While it is still possible to manipulate Golden Hand spawnings on every platform and such the timing seems to have gotten a lot stricter and there seems to be way less leeway than before so the results may vary quite a bit!
Im Just trying it in void Quest but No Matter how often and i try it and how Long i wait in the menu/restart after Long Time, i dont get the 4 Star constellation at all. Could that maybe also have to do Something with the Games language (German) or is there maybe an exact timespan to wait with a Timer for example? (Btw i have vsync activated)
Let me recap for Golden Hands: - Yukiko's Castle = Floor 5 = Right Side - Steamy Bathhouse = Floor 7 = Right Side - Void Quest = Floor 7 = Left Side - Secret Lab = Floor 6 = Right Side
For the secret lab, you can go to the end of floor six, load into floor seven, and then go back to floor six and there will almost always be a golden hand so you can do it over and over again without the finicky timing. You can also use this method to abuse the chest at the end of the floor for an infinite amount of random items (done on the Nintendo switch version)

He says "restart the game" (1:44), but it isn't clear - you have to quit ALL the way out of the game, and relaunch it. Just going to "System > Return To Title" means the game is still running, so the star pattern rng is still running - meaning the pattern will be different every time. I can't tell if it still works from there, even if you try to time it by counting or using the music. I didn't know why it wasn't working for a while, until I tried doing it after closing the game and then relaunching it. Bit of a pain, but it works. Just don't forget to save every time.
I had a better time farming in Secret Lab and going down then back up into floor 6 to respawn the mobs. It's better than completely closing your game and reloading using this star tech. I always managed to find a golden hand w/ in 3-5 resets so do whatever works for you. (Steam version)
The pattern of the Stars I completely different for me so it doesn't work.. Edit: it works, you have to Completely restart the game, not just go in the menu.
i haven't tried it consistently on the psvita yet. but, first try, i was able to get a golden hand spawn on kanji's dungeon by entering the game as soon as i saw the star on the right disappear. i assume it works very similarly, it just might have stricter timing?
If P4G is ever remade like P3 Reload, the #1 thing that needs to be fixed are the Golden Hands! Like maybe they should wait at least 3 turns before escaping, and also if they're down and you're nearby, there should be a command (like triangle on PS4) to home in on them and start the fight
Also for added cheese make sure you have a persona with apt pupil and equip the spiked bat. Do not use the metal bat!!! The accuracy is too low against the hands and just about any shadow.
@@OmniMon94 the problem with the metal bat is that it has extremely low accuracy. Like 30 if I recall correctly so don't use that because the trade off isn't worth it.
Honestly hate these ass holes but I can't deny how op the rewards are lol. At least they actually reward you in p4g fighting golden shadows. P3p on the other hand not only do they suck ass to fight with or without item cheesing they are also a complete waste of time if you aren't doing all the quests.
It's a shame there's not more info on this. Like do you need to return back to the same floor or can you do it from the start and it'll be there when you climb up?
The patterns are fixed they should usually work. Do you have vsync turned off maybe? If so try turning it on, I found that a capped framerate gives much more consistent results!

is there a way to change what floor you fast travel to when entering dungeons? im trying to get it to continue to floor 6 after I save for secret laboratory but it continues to floor 7 instead

(oops) For the Yukiko's Castle manip, I can only seem to get a single gold hand instead of the set of three gold hands. Do you know if there's anything I may be doing wrong? Also does difficulty affect this? (I'm playing on Very Hard.) Thanks in advance, and thank you for making this video!
Difficulty does not make a difference, this should work on any. If you consistently get one, try going a little earlier or later maybe. Also if you have vsync off turn it on - a stable framerate makes manipulation much more consistent. Good luck on the grind! :)

Weird. I guess when the game initializes the random number generator it always uses the same seed? That's the only way I can see this working.
Yes. That's pretty standard for older games, especially on console. It's why tool assisted speedruns tend to start count on console boot

Great video! Does it work if you have already completed all the levels? You can only continue to the final boss level once completed
This only works as long as you have access to said dungeons. Once you run into the last in-game day I don't think you can get back there again.

2:01 you mean 3 Golden Hands in the overworld or 3 Golden Hands in battle?
In battle, it's always one certain overworld sprite that is manipulated to be a Golden Hand.

Its because it automatically puts you into the next floor if you found the stairs

They sometimes spawn in chests but you can also buy them at the item store

I got way too many golden hands without trying to.
I can’t this method is too difficult and inconsistent I’m gonna have to find something else to help me.
