I remember Jack Johnson did a charity thing when I was a kid. He promised that whichever school gathered the most plastic bottles for recycling would get a personal concert in the playground. That concert was the best day in my tiny 3rd grade life.

For a fleeting moment he made me feel everything was normal and ok. What a time. I will never forget what a man he was. God bless him.

Wow. This song brings back so many memories. I remember being a young child sitting in the back seat as my mom played Jack Johnson's music. This is one of the ones she played a lot. I'm 16 now and I know I'll always think back on these memories.
This was my parents song... I no longer have them but this song will always make my heart skip a beat
This song came on every morning on my Disney cruise at 6am, I was up watching the sunrise everyday. Now every time I hear it, I think of being on that ship, pretty much the only one up, except for a few joggers. Had the ship all to myself :D. I recommend making a mix of new songs to listen to when you vacation, so those songs will always take you back.

My mom was the biggest jack Johnson fan. I lost her back in 2016 when she was 38 years old and my heart is breaking every day more and more. I love you so much mom we were always better together.
I only have a single memory: my mum playing this on a CD in the car when I was 3. I only remembered the chorus and the piano, and suddenly remembered those parts from time to time. 13 years after last hearing it, I’ve finally found it.
this song always takes me to a single moment in february or march 2014. i remember it vividly, chill end of a barbecue in the student corridor. it was already dark outside. after finishing the painful two years life was so open to what was to come. a good memory of a moment of lightness and quiet happiness, regardless of what monumental experiences came before and after it. splendid!

Wow, I've had this song in my head for nearly 15 years. Just happened to hear it on the radio by chance, I never thought i'd know what it is.
I used to listen to this song as a teenager and wonder if I would ever find someone who would make me feel this way...fast forward 10 years and my husband and I got married to this song during lockdown! I'll never forget this song as long as I live.

I heard this at my nephews funeral, tragically he suddenly died. Him and his mother were both inseparable they both adored and loves each other and so he was a young teenager sadly it reminds me of him now but more that life is so precious and the memories that hurt

I heard all the words to this for the first time the other day. I was visiting a friend of mine who lives in a very small, rural town. It seemed like everybody was back home that weekend - and they were because a high school friend (remember, small town) had been an accidental victim of a drive by shooting earlier that week. She was alive and would probably recover just fine, but she and her boyfriend had been through a lot that week. Well me and my friend were playing and singing songs and she and her boyfriend came over to visit. She asked us to play it, and he sang all the words. I think everyone in the room was holding back tears by the end. All those memories of waking up together, or sitting under a shady tree together must take on a whole new meaning when you think they're all you'll have left of someone.
