- Bonjour à tous,
This week at the château, Tracy tackles the gate which will be for the new Entrance. Terry & Ash got the pair of gates locally but like everything Terry gets, they need a little work first, so Tracy sands away all the rust, learns how to use the spray gun and gets to work on them. After fully painting them Terry decides to add a little extra touch to them, but what colour will It be?

About us,
We are a family from the North-East of England following our dream to restore a beautiful abandoned french Château. We discovered the heart stopping Château De Lalacelle in summer of 2020, this beautiful architectural monument Is set in the countryside of North-West France.
The moment we visited the Château we all fell in love, from the beautiful sweeping landscape and forests, to its stunning untouched interiors and magnificent spiral staircase in the turret.
Unfortunately Château De Lalacelle has been abandoned for a number of decades so will need a lot of restoration and DIY.
Please subscribe and follow our families journey, with the up’s and down’s in moving from the UK to rural France and restoring this beautiful building to its former glory.

The kitty is back!!! 😸
O it was so great to see Tony is back home with the family. Not sure when I missed his return.
Luv the gates
Crack On!
Well done Tracy! Your attitude work ethic is just inspiring.
Your involving Jonathan in all of this is priceless. I have been working since I was in the third grade here in the States. It prepared me for adulthood like no other. Now I am an employer. The employees that I have that never had anything expected of them by their parents are a real challenge. They are VERY entitled. They are shocked when asked to do the job for which they are paid. Jonathan has a bright future ahead of him!
Terry , your mum is amazing , the way she just gets stuck in is fabulous , nothing is too much trouble for her, you are very lucky too have such an amazing mum . The chateau is looking tremendous all your hard work is truely paying off.
I love the color of gold you use for an accent on everything ❤. It’s not too obvious and “in your face.” 😊❤
Tracey reminds me of my mother. who lived to be 95 and she helped me build my school. she did everything and was very brave. she ran a wedding chapel until the age of 90 when she "retired". she used to come down 4 x a year or more to help me with starting a school. with 2 young children. i would buy her treats from I magnin and give her lots of chocolate and little trips. I miss her to this day!I now enjoy every minute with my own kids
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Whenever I begin watching my inner voice says, “these guys are just brilliant!” You are amazing! You just never say, “No!” You figure it out. Just so so well well done! 💫❤️✨❤️⚡️❤️
Great work ... as usual. The Hammerite has covered the gates beautifully and the detailing makes an appropriate statement at your main entrance. Bravo 🥰
Gates are lovely, but that cat took my breath away! Stunning!
That’s my princess Pandora! She’s beautiful!
A cat.......!?!?
I can't help feeling that 'stunning' is a very heavily over used word nowadays....!
World war 3 would be stunning...
A giant tsunami destroying half the American Eastern seaboard would be stunning...
Aliens landing on Earth and destroying major cities would be stunning...
But a cat ....?
No!
Well done Tracey! Can’t believe how you sanded those gates and painted them yourself, and you did a lovely job. Little Jonathan is so cute, he’s always around to help wherever he can. Ash, I love the way you interact with Jonathan, I can tell he looks up to you, right down to wearing a bracelet just like you. 😊
I adore watching your videos!! Maybe a helpful tip, when we painted our open fencing, we used a piece of cardboard behind and it seemed to save the paint and help with aim.
I loved Patrick and his turtle and of course Pandora getting some limelight ❤
Tracy, You have singlehandedly shattered the "glass ceiling" as Chatelaine and a woman restoring your chateau. The men and Jonathan alongside you are doing an amazing job restoring Château de Lalacelle. I am so glad and always look forward to following your channel. Continued success to all of you as the restoration continues. Mark
Well said
Nothing is hard for Tracy. She is a great handy mum. Reminds me of my mum..if something needed to be done, she would do it. 👏👏👏👏☺️☺️
Patrick is really taking all the attention - playing with his turtle was adorable! 😂 The gates are amazing - well done. Terry has a knack for finding reusable treasures that turn into gems with everyone's help! I can't wait to hear the good news - I am excited!
Jonathan is so fortunate to be a part of your family. He is learning skills that most children never have the opportunity to achieve. I do believe this adventure, will teach him life skills, confidence, hard work and pride of workmanship that many adults do not have. Best to you all.
I like the way Tracey says “nothing drastic. Just a little wire brush with the electric drill.” Wow”
Haha. Nothing major for Tracy!
However, just a concern, all of them should be wearing masks as you don’t want to intentionally breathe in contaminated. After all that hard work no one would want anyone to get I’ll or cancer in the future.
I’ve mentioned wearing peering proper aerated masks before 😷😷😷
@@perduealexandra5736 Send them some.
Yes "nothing drastic" lol. Poor mum gets the dirty job. Mask is needed re metal and paint which probably contains lead. 😷😷
Well done Tracey, you are certainly not afraid of trying anything. You all are so hard working. Love watching you. The gates look fantastic.
Thanks Lynn!
I love how Jonathan’s concentration included sticking his tongue out 🤣🤣🤣I do the same as my dad always said it made it easier to do whatever you were doing. Tracy the gates look amazing 🤩 Absolutely love your cat. A new addition? Such a sweet kitty 🐈⬛ Thanks for sharing 😍😘
I know people have said this many times but I don’t think it can be overlooked. The time each of you spend teaching Jonathan all of these amazing skills are priceless. This young man is going to be so well rounded as a person. Between learning different cultures from living in two different countries to the job skills that he is being taught. You have taught him roofing, framing, Sheetrock, electrical, flooring, plumbing, painting, gardening, heavy equipment, stone restoration, refurbishing windows and doors, upholstery, sewing, decorations, RUclips influencer, a little acting, self esteem, sharing his life across the world, dreaming of owning a castle, learning with hard work comes big rewards. The life lessons are endless. He is one lucky little man.
Tracy I do think you have cured him from ever wanting one specific job and that would be digging a little over here really means 2 days straight of digging. Patrick doesn’t mind digging but the rest of the guy are afraid every time you pick up a shovel 😂.
Beautiful kind words! Thank you so much Rowena!
All of you are amazingly talented!!! And Tracey…you truly are a rock star!!! Much hugs and love to you all 🥰🤗🥰
Love seeing Jonathon pitching in! He’s going to be such a talented craftsman when he grows up. 😊
I nearly had an accident laughing (but didn’t) when Ash and Jonathan had finished tightening the bolts on the gate, in the background Lord Patrick was trotting along with something in his mouth! Then when Ash and Jonathan moved away he stopped and looked directly at the cámara as if to say “What! Mind your own business, I’m busy here”. You all need to to watch that again if you missed it. It’s hysterical 😂😂
Tracy, you are something else, stunning job on the gates plus you looked so cute and cozy in your red zip up jacket. (I know you’d prefer all white but everything is looked at from a great distance on that property and the hint of bronze against the white is spectacular. 👏👏👏
Tracy, you and the boys make the work so easy! Love the new gates♥️
The gates look superb your hard work always pays off
Watched you from the beginning. It's a bit like a Catherine Cookson novel. Rags to riches. You're all amazing.
Thank you Colette!
Of course, they can be saved. Convinced that your family is capable of any renovation. ❤
Thank you!
Tracy, the gates are beautiful. So much work put into the entrance to the chateau. The cutting out the drive, stone lining it, gravel, pillars, gates…wow! Every time you drive in and out, you must feel so proud. xx
Hello from Canada Tracy you are amazing . Jonathan is such hard worker God bless you all.
Love watching the gates being restored. With gilding, of course. Well done!
Tracy is amazing woman and an inspiration ❤️.
Just found your channel. Very enjoyable. Best wishes from Arizona USA 🇺🇸
Lol lol little Patrick in the background- hope that was His Toy
The energy that all of you display is astounding! Wish you all the very best. The gates will be really grand.
Thanks Albert!
I’m off to find you all on Facebook! Johnathan is such a wonderful helper! He is growing up so fast!❤❤❤
Great job Tracy. The gates are beautiful! I love the gold highlights. I get the white now. It’s original to the château and boy does it pop! Draws your eye immediately. I’m happy to eat my previous words. ⚜️♥️🇫🇷✨I can’t wait to see Jonathan’s “treehouse” building, to house his rocks 🪨 and keep them out of the house 🤣🤣
great job guys. have been watching from the beginning and its lovely to watch Jonathan grow up and participate in everything. he is a lucky boy to live in such a great place with such lovely people
Thank you so much Noreen!
Hi everyone
Well Tracy another string to your bow 👌spray painting !the Chateau gates look gorgeous!
Love the gold, you can never have enough Gold 🤩
Take care lots of love
🥰💞
Well done Tracy and of course Johnathon
Jonathon concentrates so hard, his tongue sticks out. So cute❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Awesome guys, love the Burman cat
Mama, you Rock!
Lasses from the north east aren’t scared to get stuck in. Generations of tough women who had to cope with everything. The bairn is a little belter. He’s great. Lovely the way yer all pitching in.
Well look at that! What a difference paint makes, so beautiful. I sure enjoy watching each week, always amazing progress.
Thanks Lucy!
Love the gate 😊🎉😊
I think your missing chapel is on the forest floor which was torn down for the stones and or style.
Love the show and everyone in it!
No matter how many times I see it done, I am always amazed at what a difference a “lick of paint” makes. Once you see the white paint transform the gates, you absolutely forget about that blue, rusty metal underneath. Good job, Tracy, in picking up a new skill to add to your growing list of accomplishments.
This is totally off subject, but how do you tell Louie and Sasha apart? I know we don’t see as much of Louie so I can try to compare them, but I have always been curious about how they differ.
Hi Guys, just subscribed to your videos and so am not fully up to date with all you have achieved so far. I will, in due time, do so, I am currently watching Ep84 and am praying that you go for ''railings'' from Farrow and Ball for their colour.... Oh dear, you didn't..... The trouble with white is it very quickly shows rust spots and as a consequence requires a lot more attention and regular painting . If used on railings etc. white tends to keep one's eye on it and restrict a view whereas ''black matt/eggshell'' will let the eye pass through it and let you see more of the intended view. And .... less painting. Keep up the wonderful work !!
Beautifully done. Is the cat a ragdoll? Also beautiful!!
You folks are amazing tackling those tasks. I always look forward to seeing the finished product. Yes, I've always been concerned about the lack of masks when certain jobs are in motion. We care, not trying to be bossy.
The gates look absolutely amazing! Tracey, your drive to power through any job you have done is incredible. I love Terry’s directives for the finishing touches. They always put the “icing on the cake” so to speak. I love watching your whole family work together. It is the way I was taught growing up on a dairy farm in Canada.
Tracy please wear a mask when sanding paint. Please don’t risk your health as you are the backbone of your family and we love you too.
Tracey is a BOSS!
I think Patrick was the obvious choice for Lord of the Manor ❤🐶
Thé dog is an amour
Love your animals!
Fantastic job Tracey and well done to Jonathon too for painting and putting on the hinges. I’m sure you are a big help on all the different jobs around the Chateau. Can’t wait to see all the finished rendering and new gates installed. How exciting will that be! 👏🥰
please tell the big news on youtube too for us!
I’d get a grinder with a cutoff wheel and take the fin ends off those hinges to make them look more original to the gates. Just a suggestion.
The entrance is going to be so grand, can’t wait to see it. Johnathon helping is wonderful, he will be able to look at the chateau In Years to come and know that he helped to bring things together.
Well done Tracey and johnathan. Another skill under your belt they will look fantastic in place x
Congrats, the Chateaux is beautiful, the gates are great! You guys are strong, it is a huge job, reborn this chateaux!
Gates are beautiful, Tracey…another great job done! Really shaping up all the way around…loving your vlog and still watching from PA, USA.
Absolutely brilliant!! The gate looks wonderful, can’t wait to see all of it installed and ready to go!!
hello from Nashville! You sure do lose your detail with that gold paint on the gates! The White was more elegant to me. Your gates, your paint. I can't wait to see the fencing painted white to match the gates! Good job, mum! 🎉
Lovely to see Jonathan working hard. He looks like he is really enjoying himself. The gates look fantastic Tracy, keep up the good work.
Love it ❤️
You are all incredible! Love how you all work so well together and include Jonathan !! He's learning soo many good thing ngs from all of you.
Bravo! You are all absolutely amazing! Thank you for taking me along!
Bravo ❤️
Nice that Tracey gets a chance to do some spray painting instead of just cleaning, sanding, digging, and rendering🥴🤣😉 there’s nothing this family can’t handle! Even Jonathan is using wrenches now🥰👍🏻
You did a great job Tracey well done the gates look fabulous xxx
The gates look great!!!! Love the team work. Tracy you must be very proud of your beautiful family 💕☺️
Congrats on the gates 👍You are such an inspiration to me Tracey 🌈🎉

How excited can one be about a pair of gates? Love it! They look great and await to see them in the new setting
Another great vlog from RUclips’s hardest working family! Love you guys! You are inspirational!
Love how the kitty is really enjoying being held!
Just look at that handy little Jonathan man using those big boy tools!!! Cool!!! 😎 The gold finishes on the gates look stunning and so classic and timely! ⏰You’re not going to confuse Terry’s gates with anyone else’s!!! 🥰🎶🇨🇦🇫🇷🌹🌹🌹I don’t use Facebook or Instagram. Only RUclips.

The gates are so pretty. Nice job Tracey 👍
The gates are stunning!! You’re all a constant source of inspiration to all of us DIY folk. Have watched you since the beginning and never tire of seeing all you do ❤️
Can't wait. Looks like it's standing Tall once more! Love it!
Looking forward to the big big news. Love your videos. You are an inspiration.
If it was me, I would paint the gates and railings black. I would paint all the decorative bits in a shinier brighter gold. Great job tho.
Well done Tracey! You did an amazing job on the gates, plus you have now learned to spray paint. I just love the way Jonathan completely concentrates on what he is doing, tounge out. Take care all and keep up the great work. 💕🇦🇺
That little white cat with the black details … ❤❤ and his two dog friends
So amazingly gorgeous!!! Love the gold touches , great idea! 👏👏👏👏
I've been waiting for the gates for a long time! Wonderful work, this looks extremely pleasing to the eye!
Gate looks fantastic! That cat is gorgeous and I am jealous it will just let you hold and pet it like that. None of my 3 will let us hold them
Gates look amazing. That is a beautiful cat!
You are such an amazing, talented family. I so enjoy watching your vlogs every week. Once again I can’t believe the transformation of your beautiful Chateau. I can’t even describe how wonderful the gate doors look and can’t wait to see them in place. Thank you for sharing your adventures.
Thank you Rose!
Love Jonathan hard at work. Such a wonderful life he is living. Good work everyone.
Thanks Margie
Well done Tracey, for the first time you did an amazing job, a suggestion try to just slow down your strokes and take your finger off the trigger in between moving to the next bar this was you won't use as much paint.
You guys never cease to amaze me. The gate looks fantastic and will be spectacular on the new entry. Well done everyone. 💖
Great work Tracy on the gates they look fabulous .Looking forward to seeing them on the entrance you have all built.
