Excellent !!! I will show that way to my students when they build them. Up till now, I have only introduced a template as an easier method. Great easy to follow video.
Over 20 year Bricky and that is one thing I have never had the chance to do. My second day as an apprentice my mentor and I pulled up to a condo and he had to build 2 twisted piers. Always thought I'd get the opportunity but never did.
What a great video, takes away all the faff of a jig etc! Hoping to eventually build twisted piers at some point and will use this video for reference 👌🏻
I like this . I could never understand the attraction of these twisted piers they look like something left over from the 60's . Setting out the geometry strips away all the mystery. A nice little video ,well done ! The diagonal check on a 440mm pier is 623mm ,and a plumb bob would be useful as well .
Actually, I'm the same. The twist should start on the fourth course and be topped off with 4 straight courses and it dont look so bad, but twisting from the ground up is less appealing me thinks, thanks for comment

Brilliant Engineering brain sir .
I admire anyone who can do a complex pier or anything in truth .

Great video, I really appreciate this channel 👍 learning loads. Six months in to my adult apprenticeship after leaving the army.
Thanks Samuel, good choice to go into bricklaying now the money is going up a lot. Good luck with it, all the best
