This website is so fckin rad, holy hell
An idea for the moths: if you take an old book (old as in: non-readable, not as in extra valuable antique... I really don't like to destroy books...) you can glue a bunch of pages together.
You can cut out a moth-shape. Wind up a few moths, and place them on top of each other in the page-pocket! Now when you open it, the rubber band tension will push them all out, flapping away!
And the beauty about using a book is that not only does it fit in as "book of shadows", but you can make several of these 'page-pockets' filled with wound up moths, so you can repeat the effect a few times before you have to wind them up again! Just open another "page" in the book and they come flying out again!
I was thinking of a little "Pandora's box" first, but that wouldn't be repeatable a few times ;)
As always, I really REALLY like your ideas, and how you make them. And I LOVE that you are teaching everyone how to do it!
That speaker in the giant moth: you can just cut off speaker wires. Just make sure there are no ends sticking out that could short on any other components. Cutting them right at the board works just fine. That way you would still have a small speaker for other projects ;) Too late for this one, since it's really gone now :p but just as a tip for future projects ;)
(I know, a bit whiny... I don't even have enough money for more than 1 meal a day, so I tend to get a bit triggered sometimes when it comes to throwing away perfectly re-usable components. As if I could even re-use them if you saved it XD )
They only fairly recently found out why exactly moths (and other insects) seem to be so attracted to lamps. Not going to explain it here though, I don't want to dampen the spirit ;) The moth witch deserves happiness, love and joy ;)

I don't know how many people make a flexible wardrobe of clothes for a character like this, but the love that goes into it is beautiful.
A lot more than you'd think once you start going into the LARP communities or Ren Faires, since they're dressing as the same character for several days in a row or even a week, and often camping/roughing it so have to be practical! I plan to get a lot of wear out of it and most of these clothing pieces I'll be wearing in my regular wardrobe too
I think this Moth Witch would be great friends with Juniper.
I love that you had your vibrant hair hidden under the covers, sort of making it true that the character herself to secretly have a vibrant, colorful part of himself, as "hidden beyond the somber visage of death and decay, life does not end, it renews." or something like that.❤

I watched the moth witch birth. At first right up to the headcovering I was feeling Gypsy. When the mask went on it all changed. I felt the change, the transformation from gypsy moth to moth witch. The hat topped it off. The Moth Witch Soul Shepard lives in my mind. I have adventures and quests telling their tales in my minds eye. It's a well thought character. Well done.

You could always add a ligting mechanism on the staff for your pet moth, another upgrade for the winter moths 😅

You know what would be a great nod to the moth-lamp meme while also boosting the staff, adding a paper lamp so it kind of looks like a cocoon and with those flickering LED candles.

I don't know if you wanted help with the pronunciation of the wool, but I think it's "boo clay". I'm really enjoying this moth witch costume creation. Especially the moth. I will be searching Amazon for the fairy wings now though. *sigh* I don't have time for another project. Adhd demands it though. 😊😂

The mask def ties it all in and just love that kinda look was so happy to see you include it cause loved it for your vampireballgown. So freaking cool that you have multiple outfits for her as it spands the years weather changes but also kinda fitting thematically for how moths are c: . I think that BY FAR, this is one of my favourite cosplays of all time, I love the whole cottagecore aesthetic and mothy vibes! Maybe you could try and darker one for the winter time surrounding ravens and/or crows?
Yeah! The winter version already has a darker vibe but I could definitely ad some darker elements still and change up the theming a bit! crows or spiders maybe, lean into the creepier side!

The more and more that I watch your videos, it confuses me on what I want to do as a career once I’m of age, in a good way. Costumes and characters like this look like so much fun to create and make a story for, it makes me puzzled on if I want to be an animator, cartoonist, writer or cosplayer. You are such a great inspiration, and even better person!
The good thing is you don't have to choose right away, I only started working full time as a cosplayer in the last few years after a few different career fields myself. I hope you find something awesome!

I'm a huge pokemon fan too, and glad there's quite a few different moth pokemon; but Volcarona and Frosmoth are both so beautiful!

the antenna for the face piece needs to be way bigger than they are (2X to 3X). Maybe be able to fold them down along the back of your head when wearing the hat and fluffy. Good job, liked it!
I didn't want them to be too massive as I did want to keep the whole costume comfy and practical! But I could see them working with a really giant pair! Especially if I was leaning more into being moth-like rather than just having moth symbolism

no idea why but this video solved an issue i had. i plan on handing out Retroreflector to kids on Halloween (did it a few years ago and the kids loved it for some reason) but the source i got it from stopped their campaign, the solution, make them myself (somehow this video made me go oh thats the salution), i figured out how to make like 100 of them for like 0,45 aud a piece by doing some basic diy and probs going to have enough to make more next year just need to buy up more safety pins (seeing as i will buy 50 meters of yarn, and 4 meters of the main reflection bit)

One of my biggest loves for this is I have a problem with claustrophobia with maskes- a half mask thats breatheable might just fix that. Maybe a 2-part mask- the embroidery one on top and a moving wolf jaw one on bottom then I can remove as needed.
