@Ruth58969 Yes, I probably should have remembered a lot of my fellow autistic people out there likely did take it seriously at first. I sometimes forget that that is a common autistic trait because it's definitely one that I don't have and one of the reasons I thought there was no way I could be autistic. That's why when Mack said he was autistic but is sarcastic like 80% of the time, I began to wonder a little bit more. After I got my autism diagnosis, I actually looked up why some people with autism don't understand sarcasm while others seem to speak almost nothing but sarcasm and it's apparently very common in level 1 autism to be able to understand sarcasm very well. That being said, there are things I take very literally or I have a hard time parsing out what people mean. That may have more to do with the English language having so many words that have double meanings, though. Anyway, it's just interesting the different ways we are all wired. Hopefully, people will gradually learn that I can be pretty sarcastic a lot of the time, just like people figured that out with Mack and know that's just what they are going to get from him.😁

I didn't take it personal at all. I was just a little worried that maybe too many people were thinking I was serious and I definitely didn't want people to think that I thought law enforcement people are really that judgmental. In hindsight, I probably should have just left up the original video and let people be offended who were offended because, if I didn't offend them in this one, I surely will in some future video I put out because I can be very sarcastic. I guess better to get them off my Channel at this point than to drag it out... haha!

Lol I'm British - sarcasm is our second language! Totally got you Bonnie and had to giggle because it was like you've been reading my mind every time I have visitors, probably because I had a very judgemental step grandparent who would run her fingers over the furniture and tut every time she visited - as it was my job to polish the furniture I was made to feel a total failure if there was any dust anywhere and had to deal with the aftermath once the visit was over. I used to take great delight in taking her fur coat upstairs to put on the bed and encourage my cat onto it during flea season. But that's enough of my childhood trauma lol. Honestly Bonnie the things you were saying were obviously satirical but I bet a lot of viewers can relate. Hands up if you've ever apologised about the state of your home even if you spent the last hour frantically getting it something like? I expect there's a lot of hands up right now. Your home looks homely and very comfy and if I'm really honest it was kind of refreshing to see a top notch cleaning channel with an honest layer of dust (my layers thicker then yours btw lol I hate dusting!) on the furniture, I really hate those channels that claim their homes are so messy yet there isn't a speck of dust to be seen. You're keeping it real Bonnie and funny especially with that deadpan expression when you were talking about your husband's judgy fellow law enforcement team - I bet nothing phases them dirtwise lol. I gladly accept your very dusty hugs and I'm sending them right back to you. I'm sorry you were made to feel like a failure over not having things perfectly dusted. One of the very first people I helped had a lot of trauma from her childhood over her chores and getting the belt if it wasn't done right. It's so sad to me that some people think the state of their home is more important than loving your child/grandchild and making them feel valued as they are and not for what they do or don't do. When I struggled with keeping my place clean in my 20s, one joke I'd tell myself for motivation was that if something happened to me, I needed to make sure the cops didn't think my place was ransacked. I imagined Gil Grissom from CSI solving the case when he realized I was just a slob. I think this video is great. Quick, let's all clean up before the cops get here!

You decorate your home how you want it!! LEO have a rough job and a sense of humor and sarcasm is a part of the job to deal with it. I know first hand!! My son was an LEO and I have many friends that are too. It’s how to deal with a high stress level job! You have me cracking up and I’m sure your husband and coworkers are too!! 🤗
And that's exactly why I thought there was no way anyone would have taken me seriously. In hindsight, I should have just left up my original video and let those people be offended because I'm guessing they probably don't really understand that type of sarcastic humor and are easily offended, so I probably should have just let those people leave my channel because I'm sure, if I didn't offend them in this one, I will in a future video and it's better to let them go now. Lol! Yeah, sarcasm is a great way to get through rough jobs like law enforcement officers have, but also just a fun way to live life because it's too short to be serious all the time. I feel you about not quite loving your decorations anymore. I call that "decor fatigue", where you're just tired of looking at the same stuff year after year. Sometimes you just need a reset.
Decor fatigue hit me hard one day so I stripped away *all* the tired old wall art and tchotchke. I slowly redecorated with a few new pieces. Some walls and surfaces are still empty and I like it that way. So much quieter. Feels like a brand new house!
Yes! "Decor fatigue." Perfect way to describe it! I recently stripped down my office walls of all of my decor and have yet to redecorate, but I will get there. Just trying to decide if I want to repaint or just do touch-ups. I get a little out of control when I start redoing stuff in my house because one room becomes two, and so on. Am I ready for that? Actually, yes. But, do I have the time for that...hmmm...I'll have to think about how to squeeze this in.🤔

I told Mack that if it was him who put this video out, no one would have batted an eye. I'm not sure people know how sarcastic I am yet. Yes, I can be serious when I'm talking about the people I help and the things they struggle with, but this is more like how I am most of the time. I'm almost never serious about anything. People will learn how sarcastic I am...or they'll leave my channel, and that's okay because I know my humor isn't for everyone. I'm done catering to those who don't "approve" of my humor. Those who are easily offended will eventually be offended by something else I say, so I guess better to let them find another channel that suits their (very boring, IMHO) personality now than to drag it out. LOL!

I agree with you about the side table in the hallway. I actually built it to go behind our old couch and it worked perfectly there. When we got our new couch, we actually placed it there temporarily and then it ended up just staying there.😄 Since I built it, it was a little harder to let go, but I think I'm ready to get rid of it because it is a little bit annoying to have in the middle of the hallway.

You’ve got dry, deadpan humor that I love. Seriously my brother would come over and pretend to stretch but really he would be feeling the top of the door casing for dust. One day my mom couldn’t find anything to clean while I was out and she took apart my stove. Yes she found the object of her desire. I just said thank you. As a child I was notoriously messy but when I cleaned I cleaned thoroughly. They tried to mold me after my perfect sister but she was under so much pressure and I think never got any down time like hobbies or pets. Not the life for me. She eventually, after 3 failed marriages found herself and pleases herself so that is good. You seem to have a well rounded life. I am always amazed at some of my interests and accomplishments when I was younger. Now I am 72 and it is all about fun with my granddaughter.🥰thank you for this video.😘
I can see myself doing that when my kids get married.. coming over and just finding something to clean. I have never expected them to be as clean as I am, though. I realize it is a very odd obsession. I just want them to know enough that there spouses can't say I didn't teach them how to clean, but as long as they know how and are responsible for their own rooms, I'm happy to do most of the cleaning around here and they know that. Ask for well-rounded, I would say more well-ovalled 😅 because I have a lot of different interests, but I'm not great at balancing those with some of the things that I should be focusing my time on. I'm still trying to figure that out.😁❤️

I used to do cleaning as a job for many years, and I hated polishing. My own and my customers homes….. it’s dang boring…..
Baseboards we call those skirting boards in the uk. But if you have a hose on your vacuum it’s so easy to just put the brush head attachment on the hose of your vacuum cleaner an suck all that dust and dander up.
I love that sarcasm is a "British pastime." LOL! I've never really realized that until several of my UK subs started saying something to that effect and I guess now that I think about it, y'all are pretty sarcastic and you have the best phrases. I love it!

Absolutely agree. I am working on decluttering a lot of my stuff in between all the other things I have going on. I did end up getting rid of a couple of things from that shelf, but there is definitely a lot more I'd like to get rid of.

OMG! I nearly fell out of my chair. My favorite book is Lonesome Dove. It is a Pulitzer Prize winner. I’m glad you didn’t name your son Gus as I DID name my son Augustus and have always called him Gus. What an amazing coincidence.
NO WAY!!! That is hilarious! I'm sure I could have gotten used to it if we had and it really would have gone well with our last name (Ashdown), but then I suggested Tristan after Brad Pitt's character in Legends of the Fall and that felt right. But that is a crazy coincidence to have found someone out there with a son named after one of our very favorite characters. I had no idea there were so many people out there who love Lonesome Dove as much as we do. I'm always explaining the two pigs in our front room to company because most people we know have never read the book or seen the miniseries. When those pigs showed up in the mail, I about died. I was thinking maybe we had taken it too far at that point. I guarantee no one else has two pigs in their front room unless their front room is a play room for kids. 🤔😅

When those nosy law enforcement friends are coming to visit with their pesky black lights, bleach the snot out of EVERYTHING, paying extra attention to "innocent" blood stains and splatter, especially if there's not enough time to paint.
Oh, and if you don't want them digging up the basement, DO NOT mention it, not even in jest. It may seem funny in the moment, but it'll get really awkward if they take you up on it. They are, by necessity, an extremely curious bunch.

Buy automotive glass protector and apply that to your glass shower walls. It makes them a hundred times easier to clean because it coats the glass so nothing sticks to them. You can just rinse and squeegee. I use it on all my mirrors as well. I've never actually used it on my car windows ...
