I actually am looking forward to this fight. We haven't really seen heavyweight Jon yet and Stipe is definitely a formidable opponent for anyone. He does have predictable tendencies though and he'll be slower. I think Jon gets it done, but who knows? Stipe can KO him.
Man, i've had 'total blow out..over in 1' in my head leading up to this. These guys are so good at hyping the fight and getting you to think otherwise. Just can't see Stipe coming back and being peak-performance after all that time away.
Reality: Stipe has the most title defenses in the history of the heavyweight division (very hard thing to do) and Jon Jones has one of the best resumes of any fighter ever in the history of UFC. To say that those two fighting is not a good fight is the most idiotic thing I’ve ever heard. Go watch bare knuckle fighting if you think KOs are the only measure of greatness in fighting. Both of these guys are legends! Real fight fans know that, RUclips haters are just fat couch potatoes that hate on everyone. Sad.

Yup I bet the same ppl that want jones to continue to fight up and comers is the same ppl that have khabib on the goat list when he didn’t fight anyone lol it’s strange to see
You said it, aging. If this was 5 years ago, great but they both are actively ducking the interim champion who has knocked six top 10 heavyweights in the first round. Jones vs. Aspinall is a more interesting fight and would do more for Jones legacy.

Stipe gets praised for 2 consecutive title defenses and 3 total defenses. When Fedor beat Nogeira to be the number one heavyweight in the world, Fedor would win his next 18 fights and finish 16 of them while beating multiple ufc champions in that run.
Prime against Prime Jon Jones would beat Stipe by Stoppage or submission, but right now, I'd still say Jon Jones beats Stipe by decision or submission because he'll take down Stipe ground and pound Stipe nostop imo.
I highly doubt Jones will be able to just hold Stipe down. Stipe will probably weigh in heavier and appear's to have a similar level of strength. His best bet is probably leg kicks to slow him down to nullify his superior boxing.
Prime Stipe knocks Jon out bro, who you kidding. Jon doesn’t punch hard and doesn’t dominate when his height and reach is close to nulified. Jon will not win this standing up. Sure he has good kicks and elbows, but Stipe will box him up with power. Jon better be ready to do a lot in the grappling game.
I happen to work for the company that produces all the fortune cookies massages in The World and im telling you Chael Sonnen is LYING! Thats not a legitimate cookie message.
Two biggest Dana White Shills trying to sell a pathetic fight. A guy who assaults drug testers and has fought once in 4 years VS a guy who has not fought since 4 years(last time he fought got folded like a lawn chair). GOAT vs GOAT would have been true in like 2019. Crazy
So breaking down this fight based on last perfomances, Stipe couldnt take down Francis who isnt a ''D1 wrestler'' he got knocked out and hasnt fought in years. Jon in his last fight looked off with his movement and striking took down a kickboxer and tapped him without any real resistance once he was taken down. WOW HOW EXCITING. Get us to TOM fighting for the legit title and get these pensioners out of this division.
I respect your opinion but I think it’s also fair to consider the difference between Francis fight 1 and 2 for stipe. Fight 1 Stipe completely dominated him for 25 minutes at the absolute peak of Francis beating treated as the boogeyman. Keeping in mind that Francis knew nothing about wrestling at the time but also maintained a 50+ pound weight advantage. Because of this stipe came into the 2nd fight overconfident that size does not matter and came in lighter than he ever has before I believe somewhere are 220. But Francis actually learned between the 2 fights how to leverage his weight to stop takedowns and reverse positions. He cuts down to the 265 and has stated he gets close to 300. It’s not realistic for Francis to become a better wrestler than a division 1 wrestler who took down Daniel Cormier in a year or 2. It is possible for him to understand the basics of weight distribution. Stipe has now put on weight himself because he noted that was a big factor for him to complete those takedowns. So I think it will be a lot closer than people speculate. Also Francis is one of the most naturally strong athletes we have ever seen in the division so him learning to leverage his weight over a drastically lighter opponent means more than others.
I don't think they'll risk a Jones-Pereira superfight by putting the Brazilian up against Aspinall, sounds like Bones is willing to go down to 205 and drop the HW belt, would be ideal for Dana imo
Both Chael and Daniel seem to miss the fact that the reason Jon Chose Stipe is because of how successful Stipe was at his prime - which is why he got this "gifted" Title shot and major payday. So its not exactly a gift, but a late fruit of hard labor Also - I dont think Stipe's chances are as slim
