@@bubbacalling it’s really funny how people think just because a professional bass player doesn’t show their chops that means they don’t have any. Dua’s recordings don’t call for this type of playing (though obviously it’s great and Julia’s killing it).
To me this video and this compisition marks a turning point in your RUclips career. This is way beyond a cover and raises the bar for other YT bassists (and click baissists). Larry, Jaco, Flea, Stuart, Pino, Verdine might lose a spot on my poster wall. I desperately need a Julia poster on there. Oh, and t-shirts and coffee mugs too ;-)
Krammeleniekie I feel that way about Julia’s cover of Dua’s Break My Heart. I love all of her covers but THAT one was the one that just blew me away with her talent, expertise and professionalism. (Julia’s cover of “Ain’t That Easy” although it a few years ago, is still #1 with me because of the various “stank faces,” a dozen or so subtle smiles and being totally absorbed in the rhythm).
That last chord says it all...it’s the follow through on a championship winning buzzer beater, it’s the victory lap after a PR, it’s a landing stuck on a perfect 10 routine, it’s a bow to a sold out crowd at Carnegie Hall! Strength breeds confidence; confidence breeds strength!
Jesse Claus Perhaps I shouldn’t comment at all on Julia’s musicianship, as I have never studied music or played an instrument. I just find it infinitely pleasing to watch as she matures in her craft from her first post of Muse Hysteria until now. Julia has also introduced me to musicians and musical genres I was unfamiliar with. I am 72 years old and have always loved music. You seem to experience her performances on a deeper level of understanding.

Julia, your version is partially copied by the dua lipa's bassist on the live new Year's performance.
Really? Is there a video link to this live performance?
I mean, even if it is, it's supposed to be a cover. She can put her own spin on it. And it still sounds awesome! 😍
@@imogenmenegaldo I think she's saying that Dua's actual bassist copied Julia! haha.
@@juliannewilkinson1943 well that’s confusing
@@future2228 It's not. This woman has some serious skill.
Might be the only time when my timing is as perfect as Julia's. Just refreshed my RUclips page - and there is a new video from Julia!
She literally eats every cover like... she has no right to snap this hard
😄😄😄💪💯
Snap hard or go home!
NO right. My thoughts exactly 💀
So much bass... Bass everywhere... I'm enthralled! Delicious! Loved it!!!!
I have to keep coming back to this because a) it improves the original song and b) it turns any mood to happiness
She made me like the song! Insane not sure how I got here think RUclipsr Roomie did this! Thank you!
I'll be 60 in January and I've heard many bass guitar players and this 19yr old is the best I've watched and listened to ever!
I swear Julia could make me listen a cover of “happy birthday” on repeat for a day. What a groove.
For a moment I thought it was a lot extra grooves, but I definitely loved the way it was executed. You've won a follower.
Sometimes I forget about bass and I feel like I'm not good enough, and then Julia releases another bass cover and I fall face first back into loving bass. Keep it up🙌🙌
Ok but like how are you not playing bass for these artists yet? MARK MY WORDS YOU WILL GET HIRED. You're amazing Julia, so so talented.
Dua lipa's bassist must have peed his pants after watching this
watching. not me.
I don't think Trilian wears any pants.
not really, completely different type of playing. He is accomplished and plays his part to support the song. Julia is excellent, but this wouldn't work under Dua's vocals.
@@bubbacalling it’s really funny how people think just because a professional bass player doesn’t show their chops that means they don’t have any. Dua’s recordings don’t call for this type of playing (though obviously it’s great and Julia’s killing it).
@@MCLemonyfresh yes glad you agree
One of juliaplaysgroove's best.
You seem to experience her performances on a deeper level of understanding.
click baissists lmao
I was waiting for Julia to cover this. Best song of the album and your versions are absolutely fantastic.
One note in and I hit like. I’ve seen enough of your covers to know that this is going to blow my socks off. Phenomenal control, mate 🤙🏻
I am impressed, among other things, with the bass guitar player with Dua Lipa and the bass lines written for the songs. It makes the song fun and Julia's ability to play this so I can see it first hand is wonderful.
Yes!!!! My favorite song from the album gets the Julia treatment. Fantastic.
Lets be honest.. We all like this version better than the original ❤️ 😎👍
Okay but seriously I'm buying a bass and practicing until I can play like this.
Good luck bro
@@gdluacan he'll die trying. I could practice 10 hours a day for the rest of my life and not reach this standard. She has a natural gift (as well as no doubt endless practice and dedication to improving)
@@benwilliams4341 yea thats why I wished him good luck, cause I know I can never reach that standard too
@@benwilliams4341 She obviously practices 40 hours a day so for sure you'll never get there with 10... pfff
So I got the bass... It seems there is a reason I am a drummer and not a bassist. Still fun tho.
Such fun watching and listening to this - and that happens when the player is having that much fun - it is contagious! Thoroughly enjoyed this!
She's really levitating with this bass cover. God, she's good af.
don’t be shy, do a whole bass cover of dua’s latest album ✨
