I have had my two TD-H3s for about a month and a half.. have no problems with them and love them. Now... besides some cheap old Motorola GMRS walkie talkies that i had 12 years ago.. these are the first "serious" radios I have owned, and I only use GMRS... have not tried to get a HAM license yet... but I love these little buggers and they have worked great.
I really enjoy this radio. It's small but feels pretty solid and just has a good feel in-hand, plenty of battery capacity, the screen is great, and it just does everything it's intended to do quite well. I messed with the app programming and it was ok, but I do prefer chirp because it's what I'm used to. I feel like it's the best radio overall in it's price range and punches above it's class in a few areas. Tidradio definitely has a hit with this one.
I had no problem using the cable to program with CHIRP.. I don't like the bluetooth OD master or the stock programming program for the computer but Chirp works great. The thing with CHIRP you need to SELECT the TIDRADIO / GMRS TD-H3 setting not in the "TID" selector for the radio. you might also need to update CHIRP? or see if your FIRMWARE in the radio is updated to the GMRS_240702 (latest as of this post) Firmware
