(Destiny 2) probably is one of the best Looter/ shooter games out there right now! That is why I have not quit the game yet. As soon as I find another one, I might switch over, but so far I have not found one that matches destiny gameplay.
For some people, it's easier to switch. I get it. But honestly, same. Playing other genres is a nice breath of fresh air. And there are so many games to play that are as good, if not better than D2 overall. Regardless, I'll always play new D2 stuff for that looter shooter itch.
No. I can’t play the original content. So no. I thought it was super fun. After being lost for 3 hours due to the original story line being cut and not understanding why every mission the game was sending me on didn’t align. I finally googled why I was lost, found out I can no longer go back and play the OG content and that I wasn’t crazy for being extremely confused. Bungie killed their own game to incoming players. Whither away Destiny, whither away. You deserve it for wasting thousands of hour by new players that WANTED to play your game. I do want to say that the gunplay was insanely fun. The movement was polished. It was super fun while I was playing it, though I was so lost.
I believe you are misinformed. Bungie removed the original content. Before sunsetting, there were literally dozens of options for varied gameplay. Now, every season or episode is a rehash of what you did in the previous season. It's an utter slog. I'm playing d1 and having way more fun and variety.
The game is not dead…12K players is not dead. So much people are use to 200k-300k players on a game, but that’s not realistic! 12k is what destiny 2 is at right now. + there’s no telling how much people are playing on console. No one‘s going to be waiting an hour to get into a PVP match. If you are, that is just your Internet.
@StormyMMO Destiny just had its climatic, Thanos moment, story beat with the Witness and going inside the Traveler. After which, many of the developers who have been working on the game, were fired from Bungie. It isn't about the playercount. It's about the desolate wasteland of creativity and talent that Bungie has become. And the soulless greed that keeps the game afloat at current.
@ clearly it’s about the player count. Apparently there’s something to do in destiny if there’s 12k players. So the game might be boring, but I’m tired of hearing people saying it’s dying… when it’s not. No hate towards you at all. That’s just my opinion.
@StormyMMO Ok? But whether or not people are still playing Destiny is not the question. The question is: should you play it? And the answer that I, someone who has played the game since Destiny 1 in 2014, have to give is simple: no.
I think the devs care. But between layoffs/personal shake-ups, it's hard to produce the best content. That and upper management doesn't seem to be doing their job at Bungie.
It's funny. I started playing literally 4 days ago. I am having a ton of fun. I got the legacy collection for 10€, so it's insanely cheap for the amount of content. Not intending to get Final Shape unless I care enough about the content by then. But until then I have hundreds of hours of stuff, I assume. So yeah, for me it's a strong "Yes"! Idk about returning players, but for me it feels like a strong title for little money. The graphics hold up surprisingly well, the gun- and skillplay is nice and deeper than Borderlands 3, my personal favorite looter shooter. The lore seems to be pretty deep (albeit confusing), the guns are fun and the environments are seriously gorgeous. Plus the music is amazing. I also like the jumping puzzles and the varied content. There seems to be a lot of cynicism and apathy with the community. I look at the game and I hear people complaining and I can't but wonder how people are so jaded when there is some insanely bad slop out there. Sure, maybe there are better games out there. But in terms of MMO-style Looter Shooter, what else is there? I feel like the community could use a bit more gratitude... This is NOT a bad game!
It's a great game in its own right. It's the company its attached to, and some of the bad decisions related to removing/hiding older content, and bad monetization practices. Lots of people just getting tired of getting treated like a piggy bank.
There are a lot of intricacies as to why people may feel slighted by Bungie, or something they did. Many people move on, some just come back for major releases. And others maintain their love for the game in the darkest of times (content droughts). If someone is a new player like yourself, the amount of stuff to do is overwhelming. And as a long time fans we just haven't had that in a while, in fact Bungie tries not to "overdeliver" anymore (too much content). For me, the itch that D2 scratches is hard to satisfy elsewhere, with maybe Borderlands being an exception. So I fill my content droughts with other genres and what not, and come back whenever there's something to do. However, there's no wrong answer to this question. It's just a matter of can Bungie provide enough to keep concurrent players satisfied, and bring in more new players. All while enhancing the new player process, as some people get confused, or lost in what to do.

The fun part is instead of playing this shit version of my favorite game having it as my only game option thanks to.its many gigabytes i play destiny 1 which nowadays is alot better
I love D1 for nostalgia purposes, but I didn't think I'd see someone say it's better than D2 in any capacity. Maybe the amount of content, but 30fps hurts my eyes now. And I just played too much of it also, nothing I care about doing in it anymore. But if you enjoy it, that's awesome.

New/returning player process is horrible. If that can get fixed, D2 would be in a better spot.
*Insert bugs bunny no meme here*

Actually, both started at the same time, year 4 of Destiny 2.
No, next question.

Atp just play Warframe because at least the devs care about their game 😭

As a pastime after a few games a month ? sure...it will always be too good not to quit entirely
For sure. Hopefully Bungie can cook again with Frontiers so it's worth playing.
Simple answer: no.
That’s on you
