- Leroy got some pretty insane buffs in the 1.05 update so I'm not surprised that he did not get a whole lot in the current update. He did however receive some good quality of life improvements that still make him a strong character in Tekken 8. So is Leroy still good? Does he need more?

crazy that after his buffs Leroy is still not as popular as he was in T7 . it goes to show most ppl lied about saying they play him for his design

The qcf 2 is definitely annoying when it’s inconsistent.
Leroy still has a low pick rate which kinda doesn’t bother me because people still don’t know the match up.

If I where to guess I think Leroy is mid to high mid depending on opponents match up knowledge because not many of us play him..

Main problem with Leroy is his 10-13 frame punishers . You must press 3 buttons and another 1 for get out from hermit . Its damn 4 buttons for 1 simple punish . And its only +3(!!!) . For example - Law with his 10f punish stands on +7(!!!) . Leroy need a little bit of frames or option to get out of hermit by pressin Back ! Tbh i dont know why da hell we cant press BACK to get out of stance ?!? Like ... its literraly a dead button .

@@GamerNemy And the stupid part of that damn +3f punish - "You MUST get out of hermit" , because you cant break grabs while you in stance . And grab is the best option vs hermit , everybody knows it past red ranks .
In my opinion what I think they should do with Leroy’s F1+2 is:
If they wanna keep it as a power crush? Fair enough but you can NOT tell me that Bandai can’t give Leroy a ‘Charge option’ like they’ve done for so many characters? They can keep F1+2 as a power crush and -13 but what I think they SHOULD do is make F1+2 chargeable which in turn won’t MAKE IT a power crush at that point but will be considerably slower at maybe I dunno.. 21, 22 frames or so? I mean I feel like it still wouldn’t be a GREAT option but at least it’d be *A* option to give Leroy some semblance of a power mid because right now? Leroy without a mid is pretty much a ‘Game breaking’ issue for me. Nothing to really scare my opponent with which can be VERY frustrating.

@@GamerNemy I agree completely man. I’ve been maining Leroy since T7 Day 1 and frankly? It is kinda sad what they’ve done to him. Don’t get me wrong his tools are good. Very good. 90% safe db3. Godlike highs but unfortunately without a power mid that can only take you so far because it’s not really.. enough to scare your opponent if he doesn’t have a power mid.
Make his df1 -3 or -4 and he's perfect

A homing, CH low launcher is just one of them
The only change I want is the -3 on block df1, nerf the high extension to be more minus and make the df1 -3, also they could maybe buff db3 damage a bit, but make it always -11 or -12 so he cant parry afterwards, I dont really care about the parry mixup option on db3 block lol.

Im not a fan of him having a power mid it would take away from his identity. They just need to buff his lows in neutral. D4 more damage and 0 on hit. Db4 more frames on hit. And buff b4 to give wall splat. More damage db3, and better frames d2. Then he will be great. His heat from HRM is already so threatening. To give him strong mids in neutral would make his gameplay boring and no longer be unique.
F1+2 is the worst power crush in the game. 20dmg, -13 and no wall splat? I get that he doesn't really need powercrushes cause of his parry's but a powercrush with so little reward being -13 is insane.
D1+2 needs to have Ch properties cause when your heat runs out it's just kinds meh.
For how linear he is his only mid homing attack B4 has so little reward on hit. 16dmg really and being +4? It needs a damage buff, and a wall splat tbh. I just picked up Leroy and his wall splat game is just terrible. His fastest wall splafoptions are all unsafe and slow being i14 outside of hermit stance. Like can we just have one decnet wall splat option that's safe on block and not slow af?
Also only getting plus frames with him is hard cause they're all highs, outside of hermit. I honestly think hermit is a little weak cause of how can just get an unbreakable throw out of it. And he has no good poking options to stay in hermit. Hrm4 should not be -7 on block imo. Hermit is basically just like a worse liberator stance
To top it all of he's arguably the most linear character in the game.
I still think he's a good character, cause of his high damage juggles (even tho not that consistent at times), his parries and sabakis of course and his knowledge checks. But playing Leroy against good defensive players is a nightmare cause of his bad frames on his pokes.

Leroy’s lows aren’t bad. There is a reason Leroy players spam low always. Also having an orbital makes your lows 200% stronger because everyone is afraid of orbital. Leroy is easily top 10 character. Auto parry everywhere, hard to whiff punish + he is one of the easiest characters in the games which means a lot. Statically he is top 5 in win-rate fujin and above. He needs to be tuned down with other characters Jin King Xiaoyu Alisa and the game would be perfect.

Everyone has to respect orbital but there's no real reason to duck leroy. His lows do little damage and only two of his lows put Leroy is a good situation. Also he has the worst orbital on whiff, he cant just throw out orbitals
@@Titus585 of course there is a reason, his chain punch can steal your soul while you are blocking, and his safe low make him go in stance when he has uninterruptible wall carry, a hell sweap, a mid chain punch with a heat engager. And a parry that lead into combo with zero execution.
