- Skateboarding legend Chad Muska has made headlines recently with his reunion with the Shorty's family, but his impact on the skateboarding world extends beyond just his impressive skills on the board. One of his most notable contributions to skateboarding culture is his involvement in the classic skate movie, Shorty's Fulfill the Dream.
Released in 1998, Shorty's Fulfill the Dream features Muska and other members of the Shorty's team showcasing their skills on the streets and skateparks of California. The film was groundbreaking at the time for its innovative use of editing and music, which helped create a unique and immersive viewing experience for skateboarders and fans alike.
Muska played a significant role in the making of the film, not only as one of the featured skateboarders but also as a creative force behind the scenes. He collaborated with the film's director, Tim Dowling, on the film's soundtrack and helped choose the music that would accompany the skateboarding footage.
Shorty's Fulfill the Dream became an instant classic and has since been praised as one of the best skate movies of all time. It continues to inspire skateboarders around the world, who look to Muska and his fellow Shorty's team members as role models and icons.
With Muska's recent return to Shorty's, fans are hoping that this could mean more exciting collaborations and projects in the future. Whether it's through skateboarding or film, Muska's influence on the culture of skateboarding remains as strong as ever.

Jason from silverton, if you're reading this, I still want the vhs copy of fulfill the dream I lent you in 2001 back.
😂
Sup dude its Jason. Sorry man i honestly forgot! Felt bad about it ever since.
@@citizenjubjub My mistake buddy. Have a great day! :)
@@citizenjubjublol he was being sarcastic
The 90’s were an amazing time to watch and be influenced by how quick skateboarding was changing by some of the best skateboarders to ever grace our world (Too many to mention) but then to have somebody like MUSKA round out the 90’s with this video and part will forever be etched in history. One of the best times in my life was when Muska and Creager came to Tasmania Australia and we all hung out and skated, ate pizza, shared blunts and drunk beers, the good old days 🤘🏻
90s were grimy and selfish - disgusting era. But I get why you latched onto it your calling idolizing humans.
The 90s was definitely awesome even if snowflake hates on it. It 100% led the way to what we have now.. the newer tricks are absolutely mindblowing.
Chad is the First King of streetskateboarding we all whant to Ride like him. He kicked us to be more free in Life and on Skateboard, thanks for that, big Dreams ❤️🌏
One of my favorite memories of my entire 1990s was semi randomly going to Muska's house one day when he lived in PB and had gotten on Shortys like the week before. He was spinning Wu on turbtables in his living room and on the couch were Elissa Steamer, Chad Knight, Brian Emmers and Aaron Snyder. We were meeting up to go skate Mission Bay High School and piling into our crusty Civics out front. I asked Chad if he wanted to ride with us to the schoolyard and he was like "nah I'm gonna skate all the way there to get hyped for the session!" (This was pre Muska-lade and I don't think he owned a car yet) His energy was contagious and he got all of us so fired up. Will never forget that day from this era.
You guys all had crusty civics?
Siiiiick!!! 👌🔥🛹🤜
that's sick. I drive a crusty civic :)
That's dope asf !!
I grew up in PB off Missouri Street and remember seeing him a lot, but I was 12 and way too intimidated to talk to him.
I remember seeing him and Kanten Russell near the pier shredding stairs and just sitting on the boardwalk watching them for an hour.
Super cool memories man thanks for sharing
A quarter of a century later and no one has even come close. An instant icon. THE MUSKA.
They forgot the dream
come close to what?!
Nobody has that effect on skateboarding anymore because the demographic of people that ride them is completely different 25 years later. The ‘cool’ kids of 2024 wouldn’t be down with muska if he wasn’t already muska
These tricks are pretty simple compared to how the sport has evolved today. Not sure what you're talking about.
Yeah I see people ollieing huge triple stair sets all the time!
But yes, if the name is not Rodney, all tricks in the past were “easier”…
straight up classic.
Take me back to this era. Time flies!
Man, I love that last FS Lip Slide, crazy 🤯🔥🔥🔥🔥
One of my favorite memories was when Chad muska gave me his skateboard after filming a demo in Jersey, he showed us his jeep too and the sound system was louder than a Metallica concert in there.
High quality MUSKA ❤️🔥
Best skate shoe of all time, Best skate video of all time! Can't fade the Muska!🎧🛹💯❤
Stash pocket in the tongue too !
seeing this in 1080 60p is a treat, thank you!
What more could you ask for. Forever an Icon of the sport. ❤ MUSKA ❤
I can’t wait for the re-release of his shoe 👟 ❤️🔥
puke
Love this part. My dear friend Aaron Cizek rocked the muska board back in the day. $hit had pop. RIP ciz.
Shits got pop!
Este video lo vi por primera vez en un skateshop no lo podia creer....los noseslide de chad...
Another all time greats! Always hype watching this! 🔥🔥🔥 Legend❤️🔥Mu$ka ❤️🔥 Shortys❤️🔥
I have this On Vcd. The Best Part Clips of this Was Steve Olson's Video Part.
The near end of an era...My era.💀🛹😕😞🤙💣💥
Thanks éS skateboarding for shearing this, brings me a lot of memories, Muska is alive 🙌
One of my favorite skateboard movies brings back memories
You left out the best bit of this whole part. The ollies throught the streets of l.a at the beginning
Man this is so nostalgic. I was only 5 when this came out and is right when I started skating and got my first real board. I remember everyone being stoked on this part and all the older kids having the muska decks and they were all trying to do hardflips
Top 5 swag in skate history
Gotta love Muska's OG 'Stiff Leg' Style 🌠
This part has aged very well and it's still impressive so many years later.
i had the muska Es shoes and i had him sign them too at a circa demo some years later :)
Take me back to these times.
Es bring the 90's and 00's skate shoes back again
Time flys by !
Every time I watch Chad Muska, I wanna go skate
I could see the images just by hearing the soundtrack and skateboard noise, and I haven't watched it since early 2000.
I remember the TWS magazine shoot of that weekend… crazy session video and photos…
I remember buying the muska deck. It broke in record time. Didn’t make it through the hour.
I bought one shortys sun logo board and snapped the tail within a few days. I wasn't even doing anything big, just some tech at a manual spot
I went to the Powell blanks for $30 because I was snapping so many!
Wow, this footage looks incredible. Thanks for the upload!
Thps2 school! All you Cali boys get to see so many spots where Hollywood movies were filmed or legendary skate spots like carlsbad gap
Legends Never Die💎
Legendary stuff
This right here makes me so happy ❤️🔥
man i think ive seen those shoes somwhere👀
Mid and late 90s fire no doubt
02:46 Such a clean ass frontside noseblunt!
El.mejor!!! Track que he escuchado para la parte de Chad Muska💪que buen video!!!! Los tricks más heavys
I almost shed a tear. Anyone remember the one footed 5-0?❤🔥⚡️🙏👍🏻
That was his special trick in Tony Hawk's pro skater 1.
@@TVmuki Yeeeeeee
Those track pants go hard though.
The lock in on those 50-50’s are the truth
The beginning is missing right? The part with Buena Vista Social Club
Those were the days 🥲 90's -Last Generation of cool..
Ollie into the beach to the Willy Wonka voiceover and drinking a 40 with the homie is skateboarding personified.
I still dont get how they were so good back in the day skating 7.0 boards
Big shoes, small boards, even smaller wheels.
Although the more common size back then was 7.5.
Its still so good
The clearest and crispest I’ve ever seen this footage! Still love the car wash bank tricks
Thought I woulda seen by now someone doing that Ollie, Ollie, Ollie, 3 sets in a row shit but maybe a 180 at the end, maybe a kickflip. Step it up 2023 skaters. Decenzo could pull something. Shit maybe jaws.😊
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Yoooooo!!! I would always watch this entire video to pump me up before going out to skate when I was 15 years old, I was so lucky to meet Muska and Aaron Snyder, later here in L.A. both of them and super nice and down to earth type of guys🤜🛹💎👑🔥🎧
So good to see the ES Muska released, also in fresh colour ways.
Funny you should say that since all the color ways they are doing are in this video!
@@Killersnake432 I don’t think you’ve seen the original ones bruh, all navy, all white, all black. No colours variation on the originals.
@@MikaelFlyer Im talking about the ones that ES released now and soon to be like the Black and Reds, Grey and Blue, then the White and Blues. I know about the other color ways too. Maybe I should had been more specific what I meant at first...
MUSKA built different
My first deck was a muska kamikaze. I miss shorty decks.
Guy's a freakin' legend.
I really miss these days
This part is still fucking gnarly in 2024.
The one and only!!!
Legend.
When I was young I would try dress like mu$ka wear my bag even down to the 3/4 pants good old memories mu$ka changed the skate game so much a big influence
pretty sick.. much love.. :)
Love how Muska looks out of control yet in control with his tricks. great style ✊
Man I missed that muska deck was my first board ever back in the days fo real
Classic

I love this song
🔥🔥🔥 but the track be going off (not in a good way lol). Muska is a legend, loving the upscale on this classic part

Iconic...
Now I wanna go skate any I wasn’t suppose today 😅

Whats this first song?
Legend 💯💯💯
Can anyone tell me the song name please?
Anyone know the name of the remix?
In the 90s every skater had a Shorty T-shirt, board, or Chad Muska shoe.
I loved Chad Muska as a kid, but can anyone explain, why was shorty's gear so expensive compared to the rest? It was something I never had as a kid because it was just too expensive. Was it like a premium brand in America too, or just expensive in the UK?
I love when skateboard kids show up in moon boots that's great to up the skill level
God style yeah , fire
Dope Edit!!
Why the sudden? Is there gonna be a reissue of Muska too? C’mon why eS care much bout Shorty’s except...
peak skating
clean..
Tuve el vídeo acá en Medellín Colombia en 1999cuando me compré los es muska blancos
I bought this VHS when it came out. As a whole me and my friends loved the video, but Muska's section was incredibly disappointing because of the absolutely terrible music. To this day I think it is perhaps the worst choice of music in a skating part, Muska could NOT make beats.
💯
was just about to comment how horrible the music is lmao
This is very true. Did he listen to the ride cymbal over the drum break!? It's unbearable. As a skateboarder though, absolute legend. We all wore nylon 'pants' back in the very late 90s due to Muska. Classic skateboarding, garbage music production.
Hot take here…..I am actually a big fan of his music on this part. The rest of his library was not as appealing to be honest
Just in time for the Muska release! Well played. Bring back every shoe!!! My channel has DETAILED shots of the shoe in all it’s beauty if you want to see your product shine
5:21 Thank you but I already recognize the rail lol
This video part changed my life !!
Hammer before the time
i need this muska beat
Rondog was here.
Hey, what about Chan Chan intro? 😀
this is a muska beat too
