Always.... If I hear one of the original songs on my Spotify favorites I have to jump over to RUclips Music and listen to her version because I always like them better.
I wasn't even that much into Dua Lipa's latest album until I heard her covers.. now I want to listen to songs like Don't start now but I either can't stand it and immediately search Julia's cover on yt or just have to live with the fact that I play the bass line in my head lol!!!
Enjoy these times folks, when Julia is not the busiest and most in-demand touring bassist, playing arenas and partying like the rock star she is-I mean while she still has time to make these incredible videos 😎👍🏻
@@jesse_0607 Being an accompanying musician is just not the same "famous" as being a star front stage. She'll likely become famous among musicians, but even the greatest names in bass aren't *that* famous. It's more "famous" as in having a great reputation and a lot of jobs offering from great artists.
I must confess that sometimes I avoid your videos for a while because I know I’ll just obsess for days and I don’t have time to stay in bed all day with my headphones jamming to this but HERE I AM JULIA HERE I AM
Julia great technique. Your sense of timing and touch on the strings has improved so much over the years. You always make my heart smile. Thank you for posting.
Be careful with your Subscription. If you go down this path, all the originial songs will feel so empty without Julia playing the groove. She always adds a new touch and notion to the songs she covers. You can't go back to the originals once you are into her videos. Keep on doing what you do, Julia - your feeling for the music is very special and your bassplaying is beyond insanity. Your videos energize me to keep playing and improving the bass although I'm suffering from a decay in my technique because of multiple sclerosis. Don't you ever stop with your covers! I'm addicted to them!
You and Davie have helped me pick up the bass again after years of getting away from it. Your channel is so dang refreshing. It was the first time where I wanted to be a Patreon to a support a creator. Before you released tabs, I would spend hours slowing down your vids, trying to puck on every subtle detail. You've really helped me improve. Really, thank you so much Julia! Wishing you and your fam the best
Perfect bass for the song. The abbreviated resonance of the short scale just works with this song. I bought this exact bass when I started playing bass, because I have such small hands. I have graduated to full size Sting Rays inspired by you.
I know good Julia's stuff is I know she's beyond creative, I know her timing and picket are like no other, but I jawdrop ... every... single.... time...
I hope juliaplaysgroove keep finding bassless songs and working on them. Her creativity and good taste are more obvious that way . Besides, of course, reminding people what a difference a good bassist makes in a song. Three minutes of joy.
I play the bass, but I'm not even nearly as talented as you are. What I like about your vids is that you're always so much into the song you're playin, the groove sits tightly. And you are very creative and smart about your bass lines, adding titbits here and there, but not overdoing it. Just never stop playing, you got it and it's very inspiring to see someone become that good through hard work and commitment. Respect!
Julia plays any song and it's no longer the property of the artist that made it cuz she's just gonna murder the track and you can't go back!!!! We luv you Julia facts
The creativity, groove and musical language you possess is astonishing. Your choice of chords, runs, lines, etc. and it’s placement and timing is perfect. Pure amazing and enjoyment to have the pleasure to watch and listen. Thank you!!!
Julia, I'm just here to say seeing the smirks and smiles on your face as you go mad on this track were some of my favourite moments of this year. Keep having fun x
I've always said it's amazing how much bass, played skillfully, can add to a song. This is absolute proof. Amazing, Julia! When I first heard this song I was thinking it needed more bass and no one else could have done it better :)
I paused your channel for about 2 hours so I could help some customers and now here you are again with something new. You just made my day. You are amazing!!
Perfect! Thanks to you I just bought a bass! I’ve been playing tenor banjo for 7 years now but I’ve always been fascinated by the bass. Thanks for the solid groove Julia 👍
I swear an Oops I Did It Again cover from Julia would absolutely SLAP but I'd never be able to listen to the normal version again. Totally worth it though. Julia, pleeeeease?
I just threw my bass in the garbage and lit it on fire.......Julia ...i am not worthy to call myself a bass play after watching you again. LOVE your stuff!
Thank you for inspiring me to get back into playing bass! When I watch you play I always find little things to do that improve my own playing little by little. Thank you so much!!!
Yes, but someone as skilled as Julia can benefit from learning music theory. I am convinced that as creative as she is, as she drills down into music theory and its complexities, she can only improve, to be able to play with anyone in any genre. Plus music school will teach her how to play in a group, which I suspect she has not had a lot of. Any long time band member can tell you that playing in the band or orchestra is a whole different thing. And when she gets hired as a session musician, she has to read those notes, that chart, and try to get it right the first time, because studio time is money. I have no doubt that she will become one of the world's great session musicians when she's out of school. If she is lucky enough to become a famous musician, well Amen Sister! If not, she will have all the work she can handle by knowing all the fundamentals of music.
@@bari1348 @Bari I think you're a little dazed about the modern recording music industry. It only costs money in the studio if you're a hiphop kid, and then thats the business model in itself. Most professional recordings can be done with a laptop, mixer, preamp. Especially for a bass input. Studio time being charged for became obsolete with the invention of digital music, you aren't throwing away tape for bad takes. Studios upcharge because you can do it in your bedroom, as you've noticed by amateur Julia, or now-professional Finneas brother of Billie Eilish, how impactful that can actually be.
