This year I'm thinking of all the people in Tennessee and North Carolina that no longer have homes, they are living in tents. Some of them are getting tiny houses or campers to live in.
I worked at McNeil Island corrections center in western Washington in 2000- I was in charge of the angle tree every year and I also received a governors award for starting the first father/child gift exchange where volunteers donated gifts for the inmates to wrap and give to their children on a special selected day. Some of the fathers had never wrapped a gift for their children before. It was the most satisfying job I ever had.
Things are only borrowed. I am very thankful for my itty bitty single wide trailer. My spouse who made it through radiation for prostate cancer. I am grateful for each day. Happy Thanksgiving❤❤
I am thankful for this very real and honest podcast/video. It was a treat to see Melissa's reaction to the stink beetle. LOL We are all in this together, folks. No one gets out alive, and while here, if we allow ourselves to be a giver, in service to others while still caring for ourselves, of course, are we able to grasp the true meaning of life. Happy Thanksgiving to all, and may we always be counting our blessings!
So Happy Melissa can shine for all her work in giving back! We knew it was Melissa & we ❤ her! I also grew up in a family that volunteering was a way of life! This is definitely a learned way of life🙏🙏🙏Blessing’s
Each and every day is a new gift, I try to make the best of each one. It doesn’t always work out that way, but in the trying I remain grateful. God is great! 🥰
One of my favorite t-shirts that gets many appreciative comments when I wear it, says “To grateful to be hateful.” Happy Thanksgiving to all from South Mississippi.
I feel very blessed in my life. I don’t envy the rich nor the famous. You two have built a life worthy of envy. Congratulations and may god bless you and your family.
One of my favorite scriptures is, God will use for good what the enemy has meant for evil. So no matter what happens I know that he is gonna use it for something amazing cause he said so. Happy thanksgiving❤
Thank you so much for this video ! I've been on my pity pot about being a Great Grandma spending Thanksgiving all alone again. But this made me stop and think about my many blessings and think of others. God bless you and yours this holiday season and always!!
👍❤️ Good morning Happy Thanksgiving to All 💗 Love you guys 💟 Such a heartwarming video and the example to share and find your own gratitude - a blessing for each of us 🙏 🌟🌲
Happy Thanksgiving! When you were talking about not always seeing things while you're in the storm I was reminded of the storm that happened in the boat more than 2,000 years ago and the fishermen were all worried and scared, but Christ was sleeping in the back of the boat during the storm. When they woke him up, He calmed the storm immediately. We only really have the Triune to give us that peace in the storm. Thank you for all that you two do and your children. Thank you that you always take the time to be genuine and a wonderful Christian family that lives the life.
Happy Thanksgiving 🦃🍁🍽 there is so much to be thankful for! Yet, there is so much evil out there and we have to have faith in order to live a happy life. I was taught to help those who needed, and the best holiday memories was helping other families, feeding those who were in need and going to a church and help make food and serve it to the homeless. I was a single mom and I would take my children with me and have them go through their toys to regift to those who needed it. As children of god we are taught that “Service” is the ultimate way back to him and he knows that it will soften our hearts and teach us to be humble. I do not have much but I am blessed with love from my family and friends 🥰🙏🏻❤️
Beauty from Ashes and the oil of Joy for Mourning! So beautifully described Melissa! It is such a blessing to reach out to others when we are struggling to comfort and come along side others who need help! The human soul is meant to seek a higher and nobler aspiration than what the world would tell us it is! So thankful for the simple blessings that I have and want to thank you for your hearts to share and bless those who are in the realm of influence! Peace and blessings!
There is so much to be gained emotionally and spiritually from giving without expectation of receiving in return. No expectations, just sharing the bounty that life has offered us, even though we may consider what we have to give is not "bountiful". Giving love and caring with sincerity and joy not only fill the hearts of those you give to but also fill your own heart as well. I think Melissa's recalling of giving and sharing with those people behind the barn, is a prime example of that. I simple smile and a heartfelt thank you goes a long way. Little things like that might be insignificant to you but could be very significant to the recipient.
This is our 2nd year, December 11th, of the death of our son. What you said Melissa is true. Losing a child is the most painful thing a parent can experience. We are still in such painful grief that we know we will never be the same. Only my faith in God through Jesus has sustained me. We don't bother with Christmas, it's too painful. But we do celebrate with my daughter and her husband who live in England through a stream on a screen and we have no grandchildren so we are just stuck in a life now that is changed forever...
First of all, I am so very sorry for your loss and the understandable pain that goes with it. I don't know if you're a book read, but I would like to recommend "Like a River" by Granger Smith. I'm hoping it can help. I'd also like to encourage you to seek out those in your area who are in need of assistance. Nothing will ever remove the pain of your loss, but when we focus on helping others, it can help smooth out some of the rough edges so that when the pain comes it won't come in quite the same way.
Mahalo Jeremy and Melissa for a truly inspiring chat! I pray Heavenly Father will continue tp pour out His choicest blessings upon you! Hard to feel ‘Christmas-y’ in 85* weather but the children manage to keep everyone on track! Happy Thanksgining from the North Shore!
I'm always so amazed and impressed by all that y'all do! A "Gratitude Journal"! What a beautiful and wonderful idea!! I loved this whole podcast!! I mean, I always love them and am grateful and impressed. But for obvious reasons at this time of year, I just started crying when I realized in my situation that even and especially I am envious of others. And I really do have so much. I am provided for and live in comfort and no want. I'm surrounded by loved ones now. I remember when I was working still, I was so much happier and grateful for what I had. Because seeing those folks alone especially on or around the holidays. I think of them or when Jesus was being born in a manger with the animals. The Lord gives us grace for feeling ungrateful in a moment or two, but thank him especially during this time for all that you do have. I bless you all and love you all!! Melissa and Jeremy, have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family. Thank you Lord for all of my blessings and also for my challenges. I pray for all of you who need more blessings and love in their lives. God bless you and keep you always. 🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️. All my love, Lana K.
I want to say to you two! You guys are like family to many of us! I find comfort in seeing you new content arrive, I feel like you are EVERYONES brother and sister! I love listening to you guys! Thank you!!! Happy ThanksGiving!
I thank God every day for people such as you on social media. Keep the faith. God hears your words and will bless you and your family for the words you convey to the the world listening to you.
One of the things that I really truly am thankful for is your Podcasts, as I cook the turkey this year I will be praying for you and your future baby and thankful for your whole family may God bless you and keep you all the days of your life .
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours! Kids truly do bring a sense of anticipation and excitement to the season. My favorite memories are of music, going caroling and bringing pleasure to “shut ins” who couldn’t get to events, listening and singing along to Ahmal and the Night Visitors”, the Christmas Eve service, then a few presents and a wonderful meal, with the probability of grazing leftovers. 😊
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. May this year bring you more joy, and more happiness and more getting the work done. Take care of your selfs my friends. See you next time from Colorado.
We had a ‘slim’ Christmas when 4 of our kids were in grade school. We told them they had to choose between having a tree or getting 1 small gift each. After confering with each other, they elected the tree! Those kids are grandparents now and still say that was their best Christmas!
Regardless of our faith we can all benefit from focusing more on appreciating the blessings in our lives and less on comparison, materialism and negativity. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your beautiful family. I am thankful for you
I LOVED your story of giving at Christmas. I also grew up with “less” but discovered there are always others who are less fortunate! May God bless you all richly through this holiday season!!
As far as the gifting situation you were talking about toward the end, I LOVE to crochet and for the last 5 or 6 years have made each of my daughters an ornament. I feel like handmade gifts can be much more meaningful. Thankful for my healthy family as well!!
SO DIVINE TO SEE YOUR BEAUTIFULLNESS TODAY! SOMETHING DIVINE, BEAUTIFUL INSPIRATIONAL UPLIFTING AND BELOVED WAS MISSING LAST WEDNESDAY. I LOVE YOUR LOVE ❤️ THANKYOU FOR THE THANKSGIVING CONVERSATION TODAY❤ YOU BOTH ARE GLOWING WITH PERFECTION❤
I agree with keeping perspective on how most people do enjoy giving to others and it does help create gratitude. Thanks for focusing on this for Thanksgiving!! We can’t allow the demons to control us. And thanks for blessing so many people with your charity. ❤
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. And thank you for allowing me to watch your videos and being part of the family you formed on Utube, You are a god sent for the CCC. Great job once again this year.
Blessing too you and your family for being charitable people for Christmas etc. We are Muslim so our celebration is Eid day and we are Charitable on that day and during the year as well. Our parents taught us that too. Blessing to them. They have passed away now and my sister and I carry on the tradition as well. So what you are doing with your family is a blessing too you guys. Love all your videos. ❤
I am 73 years old I use all the new electronics. I use it as a tool to keep in touch with friends and family who do not live close by. Things like FaceTime are great.
I am grateful for this episode and you guys! What a beautiful story about your childhood Christmas, Melissa. Thanks for sharing and for all y'all do. Happy Thanksgiving to you and everyone!
The past 5 years have been trying times for my wife and I with personal and family member health issues. We have been there for everyone in our family, both near and far, that whole time. For the first time in our collective 140 years of life we're taking a short vacation to reconnect with ourselves by taking a weeks long cruise over Thanksgiving. We need this! Happy Thanksgiving Souza family and God bless that little one in your tummy Melissa. Be well!
First off Happy Thanksgiving to our neighbours in the US. Our sovereign God does allow suffering but He also works things out for His glory and our good. We don't always see that good in the moment but in the grand scheme of things He will work it out. I can say this as someone who has and still is going through a lot of suffering with life in general and with my chronic illnesses and disabilities. Even with all I'm going through I know He is with me and won't ever leave me so as long as I have that then it's more than enough. I'm honestly thankful for the suffering because it helps me to remain in Him, depend on Him and trust Him through it all
I try to remain Biblically focused. The Bible states "Dwell on the good things of God". The world is cycling down because of rampart sin in these end times. It is important to keep your mind on Jehovah God's gifts to you. - A King's kid
Love you two as if you belonged to me!!! Giving gifts to one in need even through our own hardships brings unmeasurable blessings. I've experienced it many times in my younger years. Melissa the description of cooking and carnage cracked me up because it is so so true!😂😂😂😂
The best gift anyone can give another is their time. We have become so disjointed as a society, and it breaks my heart to see this every day. The best gift we can give to the people around us is our time. Time is precious, and in hindsight, we've all had moments of regret for not pausing to help another. The grocery store is a place where I've always looked for seniors who are struggling. I have a love the seniors who paved the path for me, for all of us. Sadly they are often ignored in this time of life. Another thing I've learned in life is it's not all about me. The Me Monsters are hurting our society so much. I'm not say to neglect personal needs. I'm saying look out past yourself and see what's going on around you. Is there a simple act of kindness you can do to assist someone? The feeling of goodness that happens for the person being assisted and the one giving of their time is amazing! All the little pausing we do to help another brightens the world for everyone. Just imagine how much everyone of us could help brighten the world with a simple act of kindness. God bless you and your family today and always.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving Day. I am so grateful for a family with morals and loves the Lord. You bring joy every Saturday with your love and humor. You bless this 68 year old heart.❤❤❤
I have lost 13 biological children. And 2 adopted. I KNOW loss. I went on to adopt 5 american, one indian, and 5 Peruvian children. My life is so blessed, full of love. Im SOOOO GRATEFUL. I have 10 grandchildren. So many kisses and hugs and LOVE. GOD IS GOOD. ❤ FROM GRANDMA IN PERU 🇵🇪
When i was a child my sister and brother received 2 gifts for xmas for many years. One was a new outfit and the other was a toy. I remember how much more excited i was for the new outfit than the toy. Cuz i could always go outside and play and pretend ive got a new toy or make a toy outta the things outside. But a new outfit? I could neverbtry to duplicate that. So it was so exciting to get the new outfit!!!
You're inspiring, and yes, I have become more aware and more giving🙏🏼 all the time, and i love it it's thanks to you guys, and hopefully, next year will be even better.💞
We want to say Happy Thanksgiving to your family!! We are "Thankful" for you. We began watching during covid, when all of America was looking for hope and goodness. We found both on your channel. To say we feel like part of your family is an understatement. We sincerely pray for supernatural blessings for all of you. Can't wait to see this baby!! So excited!!❤
Happy Thanksgiving to your beautiful family, I'm baking cookies and listening to you. My daughter and I lost her Dad in during her senior year of highschool. She chose a profession in MRI to help those patients struggling with the same thing her dad passed from. ❤
Great podcast-always a good thing to remind ourselves with The Lord we have much to be grateful for. And as you requested Melissa, I'll have a glass of red wine for you tomorrow! Blessings and love from MN!
I can relate to the stink bug. Here is the Hudson Valley of NY, we are inundated at various times, especially in the fall when the buggers try every which way to get inside for the winter. They have NO natural predators as they are an invasive species, so pretty much nothing limits them. In the fall, I am very busy flushing them down my toilet. They climb into everything - your dishes, your clothes, your closets, your bed, literally everything. I have a little story. One year I was going to make a pot roast in my crock pot. My kitchen smelled so delicious as it was cooking through the day. Finally, it was cooked to perfection and I dished out a generous portion in my bowl. I was literally drooling to taste it - UNTIL I saw the stink bug floating in the gravy in the pot. Soooooo it must have been in the bottom of my crock pot and I never checked it first before I added all the ingredients . . . . .One whole pot roast with little potatoes and carrots for the garbage . . . . . Ugh!!
Our stockings were full of hard candy/nuts/an orange. We got one toy along with pj’s & underwear in the 50-60’s! Many happy memories from them thar days!
This year I'm thinking of all the people in Tennessee and North Carolina that no longer have homes, they are living in tents. Some of them are getting tiny houses or campers to live in.
Me too🙏

Commenting: the opening made me smile. Thanks.
Children who have difficulty in their own lives are generally more happier and give loving!❤❤❤

I love Christmas!!!!!!
Happy Thanksgiving you all ❤❤😊
We want to say Happy Thanksgiving to your family!!
Happy Thanksgiving ❤ I love when you go to Safeway and gift food and gift cards, it’s so touching.
Happy Thanksgiving to all your family.
Happy Thanksgiving to you all❤
