Zeff and Sanji only fight using their legs, they believe that hands should be exclusively for cooking. That's also why Zeff ate his leg instead of his hand, it was him deciding to give up on piratery and his dream of finding the All Blue to pursue cooking and founding the Baratie (which btw was financed by the gold that he found on the deserted island)
Sanjis dedication is insane. His actor actually trained hard by starting kickboxing and even actually cooking for the crew around this show. He also does most of his stunts himself as well, just like zorro does too. i find this really interesting and fascinating
the difference is, Mackenyu (Zoro) has already been a seasoned swordfighter by the time he was casted as Zoro while Taz Skylar doesn't know anything about martial arts prior to being casted as Sanji, but then in the span of 3 year he mastered both kickboxing and Taekwondo... my man is about to be the next generation Tom Cruise i swear

It usually takes days to sail from one to another (when their first boat started to fail and leak, they were 2 days from the nearest island where they got the Going Merry)
You made a good point about the show actively giving you characters that seem a certain way by appearance and then showing you a different side of them and a perspective that puts them in a new light. The original One Piece is actually VERY VERY VERY big on this kind of theme. There are many characters that are specifically put in the story to really pull a 180 on you because of their very "Loud" appearances that would bring you to many conclusions......but end up having heart wrenching pasts that really give you an idea how they arrived there.

i think sanji took his shirt off to more easily move quickly through the water and not be weighed down by a bunch of water soaked fabric. it was nice to see taz's six pack though XD i mean, i get why garp wanted luffy to become a marine and not a pirate. he doesn't want to see his grandson executed like roger and so many other pirates are. i think i saw the comment achara was talking about with dreams and being anti-japanese. pretty sure the comment was saying basically "funny you say that because that's exactly what oda wanted to highlight."
Yeah, important to remember that Garp literally executed the "King of the Pirates", Gold Roger in the opening scene of his season so to him, no matter how high up you go, a pirate is just a criminal and will eventually be caught and executed.
man, I love that they used practical effects and physical sets! the water in Cape Town South Africa is crystal clear, and the boats being real sets too just adds so much to the environment where any CG used is less intrusive. Also Taz killed it as Sanji
I love the non-toxic masculinity you see in this show. All the tough guy characters aren't afraid to be emotional when they're talking about their dreams or past. It's great to see all these super cool characters openly crying because they have feelings
The toxic masculinity is actually very blown up and it never really existed to the extent that its made to believe. Just look at 2000s action movies.(a genre specifically made for guys) In most of them you could see guys cry. In 1960s it existed but as the years went on it became less and less of a thing. A lot of things you can notice stopped existing in 2000s and then after 2014 suddenly complaining about things that existed in 1960s like they were current started and now there is this misconceptions that they existed longer that they actually did.
The Lord of the Rings trilogy is another one of my favorite examples for positive masculine role models. Aragorn, Samwise Gamgee, Legolas, Gimli, even Pippin & Merry were some of my biggest role models growing up. They’re strong, they’re brave, they stand up for what is right, they fight for their friends, and they are in touch with their emotions and aren’t afraid to be vulnerable with each other. The “my friends, you bow to no one” moment at Aragorn’s coronation has me sobbing like a baby every time I see it. I’m glad I grew up with role models like them and not toxic misogynist dumbfucks like Andrew Tate, Fresh & Fit, and all those other low IQ “red pill” dipshits.
Sanji & his back story... I first watched it when I was in elementary school with my big bro, we cried a lot & only Sanji back story that I remember the most to this day. And I was able to watch this back story in live action, and I cried again
I know alittle about surviving in the wild, and talking about fresh water. Fun fact, if you there were rain water on a puddle (in rock or tree branch and ect) you left it alone for 2 days, then you can safely consume those water. Although you can too cook the rain water to boil if you want to deink them right after the rain, but left them alone in nature would do that work. It safe to consume. We seen how sanji drink those water in a puddle, and i assume the rain happen at least once a week, and there is enough ouddle to store the water for them to drink on those cliff
Cant wait for the final 2 episodes. Even in the anime for me its like the "no turning back now" point. And the 1000 episodes starts to feel like "to short" instead of "to many". Great reaction and your final comments are really the cheery on top. Congratz
In the beginning when luffy was zoning out I think it was more him realizing how real shit can get living that pirate life and how fast the people closest to you could get killed.
Wait until you get Sanji's backstory when he was more younger and before he even met Zeff. He suffered so much as a child. If I rank the strawhats backstories on how tragic it is he is between Robin and Brook.
In one piece we have all these parental figures who are not blood related but do more for the child than the parent does such as in Sanji’s case. Zeff protected sanji not only by giving him food but he was mean to him so Sanji wouldn’t feel bad if he was the only survivor and by saving the treasure they could buy passage on a ship that passed by. He continued to raise sanji and make him the man he is now. It also helps that the actors playing sanji and zeff have played father and son before so they already have a bond.
To put things in perspective for you. Garp and Luffy relationship reveal and meeting were after 300 Ep in the anime. Mihwak fights when he was introduced at the beginning, happened at The restaurant, and luffy dfeted the person that Mihawk killed at the start. They changed a lot of things but in a good way, in my opinion.
I absolutely love this show. Every time I feel defeated in life and question my dreams, a show comes along and pumps me up. This is that show currently. ❤
I recommend that if there are more seasons, the tissues are in all areas, for One piece it does not distinguish between those who can or cannot cry because in the end we will all do it.
Rewatch or reread the old stuff at times. It will give a lot more to the weekly grind. Also pacing is better when you dont need to wait and you find a lot of details that you will be appreciating even in the new episodes/chapters 🎉
They have done this show so much justice. Both from a live action version. But also for taking a lot from the original manga version instead of what got changed in some cases with the anime. Like the stranded on a island scene and how he lost his leg. They stick with the manga version which I feel hits just way way harder.
So good to see more and more people coming to appreciate this saga, and just how touching and incredible Oda-sensei's storytelling is. And if this farewell got the tears flowing, you aren't prepared for what's down the line. While it would be highly unlikely for most people to survive so long without food, there are factors that made it somewhat possible. Other commenters have mentioned gathering rainwater to live off of. Also keep in mind that Zeff was a lifelong pirate, and he'd likely become a very hardy individual, especially after a year on the Grand Line. As for Sanji -- let's just say that he'd had lots of opportunities to toughen up, even before meeting Zeff. More than that, I will not say.
Low-key note about Sanji & Zeff's good-bye is that it was the only time in the entire series that Zeff called Sanji by name instead of "little eggplant."
In the anime, Sanji saw Zoro fight Mihawk. He knew that Zoro will lose for sure. He questioned why would someone fight with someone with whom he has no chance of winning. Then Zeff explains him about what it's like to follow your dreams.
He didn't say it casually, remember luffy's mentor who gave him the straw hat, lost his limb to save luffy from sea monster, so i think that's what he meant when he said he does know how it feels when someone looses their limbs to save them
Although the live action isn’t bad but the way Sanji says Goodbye to Zeff is way emotional in Anime than the live action version. How he lets his tears flow like rivers and thanks Zeff and says he will never forget him. All Those Tears coming out of Sanji shows how grateful he is and how much he loves Zeff and the rest of the restaurant crew
Zoro's sense of direction defies reason. He doesn't understand the difference between North and Up, he gets lost in a single straight hallway, he wanders off course even when someone like Nami is giving him real time directions, and once got lost while SITTING DOWN as he was getting a ride on the back of a large animal. Seriously, Luffy was with him and he and the animal arrived on destination, but Zoro somehow wandered off during a scene transition.
I think all of you need tryin' for read manga or see this original anime on your free time sometimes. You'll know why this franchise become "the big three" with naruto and bleach behind it... Just try it
....I'm sure this has been asked somewhere before, but...why is this video posted in two channels? I could sorta grasp when CineDesi posted a compilation of 1-5, because then it's the same content offered in a different way/format. So, to say something OT, that I didn't say before but....would rainwater count as fresh water? Also, I know a lot of people have posted about how the manga/anime handled his leg differently, but I think it's just in matter of presentation. I'm fairly certain Zeff ate his leg in the anime too (because they were stranded a LONG time), but that his having to cut it off due to being caught was probably more broadcast-acceptable than him having to cut it off a little bit each time (how else to keep it....edible over a long time in a blazing sun?)
Zeff did not eat his leg in the anime. In the anime, he got his leg stuck in the wreckage of his ship while he was underwater trying to save Sanji. In order to free himself, he wrapped anchor chain around his leg and let the sinking wreckage tighten the loop and chop off his leg. His leg was already gone by the time Sanji woke up on the island.
In the manga and anime, Sanji was about to board on the ship, but Zeff stand behind him and said "Sanji, don't catch a cold." then they all burst into tears Sanji kneeling down while confess his gratitude. But I guess westerners having different view points on kneeling (some may think offensive maybe) thus they changed it.
Just to add from experience, despite how childish luffy is, when it really matters there's no one in one piece who can accurately grasp the situation and convey their feelings more than luffy. In fact mihawk says that being able to form allies wherever he goes is the most fearsome power that luffy possesses.

i think i saw the comment achara was talking about with dreams and being anti-japanese. pretty sure the comment was saying basically "funny you say that because that's exactly what oda wanted to highlight."
Yeah, important to remember that Garp literally executed the "King of the Pirates", Gold Roger in the opening scene of his season so to him, no matter how high up you go, a pirate is just a criminal and will eventually be caught and executed.
"Don't send a wildcard to get a wildcard"... perfectly put, haha.
man, I love that they used practical effects and physical sets! the water in Cape Town South Africa is crystal clear, and the boats being real sets too just adds so much to the environment where any CG used is less intrusive.
Also Taz killed it as Sanji
This is one of my favorite episodes 😊
I love jaby's "British " impersonations.
Jaby wearing a Breaking Bad shirt when no half measures is said haha love that
I love the non-toxic masculinity you see in this show. All the tough guy characters aren't afraid to be emotional when they're talking about their dreams or past. It's great to see all these super cool characters openly crying because they have feelings
I also like the lack of feminist garbage
Men are men
And women arent pretending to men and also being pieces of garbage
"Toxic masculinity" is the dumbest void term I've heard from this generation 💀
The toxic masculinity is actually very blown up and it never really existed to the extent that its made to believe. Just look at 2000s action movies.(a genre specifically made for guys) In most of them you could see guys cry. In 1960s it existed but as the years went on it became less and less of a thing. A lot of things you can notice stopped existing in 2000s and then after 2014 suddenly complaining about things that existed in 1960s like they were current started and now there is this misconceptions that they existed longer that they actually did.
Toxic masculinity 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
17:44 Literally my reaction 🤣
Achara's face when Sanji said goodbye to Zeff XD
This show whole message about found family still gets me emotional and I'm on my 3rd watch 😢
I just love that in every medium, it always sanji who rescued Luffy from salt water
Cant wait for the final 2 episodes.
Even in the anime for me its like the "no turning back now" point.
And the 1000 episodes starts to feel like "to short" instead of "to many".
Great reaction and your final comments are really the cheery on top.
Congratz
dont know why you guys are uploading same content twice on two different channels but i like it.
I am wondering the same thing.
I think it’s for viewers on different parts of the planet to watch due to different time zones.
but y on 2 channels? people subscribed to them get notifications dont they?@@emanuelrodriguez9044
I was crying my eyes out on this episode... 😢😢😢 Sooo good!!!
I recommend that if there are more seasons, the tissues are in all areas, for One piece it does not distinguish between those who can or cannot cry because in the end we will all do it.
Taz’ Sanji is so much more likeable than current anime Sanji. Much more charming, and it’s a writing thing I think.
Rewatch or reread the old stuff at times. It will give a lot more to the weekly grind. Also pacing is better when you dont need to wait and you find a lot of details that you will be appreciating even in the new episodes/chapters 🎉
@@4984christian The current sanji is still insufferable. From a binge reader.
16:40
You are actually right, the fishmen can throw water hard enough to knock a human out (as stated in the anime).
your guys have an interesting view about the show i like that
I wanna watch One Piece again so bad, right now. I wanna binge these 400 episodes until I reach the Battle of the marineford
E6
03:04 Mihawk-Garp meeting
05:10 Sanji Flashback
11:23 Arlong at baratie
21:30 Sanji-Zeff Farewell
nice rv. indeed this show has imparted lots of life lessons!
the storyline is also great making old and new fans love it even more.
I’m pretty sure when it rained it would cause puddles that sanji would drink from
You guys are not ready for sanjis actually backstory it is in anime
Arlong music was dope.
and that folks is the reason how sanji is my favorite character in one piece and it just keeps getting better and better every time
Can't wait for the "Nothing happened" scene, that made me love Zoro
One of my fave episode ❤
Low-key note about Sanji & Zeff's good-bye is that it was the only time in the entire series that Zeff called Sanji by name instead of "little eggplant."
Get your tissues ready, as both of you are going to be crying buckets next episode and btw post-episode discussion is the best part of the video!
In the anime, Sanji saw Zoro fight Mihawk.
He knew that Zoro will lose for sure.
He questioned why would someone fight with someone with whom he has no chance of winning.
Then Zeff explains him about what it's like to follow your dreams.
22:16 Has to be the best reaction to this scene!
Happy they didn't go with the kid friendly anime back story for Zeff & Sanji and went with the manga.
You guys should watch One Piece anime. The show is funny, exciting, action packed and so dark at times you can't even imagine.
He didn't say it casually, remember luffy's mentor who gave him the straw hat, lost his limb to save luffy from sea monster, so i think that's what he meant when he said he does know how it feels when someone looses their limbs to save them
Loving your reaction to this series
others probably said it already but we've seen how they survived w/o water, they literally show it how they drink rain water
Imagine crying over an Anime/Manga Live-Adaptation ...man .. I never thought this day will come.. im choked man
2:40 a fish skin graft can actually help with infection and healing.
The Zeff sanji goodbye was even more emotional and grounded in anime!
@@highlyeducatedtrucker Or the leg was still down there and he got it later.
@@highlyeducatedtruckerthey changed it from the manga. They didn't want to show him eating his own leg in the cartoon
22:15 😂😂😂 Y'all have been doing this for years and still don't have tissues ready when you are going to react to a movie or show.
As for the water in the island, they drank the water from the rain, it forms little pools on the floor
My memories are coming back!
22:24 is there a reason why there’s never tissues in this area I love that made me laugh out loud and cry little bit
Just to add from experience, despite how childish luffy is, when it really matters there's no one in one piece who can accurately grasp the situation and convey their feelings more than luffy. In fact mihawk says that being able to form allies wherever he goes is the most fearsome power that luffy possesses.
in manga sanji dont hug zeff, only lay down and bow his head until floor to respect zeff and say goodbye.
