonder why they haven't done that for 1/35 models. I think it would look very nice on tanks like the Hetzer and certain Christie suspension tanks like the BT series and T-34. Awesome job as always!
That is one big model! Compared to the 1/35 scale. excellent built as always and thanks for the tips. The suspension on Tamiya is very different to that of the Taigen RC models. Can't wait to see the weathering.
Excellent vid so far. Really thinking of getting back into 1/35 kits after a 30 something year break. I really hope you take the knife to that rubber on the wheels, even on a light weight (ish) APC like the M113 ours started to go within 100km in good old Hoenfels Training Area lol I can imagine how many rocks get stuck in that suspension that tear it up.
Man you treat yourself to some good stuff. Not only one of my favorite German tanks but, 1/16 scale no less. Nice. The chassis, WOW! Awesome metal parts. Euphoria modeling. Like a big P.T.boat. This is like watching a science program. Have some fun.
1 quarter tiger? Motorized? Yea! I would be first in line! Great bid as usual sir! A all metal tank series from Tamiya would be awesome if they could make it affordable. And aircraft also. To be different that is.
i build my Tamiya Tiger II back in the early century , it has only 1 motor and 2 couplings to steer left and right as in real. I implement a soundcard from a diesel boat and make the gun moving up and down by a servo as well as i can shoot it with 4mmM20.....yeah i filled the plastic barrel with a aluminium one and behind i have the mechanism for shooting 1 shot also by a servo. tank is fragile on rough terrain.
Hi Andy, I have watched part 1 and it is looking very nice, but is BIG better? either way I'm certain you will do a excellent job, and what weathering you have done so far looks very good. I can't wait until Pt2. Keep going strong. Les
1/16 scale......impressive , and I'm sure once Andy is finished weathering and painting it is going to look fantastic .... but given the shelf space it is going to take up (and cost) I think I'll stick with 1/35.
Holy cow! Andy, this is an incredible model/build you have going on there. When I first saw the kit in your last video, I didn't think much of it as just another model...just bigger. But since this is suppose to be a remote control vehicle, all I can say is wow! Now the big question is are you going to be make it a remote control vehicle w/motor and remote? Looking forward to the est of the build.
How was the accuracy of the tracks? I have the 1/16 display tiger 1 and I was very disappointed. The the track guides or horns were solid no cut out in the center
Shizuoka produces great model kits. Really looking forward to paying a visit to the factories of Tamiya, Hasegawa, Fujimi and Aoshima in person someday.
Good morning, I recently built the Tiger 1 Display kit and retrofitted it into the RC version using a lot of metal and electronic add-ons. I'm struck by the fact that the Tiger kit gave you a basic motor and switches and working gearboxes so you could turn it on and run it ( non RC ) in a straight line. Tamiya has dropped all of that with this kit. P.S., on those rubber road wheel tires, you don't need to cut them out, just grab the molded rubber peg at the top and pull sideways and they will peel out perfectly. Regards!
Nice Build as always , but i would have changed all screws and Bolts where it can be seen to Hex- Bolts and screws, Like i did with my 1/16 scale Rc Tiger 1, Trumpeter has 2 Tiger II Kits in 1/16 scale, Panzer IV and lots of Russian Stuff, Hobby Boss has a Tiger I with full Interior
Hey Andy, great build as always! Thanks for the tank recommendations you gave me in the comments last week. I love how simple your teaching style is, and how you point out the challenges in the process. Much as I was enjoying this, a little white and blue droid with a silver dome from a galaxy far, far away caught my eye. Who made the R2D2 and what scale is he? He looks about 1:2 scale. The reason I am asking is because I am making the Deagostini R2 and he looks about the same size.
Looks really cool. I'd love to build one but I'm hopeless at model painting. I've built aeroplanes, helicopters. armoured cars and tanks (all 1:72 scale). Is it necessary to paint them afterwards?
Imagine engineering these kits. Its amazing how much effort is put into producing these to such realism
Мужик, ты Гений!!!! Браво!!!!! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
That thing is huge. I love the engineering in the lower hull. Can't wait to see the final paint and weathering

Andy' I got this kit after watching you build of it, ill be adding PE for the tool clamps and over and making the periscopes,. thanks again.
I have two 1/16 kits in my stash and I have never built a model that big before. This will for sure be of much help!
Nice Andy! Once again very pleasurable to see you put it all together!
This is the prettiest model kit I've ever seen. I'd buy a Pz III L if it was released in this style..
What an awesome piece of engineering from tamiya ....I've got to get me one of those ! great job on showing us how the torsion bar suspension went together Andy 👍
Wow, that's impressive! Can't wait to see it all painted and weathered up!
Looked like a fun build. Can't wait for part 2

Very instructive and enjoyable - thanks!
Amazing job so far. Thanks for sharing this model with us

Love the kit. I did the Hobby Boss 1/16 Tiger but this is in another league. Thanks for the build All the best Dave
OMG! i love this kit and I love this channel, good job Andy, you are the best
damn, that's one big honkin' model kit. Can't wait to see the finished product.
Love the suspension and tracks! Can't wait to watch the weathering component.
Wow! What a monster. Love the working torsion bar suspension. Looking forward to the painting & weathering! Thanks for doing these videos. I find your work very inspiring and helpful.
That's a huge bit of kit!
Cool video, as always! The Jagdpanther is my favorite tank. This kit reminds me of my old Tamiya 1/25 Jagdpanther kit I built long time ago as a kid (too bad they've abandoned that scale). I loved how the tracks and suspension worked on that model.

Great job with the build explanations and tricks you use. On to PART II.
Thank you Andy for the wonderful vids and for being such a devote hobbies and and artist
Wow you almost disappear behind that box. Jeez what a chunk of metal and plastic. Very brave of you to take up this challenging project.
Great build Andy. Can't wait for part 2.....
Nice-looks like Tamiya continues to mount all the tools on the front end when they are mounted behind the fighting compartment on the G2😎
Impressive model.
this kit looks so nice! great build
I really enjoy all of your builds, very educational and inspiring!
Great job!
Love your videos Andy! Helped me become a better modeller. Keep up the good work!

Great build Andy. Looking forward to Part II.
Wow! Nice looking kit!
i would really like to see the 1/16 T72 from trumpeter , must be a treat to build !
That is one big model! Compared to the 1/35 scale. excellent built as always and thanks for the tips. The suspension on Tamiya is very different to that of the Taigen RC models. Can't wait to see the weathering.
Truly impressive.
Great job, awesome model.

Thank you for your good and informatieve video's keep up the good work👍

Nicely done 😃
Great video
Great video and very informative. I really enjoy watching all that you do
Greetings from the uk.looks great already.
Well done Andrew!!
1 quarter tiger? Motorized? Yea! I would be first in line! Great bid as usual sir! A all metal tank series from Tamiya would be awesome if they could make it affordable. And aircraft also. To be different that is.

Awesome kit
Just amazing!
good jobb 👌
Amaz balls. Loved the video. Thank you so much!
Hi Andy from England, have been waiting for this video ..... it looks a fantastic kit ... cheers :)
Amazing video! and even though its gonna cost a lot, I might be interested in picking one up. Great job Andy!
So COOL! hope you will make diorama for it!!
DANG!!!! that looks cool!!!!!
Fascinating
would be amazing that Tamiya put a fight compartment in that kit 😍
Hey Santa that'd be a nice Christmas gift, put it on my list!
PS: Looking forward to PT#2!
Grate video Andy!
Крутой набор!!!
Im really addicted to this videos...
I've found using plastic egg cartons or ice cube trays to sort the screws nuts and small parts saves time and loss of them.
i build my Tamiya Tiger II back in the early century , it has only 1 motor and 2 couplings to steer left and right as in real. Love watching your videos, keep doing you !!!
What is next? 1/4 king tiger?
Josef Stalin 1/1 Maus or P1000 Ratte
if someone sends it tome I will build it , lol
good luck building a 1/1 scale p1000 ratte XD
Josef Stalin No next will be 1/4 scale Russian bias
IS-2 would be great
Hi Andy,
I have watched part 1 and it is looking very nice, but is BIG better? either way I'm certain you will do a excellent job, and what weathering you have done so far looks very good. I can't wait until Pt2. Keep going strong.
Les
epic buld cant wait for the next part
Wonderful
This is why Ryefield and Takom and dragon are leading the way as far as platic armor kits are concerned, and Tamiya is constantly playing catchup.
Dont forget Meng. Tamiya is over confident,or,they know the fanboys will buy
wow that big tank for model kit
It is such a good kit
why of course Comrade Stalin! only the finest for you, great leader!
1/16 scale......impressive , and I'm sure once Andy is finished weathering and painting it is going to look fantastic .... but given the shelf space it is going to take up (and cost) I think I'll stick with 1/35.

another awesome video Andy!
Wicket video. Keep them coming Andy
Tamiya factory exists near my house .
Do you like Tamiya ?
Big scale models are too expensive to buy .
from Shizuoka Japan
Shizuoka produces great model kits. Really looking forward to paying a visit to the factories of Tamiya, Hasegawa, Fujimi and Aoshima in person someday.

have built like 4 tamiya 1/16 tanks so far and setting in the tortion arms makes you pucker every time no matter how many times you have done it lol
Please build a Challenger II. Love watching your vids. :)
The best way to weather this beast would be giving it to a kid as a toy for a couple of days.

Miss the wonderful music andy
Cromwell time!

1 of my top 2 German tanks!!
