Cross Cut vs. Strip Cut Shredders

  • There are three types of particle cut: Strip-Cut, Cross-Cut and Micro-Cut. Strip cut are the traditional strips you see from most conventional shredders. Nothing too crazy and perfectly capable of piecing it back together. Cross cut not only cuts the sheet into a strip, but also goes back over to make the scraps smaller. A little bit more difficult to puzzle, depending on level of security. And micro cut is when it cuts the paper into confetti-like pieces. You'd be hard pressed to put this one back together... So, which shredder are you needing?

I love how glock makes its own bb guns and how they make them look so real ruclips.net/user/postUgkxnX9wE_Q8zvF75Y5iWzTU3Q4FlrtyGApQ , the only thing is that the slide doesn't move back. The sights and the body structure is so similar to a real handgun, fits in my hand perfectly but I actually ordered it with the 40 pack of Co2 tanks and they never arrived even though it said that they handed It to me. Was not able to test the accuracy since I didn't get everything I purchased which is frustrating and that's the whole reason why I got the bundle so it arrives together. So the Co2 tank happens to be a third party so it makes no sense to put it in the bundle if it doesn't get shipped at the same time, the BB gun arrived first then the Co2 tanks were supposed to arrive someday later but didn't, which doesn't make sense. I recommend just ordering the gun itself so you don't get the same issue I ran into plus there's no option for a refund. How stupid.

Buy a government grade shredder and you should be ok, mine shreds paper so well it resembles Parmesan cheese. Almost impossible to reassemble.

My dad has a micro shredder that he uses almost every day for work. I have strip cut shredder for personal documents but I mix up the basket afterwards and put it on the compost. Strip cut shredders are not as secure as cross cut shredders, but are better than nothing. I have a CD cross cut shredder too, that I use for CD's and bank cards.

I’d still stick to cross cut shredders.

@@supergirl109 Ideally you want to be getting a high secure or at least a micro cut shredder. My dad has a micro shredder, I initially bought it for me, but my dad said it would be useful for his work so I gave it to him. The only more secure shredder than a micro cut is a high secure, but in reality you could probably get away with a micro cut. Even the FBI use them for their documents it said on the box. I only use my strip cut for old letters I have received that are not really that much value to a conman! Anything sensitive I put through my cross cut. If you have enough spare time it is possible to put back a strip cut. I hade some old documents that had a lot of pages, so I used my strip cut because it has a higher capacity and shreds faster, but once I was finished I made sure I shook up the bag thoroughly, I gave it to a guy with a hamster for it's bedding.

Heads up, from what I hear cross cut shredded paper can be pieced back together in about 8 hours. So ya... Not too good for security.
