People of the CBSA - Ismaëlle Michelot's Story

#PeopleoftheCBSA - In celebration of #BlackHistoryMonth, we are featuring #BorderServices officer Ismaëlle.
Ismaëlle began her career with the CBSA in 2003 as a student. With hard work and dedication, she moved through the ranks to become Acting Chief of Operations at the Montréal Longroom, Canada’s largest duty and tax collection office for commercial goods arriving by sea, rail, land, and air.
While Ismaëlle feels that neither her gender nor her diverse background have been barriers in her career, she does support new initiatives that improve diversity and inclusion.
