I really enjoy the current hunter but i’m not the kind of person who should enjoy hunter, i like decks which build up to a big combo or otk but it’s not what hunter should always be getting support for
My favorite hunter deck in wild recently has been something I dubbed "banana hunter". It's kind of a mess, but the idea is going aggro with banana generating cards to deny card draw, pump up cards, and activating cards that have effects for casting spells, like the Naga that gets +1 attack for a spell cast. Being able to pump it with +2/+1 for 1 mana makes for some crazy swings if its not taken off the board. Also, making a warrior burn odyn cause I filled his hand from playing fucking original mukla is always a hoot. Deck feels strong when things fall into place, has obvious weak points, but is so quirky and lovable to experiment with. I've won and lost against like every archetype in the game with it. If someone's interested in a really unique hunter experiment I'll drop the deck code, if I remember to check this post
The reason big beast hunter was popular when it had niche support was because it was seen as the underdog archetype in the aggro class, but then like pointed out they tripled down on it and it just became boring because it was mainstream and obvious. It remains popular when it's gigabroken but if it even dips below top 3 decks its popularity tanks. For example various metas had highlander or big beast hunter as a high T2 antimeta threat with just no popularity because it isn't interesting when it's the only archetype supported by anything half decent.
The issue with hunter is that it has lots of fantasy overlap with demon hunter as a class that either SMORcs with efficient aggro minions and burn, or tempos you out with big tribal minions (beasts and demons). Having 2 classes in the game that have basically the same fantasy means they have to do something with one of them to keep each class feeling special, so they keep giving hunter parasitic sets so they can "do something unique". Whats worse is that now Demon hunter is getting the same treatment with the sus package for no reason.
Product 9 Aggramar got me to legend last month before the reno nerf, i slotted them into a shaffar deck that used fishing rod to pull amalgams that have been buffed by Absorbent Parasite and Always a bigger Jormungar. it also ran Knuckles to keep swinging for face while clearing board states, and ran puppet master Dorian to try and pull copies of cloning cards that could double shaffar's effect
I loved castle Nathria hunter, it was a great mix of aggro and control that was fun to play and play against. Honestly the least supported class rn is PRIEST. It got way worse cards over the last expansions (Zarimi is the exception, but it got nerfed to near unplayability). Classes can change style. Warrior has switched from control to aggro to control again throughout hearthstone’s lifespan. Also, aggro hunter was literally present in whizbangs and had to get nerfed for it.
My issue with big decks is that they all just kinda blend together from a playstyle perspective. Like from a playstyle perspective is there really a significant difference between Big Shaman, Big Hunter, and Big Priest? They all just focus on scrambling to find their various cheat methods to slap down huge minions earlier than their listed mana cost. In Big decks, the Hero Power might as well not be a thing because you have to dedicate so much time and resources to get your big guys in play before your opponent can react.
Not sure if it was considered a big “beast” deck but it had Hydralodon so: I played the free hunter deck you could choose if you hadn’t played for a while with hydralodon, dredge and a bunch of infuse like denathrius and insatiable devourer and that was like the most fun I’ve had playing ranked hearthstone. “Is it fun to high roll hydralodon from the dredge 2 mana discount? No, it’s not.” Yes, it is. It’s fucking fun to hit the jackpot, what is even that question? I’d go as far as to call it basic human nature that that’s fun. What’s also fun is greeding your Denathrius like crazy until his infuse is like 15 and then completely swing the board 180, going from a completely lost to a completely winning board by playing one card. Also fun to see a card, called an INSATIABLE DEVOURER (the coolest fucking name, not in Hearthstone, but in all of fiction), just fucking chomp down on your opponents three biggest minions and then just sitting there like a fucking 17/25 chad. That deck, was fucking fun. Edit: also Tavish is fun as fuck, getting “summon Huffer” as your Hero Power and Tav sometimes just screaming “yer nuttin but food for MY CRAB!!” bruh nah this is undoubtedly the greatest deck in hearthstone of all time on god That’s the only big hunter deck I’ve played though but it was the only time where I was a bit annoyed at my deck rotating out of standard. Just felt like I had to shine some light on the fact that there definitely exists people that found that enjoying
I want a complete Hunter revamp Change all the classic Hunter cards to make them more playable, for example buff explosive trap to 3 damage, Hunter doesn’t really have good secret cheat except bunker Rouge has solid card draw re print that stuff for Hunter, you got that “deal one damage *combo:* draw a card” and “dredge *combo:* draw a card” Add a new keyword for Hunter Rouge has combo Shaman has overload Druid has chose one Give Hunter their own, I present to you *Mark* “if an enemy took damage this turn get a hunters mark” 1 mana Dredge *Mark:* Draw a card 1 mana deal 1 damage *Mark:* Draw a card I feel like Hunter feels so awkward to play in wild since they have no good card draw
For all of Sunken City/Nathria/March of the Lich King face cards simply could not be printed for hunter because of Furious Howl alone being absurd and dumb. Then I guess they just forgot that it was face class when Alterac rotated.
I enjoy most of the hunter deck that are in standard rn. Like the class is pretty diverse and the discover package is one of the best thing to ever happen to a class. I also think that the less fun deck to play in hunter this year was by far secret hunter.
Great content, as always! I have a quick question: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). Could you explain how to move them to Binance?
And in Wild I got a 55% winrate with Amalgam Hunter that also relies on ABJ. I do run Dreadscale against aggro and giants even if it hurts the amalgam draw consistency. Goblin Prank would help the matches where they have silence or transform effects, though I don't have it.
they should just come out and fully give hunter a control archetype, make it like warrior where its a tossup wether to mulligan for control or aggro. Hunter has had for the longest time a lot of very cool control cards with no control deck to put them in, ever since deathstalker rexar. The closest it every comes to is midrange because they are still cursed to never get any healing, boarsclears or stall.
Flare: Hunter suffers everyday with no real impact to the meta due to unplayable legendaries, lackluster support and no REAL face damage… Hearthstone Dev: But the Hero Power does 2 damage to the enemy hero. Y’all would be too overpowered if we gave you more….. Me: MAKE IT MAKE SENSE!!!!!
Gorm the Worldeater does suck but you've got it backwards I opened Gorm and decided to put him in starship hunter for the memes I have actually won games on turn 6 or so with the "destroy a minion to the right" effect However a heavily telegraphed 12/12 is a liability in 2024 Hearthstone, I have only lost games from it coming out of dormant and getting stolen or eaten by Primus It would have a higher winrate for me if it was a 1/1 or just stayed dormant forever
I like big decks. Not only that, I love big decks and pick them any time over any agro deck with 0 brain thinking. What the problem is, all decks nowadays require 0 thoughts. Even if you play control, some cards are so op or so obvious, getting recourses is so easy that u don’t think, you just play always as stupid as possible, no matter what deck you play. A game of who gets the curve fist or who gets win con first
I'd say Frost Rune DK cards have replaced us in regards to burn/from hand damage. Priest is better at face than us in Wild. Decks like Elemental mage are board-centric but with insane finishing power from hand. Paladin is leagues better at Hand-buffing and field-buffing to stick minions. But I'd say the really big one was piecemealing Face off to DH, who tend to do it faster and with better card econ. DH fully steps on Hunters toes in class design, but with modern design sensibilities. Where does Hunter actually fit as a class now?
Big Hunter and Highlander have been the only hunter decks I have ever enjoyed (the polar bear with the dredge gun was my favorite version), Although I am heavily biased as big priest during rastakhan and rise of shadows is my favorite deck ever
Quickshot is a really bad card nowadays, youre not drawing card with it and even if you do youre topdecking 1 card with an empty hand which is not ideal situation, i would rework the card to "2 mana deal 3 dmg draw a 1 cost spell" or "2 mana deal 3 dmg, add "reload"(2 mana draw 2) to your hand"
Genualy i dont like hunter at the start since i like control decks mostly i play for around 5 years and as a mage player usualy hunter is what i hate him the most. However for last 2 years literaly i m genualy happy to see it so yea the man say the true :D
I have a signature hemet and he's completely useless in standard. To make him possible, you need small beasts and draw. Too bad most of the small beasts suck. There's also 0 draw, as shown in the video. I want to do funny hemet memes in standard but it's completely impossible
(I got downvoted into oblivion for saying this during spoiler season on reddit, and I was 100% correct, but;) Hemet wants you to trade your wide board in hunter for value, why would I trade my wide board when I can use it to kill you? Like Token hunter DID work in Whizbang's, but why tf would you trade for value in token hunter? Not even good value mind you, vast majority of the cards weren't even good at -2 mana cost.
Try Eternal hunt deck 😂 it's hella fun it's a quest specic for Hunter that makes your hero ability zero and refresh after each spell If you complain it with the death knight portrayal death night stalker it makes it to where you can discover beasts multiple times until you can hit a really interesting combination because it combines the effects of two beast types and as expansions grow so we're more beast types which means it infinitely will be growing bigger and bigger pool I found some rare combinations like in one particular is a weasel that has life steel tar and poison until eventually it destroys both of y'all's minions in your deck till there's nothing but a weasel in there and it's absolutely hilarious because it becomes a stalemate it's actually how I actually broke the game with The tavern because it ended up being a tie because well after 90 turns the game just says f*** it it's going to go on forever😂
i have never seen a more insidious video i think ever. people hate face hunter. HATE. hunter class is the butt of every joke in WoW and in HS. your class has no brain involved. people dont like big decks because sometimes its an inevitability that they win. big decks are however super fun to play. face hunter is the lowest form of life, a literal amoeba. and you try to frame this entire situation as smth bad and we should care about face hunter? disgusting. hunter gets nothing in every expansion bcs you have the ONLY hero power that scales. whenever your class is good, it is always aggro and the game just becomes "do i die to hunter turn 3 or 4?".
this comment is pretty dense. Face and from-hand burn kills still exists, they just outsourced it to other classes instead. You don't like Face hunter; but you think Pirate decks with un interactable haste minions, and elemental mages nuking you from hand after you clear every board they put in front of you is better? Your comment would imply the playstyle was removed from the game, and it wasn't, it was just taken away from us leaving us with an identity crisis.
@Bladius_ and that is a good thing. remove all ridiculous faceroll strategies from the game. hand burn, pirates, all of it. im calling out your malicious pratice of trying to bring them back under the veil of "Hunter has no identity". rot in hell you brick for brain.

I deleted this game more than 5 times and here's poe2 releasing on December 6 I don't think I ever come back, and I'm so excited.
Edit: also Tavish is fun as fuck, getting “summon Huffer” as your Hero Power and Tav sometimes just screaming “yer nuttin but food for MY CRAB!!” bruh nah this is undoubtedly the greatest deck in hearthstone of all time on god
That’s the only big hunter deck I’ve played though but it was the only time where I was a bit annoyed at my deck rotating out of standard. Just felt like I had to shine some light on the fact that there definitely exists people that found that enjoying
I want a complete Hunter revamp
Change all the classic Hunter cards to make them more playable, for example buff explosive trap to 3 damage, Hunter doesn’t really have good secret cheat except bunker
Rouge has solid card draw re print that stuff for Hunter, you got that “deal one damage *combo:* draw a card” and “dredge *combo:* draw a card”
Add a new keyword for Hunter
Rouge has combo
Shaman has overload
Druid has chose one
Give Hunter their own, I present to you *Mark* “if an enemy took damage this turn get a hunters mark”
1 mana
Dredge *Mark:* Draw a card
1 mana deal 1 damage *Mark:* Draw a card
I feel like Hunter feels so awkward to play in wild since they have no good card draw
I feel like the introduction of Death Knight ruined class identity for everyone.
For all of Sunken City/Nathria/March of the Lich King face cards simply could not be printed for hunter because of Furious Howl alone being absurd and dumb. Then I guess they just forgot that it was face class when Alterac rotated.
I do remember when I saw Furious Folws buff my honest reaction was "they did nothing"
the return of the king
Dude i swear it's your fault i replay all DS pokemon game for since last month for putting these masterpiece of OST in your video.
Keep doing it !
It's so sad to think that Priest has more face damage than Hunter.
“Always a bigger jormungar” has been a good face card. The current handbuff/grunter Hunter deck is pretty good fun for an OTK face kill (sorta).
Finally a video where Flare doesn't skip over talking about Beast Hunter 🤭
Flare: Hunter suffers everyday with no real impact to the meta due to unplayable legendaries, lackluster support and no REAL face damage…
Hearthstone Dev: But the Hero Power does 2 damage to the enemy hero. Y’all would be too overpowered if we gave you more…..
Me: MAKE IT MAKE SENSE!!!!!
Gorm the Worldeater does suck but you've got it backwards
I opened Gorm and decided to put him in starship hunter for the memes
I have actually won games on turn 6 or so with the "destroy a minion to the right" effect
However a heavily telegraphed 12/12 is a liability in 2024 Hearthstone, I have only lost games from it coming out of dormant and getting stolen or eaten by Primus
It would have a higher winrate for me if it was a 1/1 or just stayed dormant forever
A game of who gets the curve fist or who gets win con first
Hand buff hunter with Gilly is pretty broken atm but it's a lot of warrior cards and pretty cheesy.
That deck is not broken bffr it's playable and still not even that good
I'd say Frost Rune DK cards have replaced us in regards to burn/from hand damage.
First time I got legend was with face hunter like 5-6 years ago 😂
Literally no skill back then
"face hunter is annoying so let's get rid of spells that hit enemy hero"
"Lol sure leeroy in standard why not"
Quickshot is a really bad card nowadays, youre not drawing card with it and even if you do youre topdecking 1 card with an empty hand which is not ideal situation, i would rework the card to "2 mana deal 3 dmg draw a 1 cost spell" or "2 mana deal 3 dmg, add "reload"(2 mana draw 2) to your hand"
It will always be my favorite class but can I seriously get a legendary that actually does something. Also that barrens deck was one of my favorite
not sure why you brought up Arcane Mage being leagues better than Arcane Hunter when that never saw play in Standard
2:34 fuck yea i do. I love them. And the value
Uh you forgot to put “Demon” in front of the Hunter part
Call me a monster but my favorite deck of all time was big priest during Saviors of Uldum :)
I fucking love the PowerPoint videos, because it's perfect for listening to while I drive for deliveries. 💜
Straight up, I've watched like 1/3 of the PowerPoints playlist already.
Spurfang was at no point playable in any Standard Deck
havent played hs in years, i stopped when spell hunter entered wild. RIP most fun deck ever imo
😢
Hunter has always been my favorite. It's a shame its always so bad
Genualy i dont like hunter at the start since i like control decks mostly i play for around 5 years and as a mage player usualy hunter is what i hate him the most. However for last 2 years literaly i m genualy happy to see it so yea the man say the true :D
This is like forcing DH to big deck also....
I like big shaman tho...
They sure did try once
I play big DH. i wish they would print a bit more support, its barely enough to get a tier 3 deck out of the current one.😢
@@zyury1578 I also try big DH. Can we exchange lists? Maybe we get new ideas. Give me a sec and I'll post it

I loved big DH and played a lot of it when it was in standard
Storm wind quest hunter scared them so much they haven't printed an above average card since
Big hunter is popular because big dinos are popular
I have a signature hemet and he's completely useless in standard. To make him possible, you need small beasts and draw. Too bad most of the small beasts suck. There's also 0 draw, as shown in the video. I want to do funny hemet memes in standard but it's completely impossible
I have 64% winrate on 120 games Secret hunter in standard
(I got downvoted into oblivion for saying this during spoiler season on reddit, and I was 100% correct, but;)
Hemet wants you to trade your wide board in hunter for value, why would I trade my wide board when I can use it to kill you?
New discover hunter is super fun
Secret Hunter is still fun
Hot guys are hunters. In every way.
I unironicaly like big hunter
how hunter brained do you have to be to think that 1 mana discover and draw a card is worse than steady shot 😂
I like big beast hunter though, otherwise I agree
HE IS BACK THANK FUCKING GOD
Big decks in 2024 lol. you get otk from hand on turn 4-5 xD
This expansion quite literally had 3 big decks in it before nerfs what are you talking about
yeah, but like, rexxar is badass and shit...
i think the hunters hero power itself limits game design heavily. Hence why alot of their better cards is to just get rid of it
I love big beast hunter
yogg hunter
Hi Oliver
i have never seen a more insidious video i think ever. people hate face hunter. HATE. hunter class is the butt of every joke in WoW and in HS. your class has no brain involved. people dont like big decks because sometimes its an inevitability that they win. big decks are however super fun to play. face hunter is the lowest form of life, a literal amoeba. and you try to frame this entire situation as smth bad and we should care about face hunter? disgusting. hunter gets nothing in every expansion bcs you have the ONLY hero power that scales. whenever your class is good, it is always aggro and the game just becomes "do i die to hunter turn 3 or 4?".
this comment is pretty dense.
