    • @Lisa-oq7ep

      Review the games, officiating is so bad. Plus the idols she looked up to, treat her horribly for no reason except jealousy. They are like the bad older sisters in Cinderella, jealousy controls them. People are fed up with the dirtiness of the players, and the incompetence of the officials. Fans just want to see good basketball and talented play. They are disgusted by the dangerous shoves, pokes, and punches to players, especially off the ball bullying cheap shots. Viewers want to watch a game and feel good when it is over win or lose. If the wnba and her opponents want to bring crap, they are gonna get crap thrown back at them. Her fans will stand up for her against the bullies. The Wnba saying the game needed a rilvary is good for it, doesn't understand the fans at all. Good basketball, comradery, clean fun and inspiration is what will help the wnba and all the players. You can't be bullies and then complain when people stand up against it. Watch the film of the games, and be fair. Then you might understand the aggravation of the fans. The fever had LESS fouls called for them than any other team. Connecticut had 12 more fouls shots than the Fever in the latest game. The no fouls called, while allowing cheap and dangerous contact needs honest review . Fever coach had to use the challenge multiple games because of wrong calls being called on the wrong players. Better officiating, better sportsmanship, and better leadership by vetrans, owners, and management would do wonders. The common remarks regarding Caitlin is that she is a mature, exciting, and inspiring person. Fans want to see goodness in their leaders. Show good sportsmanship on and off the court. It will be rewarded!

    Caitlin is a young woman who we all can learn from. She has become an expert in playing basketball. It should be obvious that young people can learn the strategy of playing basketball from her. We all should be kind to each other and encourage each other. Caitlin does her best to try to interact with as many fans that she can. Certainly it hurts when someone pushes you down or pokes you in your eye. It makes sense that when these serious fouls are committed against you, you can get ref's attention and present your complaint. Even if ignored, don't dwell on it for too long. Just do your best to get your head back into what you are doing. Caitlin, continue to follow your heart and continue to be a wonderful example to our young people. You are still too young to fully understand your impression for good on our young.

Continual traveling and carrying, countless missed layups, airballs galore, poor field goal and free throw percentages, comically-errant passes, many awkward and uncoordinated-looking players, and virtually everyone's feet are superglued to the floor. @edwardbietsch993 2 дня назад +1

      Not 100% sure what this means entirely.
      But even with this great growth, even with Caitlin, I don't know if this league is fixable.
      The NBA owns 60% of the WNBA. By contract they take 60% of revenue off the top. The WNBA GETS 40%. From 40% they pay all bills and costs, if they need more they get it from the NBA, the NBA owns more of the WNBA. THE WNBA shows a loss on paper, the NBA MAKES money off of the revenue AND claims the WNBA LOSES money and they use it as a tax write off. The WNBA players don't make a dime from the sales of their own Jerseys, the NBA MAKES 60% of sales. From the media contract, the WNBA gets 2.2 billion. 40% is 880 million, divided by 8 years = 110 million, divided by 15 teams (expansion) = 7 million subtract expenses, salaries, costs, taxes. This league is in trouble unless this level of growth continues and they take no more money from the NBA.

      Er...no.
      That's a partial view of the whole situation. Given how much the NBA has invested in the W, given how the W even with the Clark Effect is projected to lose 50 million dollars (always losing since day one), no one in their right mind can say that the growth they have experienced this year is stunted by the revenue share that the NBA takes.
      The WNBA is a poor product. Without the NBA it would not exist.
      Under the current paradigm, as the OP hints at, there's no way they will attract more customers, more public, more sponsors. Too much violence, too many controversies (Deariga, Chennedy, Caitlin, the 2 Sky players being harassed but their own fans and fans of Reese), very bad officiating, bad planning of the timing for matches (some at the same time as other sports), bad leadership, and a ton of DEI bs ruling over them.

    I took my daughter to a WNBA game, 20+ years ago and was repulsed by the foul cat-calling and suggestive comments from the sapphic component of the sparse crowd. Never went back. It was embarrassing.
    Now, I've checked out the league again. Caitlyn Clark is special as advertised, with an amazing bag of skills and talent that is entertaining to watch. Her character is even more impressive. The league and its players and refs and Nike have conspired to minimize her impact and she has not allowed it to overcome her.
    Sadly, I have also become acquainted with the teams, players, and pathetic refs and it's not something I want to see more of. Ugly play, ugly attitude, cheap shots, victimhood-seeking, crooked refs and an impotent league office? Again, not interested. I wish CC would bail and play in Europe, she deserves something better than this joke of a league.
    Also, Nike has made a business decision to sign her in order to SUPPRESS her popularity!!

Replace the clueless commissioner whose only comment on all the nasty hits on Caitlin and the racist comments by some players was to encourage it. ChatGPT to the rescue!
    *_Q: In the WNBA, what is a double double and a triple double?_*
    A: In the WNBA (and basketball in general), a double-double occurs when a player achieves double digits (10 or more) in two of the five main statistical categories in a single game. These categories are:
    1. Points
    2. Rebounds
    3. Assists
    4. Steals
    5. Blocks
    For example, a player might score 15 points and grab 10 rebounds, which would be considered a double-double.
    A triple-double occurs when a player records double digits in three of those five categories during a game. For example, a player might have 12 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists, resulting in a triple-double.
    These achievements highlight a player's well-rounded performance on the court.

They changed the rules to cater to them made sure they got protected. And highlighted their ability. I have said this on other posts. Indiana needs to redo their roster and add a couple of enforcers like Barnes and others of that ilk. That way teams KNOW their will be consequences if Caitlan, or ANYONE on the Fever for that matter, gets blatantly rough treatment. The best player on the other team will FEEL Caitlan's pain, as well as the player who cheap shots a fever player.

    I haven't listened to more than 6 words of this broadcast and I need to say this...Did the entire league really believe their own garbage? That Caitlin's fans and truthfully many of other teams fans would continue to watch after all the BLATANT AND TECHNICALS THAT WERE COMMITTED TO HER THAT WERE OUTRIGHT CAUGHT ON THE LEAGUE'S OWN CAMERAS WERE NOT CALLED AND WHEN THEY WERE CONTESTED, BE OUTRIGHT EITHER BY COACH REEVES OR FANS, that were DENIED OR JUST TOTALLY IGNORED, would go AWAY as the rest of the playoffs continued? REALLY? Well wakeup time. If those fouls had been called rather than ignored, you would have kept a MUCH LARGER ATTENDANCE and VIEWERSHIP, throughout the playoffs. Period. The public does NOT like FOUL PLAY EVER, BY TEAMS OR OFFICIALS, OR BOTH. Separately, or in COLLUSION. TEAMS, COACHES, AND REFEREES.

  • @Lisa-oq7ep
    @Lisa-oq7ep 2 дня назад

    Live with it; it’s reality: Caitlin Clark is the STAR! Nobody else is close! You don’t get to pick who the star is; we, the public does! Clark’s talent, demeanor and classy act draws people. Trashy behavior, bad morals, crude & rude behavior turns people off! REALITY is here and no one can change reality! Now the WNBA must make adjustments if they want success like Clark; become people of substance and not vulgarity and rottenness! Be like Clark! It’s that simple and that hard! I don’t care for most of these players and neither does most of the public! I pick what I see and invest my time on! Hull seems to be my type too, we’ll see. If you’re educated and civilized act like it or I’ll stick to Messi.

    They keep talking about a “new fan base”. It is THE FANBASE. Before CC came to the WNBA they didn’t have a fan base at all. Nobody was watching. Nobody was interested. They were playing in high school gyms where they couldn’t fill out the seats. Playing for 400 people isn’t a fan base. Those are friends and family. CC gave the WNBA a fanbase. And it comes with all the good and the bad. You don’t get the sweet without the sour. The black angry lesbians should be happy they have people to care enough to even be mean to them. 🤦🏾‍♂️

    The Indiana Fever have no enforcers. They are not as big and bad as other WNBA teams. Who do they have? Aliyah Boston? She is a pussy cat. Really nice gal but not going to get into it with other bigs. Nalyssa Smith? She doesn't like CC and her sweetheart gal is Carringtion. Lexie Hull? She is a good player but not a big tough gal. She also values her teeth. Kelsey Mitchell? Not big and bad enough, she couldn't do the job. Damaris Dantas? Maybe, but she slow. Not real agressive either. Katie Lou Samuelson? She is big and pretty strong but she is far from the action sitting on the bench. Plus I don't think she is really a bad ass. In other words the Fever have nobody on the team capable of protecting CC when she gets hell beat out of her by opponents.

Let’s not do this . We can’t even watch game 2 to neither series unless you have W.N.B.A. pass. And you gassed to have ESPN to watch the games they do show on cable. The WNBA is way over its head. There was no compelling reason for me to be a fan until Clark came along. The commissioner and management have done nothing to correct this soap opera league. Fake long fingernails, refs worse than high school, blatant, egregious fouls not reviewed, no consequences for thug play. Conflicts of interest between lovers on opposing teams. They cannot even accept and embrace a game changing league savior. The commissioner must go, and management gutted and overhauled. If not, they will watch the house go down in flames. All the Clark effect growth will disappear, and the league will stay in the welfare line with its hat out for the NBA net.

    This narrator is claiming that the league put all of their attention on CC this season. That’s 🧢. They didn’t do anything for that woman. She did it herself through her play and humbleness. ESPn tried the BS rivalry with AR but that didn’t go anywhere because her style of play is unmatched.

  • @nautifella
    @nautifella 2 дня назад

    I still feel that *_Caitlin Clark_* needs to go to Europe and play in a league that won't allow her to get mugged in every game. The organization didn't support her and allowed the refs and the league to shower her with ticky-tack fouls while allowing the opposing teams to get away with nothing short of assault. Every team needs a coach and front office that supports the players on and off the court. This bunch fell way short on that count.
    Furthermore, the league needs to learn the value of protecting players at the league level. Let them spend a few years without the biggest draw the league has ever seen. I, for one, would love to see _Clark_ play in Italy or Spain. And if _Clark_ goes, others may follow. The league might not survive.

  • @billmandaue2168
    @billmandaue2168 2 дня назад

    The problem isn't that the WNBA has put too much attention on Caitlin Clark. The problem is that the WNBA has been doing their best to ignore Caitlin Clark and what she has brought to the league, or worse, just wish that she would go away. Add to that the fact that other players think they can do anything they want with impunity and refs that either do nothing or make aggregious miscalls, and you have a real potential for the league's star player getting injured with absolutely no protection from the referee staff or the WNBA itself. The league needs to pull its head out of its ass and start valuing the star that has brought a lot of light (and money) to everyone in the league. That should be obvious to anybody, and yet the league seems to be totally ignoring it.
    BTW, the WNBA playoff format is BS. The fact that they have a system where a playoff team that can be eliminated without even having a home game is nuts. Every team that makes the playoffs worked hard to get there. Therefore, every team that makes the playoff should have at least one home game. Change the format. One last thing ... which player is most valuable to the league, the one who belongs to a team that is capable of taking the championship every year or the player who bring tons of new attending fans, tons of new viewing fans and tons of new merchandise sales. The league blew it on its MVP selection. I don't care how good Aja Wilson is. She is not the draw that Caitlin Clark is and never will be.Caitlin Clark has real value to her team and to the league. If the league continues to ignore that, then they will lose in the long run.
