It's great, except many people can't afford to live there. Property taxes, mortgage, keeping up with the Jones family next door.. forget about it. I heard average income is $243,000 a year. -- I remember Southlake from the 1980s into 1990s when was still an area people had horses & there were scattered pastures with cattle. There are riding & hiking trails along Grapevine Lake. -- The entire area is growing like gangbusters with traffic, road construction & new homes going in. Home prices are being driven up by people moving in from out of state, I think. They need to roll over their CA mortgage money and build little mega mansions.
Prices were expensive long before Californian's started to relocate to Texas and Southlake. Southlake is a beautiful area with great schools, so it's easy to see why it's so desirable.
Southlake is a small town that wants to imitate highland park . The high-school is very racist towards minority students . Don't get me wrong you have to have money to live there but money is all relative . If you come from New York or California and sell your home you can afford it. There's an aura of bougieness they want to look down on you but you can tell it's a joke. Seems like it’s petty jealousy of people with more money. Demonizing a whole group of people as racist is the same as demonizing a group of people because of their race. Both ignore the fact everyone Is responsible for their actions individually.
Judging by these comments, Southlake has some social issues to deal with. It's shameful and illogical for a wealthy community to wallow in petty racism. That's just silly.

Yes I believe so from reading our comments. I don't watch tv so not sure what actually happened.
As a resident, there is not a racial divided neighborhood, there has, however, been some biased news about the city in regards to racism
There aren't racially divided neighborhoods in Southlake. If you are wealthy enough to live there, then you live wherever you want.
