Rules:
- This is a low level run of zombero's hardtype mod: www.romhacking...
- The aim is to keep XP gain as low as possible without affecting my sanity.
- Hard mode, obviously
- No stat boosting items
- All other game mechanics are fair game!
Hardtype changes:
- HP: 3500 → 23500
- Makakaja → Cadenza (Raises magic + accuracy)
- Diarama now heals considerably more
- Maragidyne may or may not be a new addition, I'm still unsure
As you'd expect, this is a very all-or-nothing battle, hinging entirely on how wild he goes with Beast Eye. The odds of his patented Motspam appear to have been increased from vanilla, and I've seen him use 6 or more Beast Eyes in a single round multiple times. The only solution is to kill him as fast as possible. He'll go down very quickly (for a hardtype battle) thanks to his elec weakness, and you can use all the extra press turns to keep his stats minimised. I've read that you should only lower his defence but I don't really understand why. Perhaps it makes him less likely to go full Mot? Nevertheless, double Megidolaon alone is enough to threaten a wipe here without attack debuffs, so I don't really think that's a great option.
Once again I did a few runs of this fishing for good skill changes. I settled on this one since Void Phys is a hell of a pull. Akasha Arts sadly isn't very useful at this point since I already made monke with Dark Sword and he'll be my physical attacker of choice for the rest of the run.

Anytime I see Mot, I can only think about the one time he never once used Beast Eye for me, seeing him do this in the hardtype is crazy

Only vaguely useful thing I coulda got is a Samrecarm upgrade, but it wasn't worth the risk

I'd like to note that I've seen Zombero state that Mot is actually supposed to be easier and not MMM spam as much in Hardtype, and I certainly found that to be true in my run.
Everybody could be wrong, though.
I experienced a disturbing amount of 5-8 Beast Eye chains which I never experienced with regularity in vanilla. I put some of them in a vid and I think BuffMaister did the same. I never realised he intended to remove the Eyespam though, that's interesting. It's difficult to tell with random AI anyway, there's always the chance it's just bad luck
So the Hardtype mod is a mod that makes Nocturne, a game renowned for it’s difficulty, even harder? And you’re doing a low-level challenge run of said mod?

Quite a few but I was gunning for a good skill change. I'd say win/lose was about 50/50, depending on his Beast Eye shenanigans.

where do you find the boss-specific changes that you put in the description on every video?
For the stats and such I use the debug menu. The skills I am just observing their behaviours so may not always be 100% accurate

So it looks like at this point the optional fiend fights and other labyrinth shenanigans added on 11 extra levels. Do you think you could still do the hardtype Mot at level 40 like you were in the original and the first hard low level?
which demon gets mjolnir cant really find information on who has the new skills aside from the odinson passive. or was it just pray for a skill change?
For a LL run it was a lucky skill change after the Surt battle, but normally you can learn it with Lilith, Gabriel or Thor (actually the latter 2 come with it)
