Truest words ever written down! I'm hopefully going to get an SV soon, me and the Mrs are going to ride from the UK to Bulgaria along the best biking roads on the planet. I used to have a GSXR 600 K3 and regularly used to leave bigger bikes in my wake including Hyabusas, my ex had a full faired SV650S and I loved riding it for the same reasons, and it was fun above all else!
I'm running Michelin Pilot Powers 2CT's. Great for public roads and also sufficient for some track days. The front fork has stiffer springs and different oil, works pretty well.
Thanks! On public roads my first upgrade would be an open exhaust, for some nice tunes. Another recommended upgrade is stiffer suspension in the front forks. A necessity for track use, but also nice on public roads.
Both frustrating and satisfying at the same , you can round up the bigger bike in the braking zones and corners and then get blown off on the straights. Always liked SV's
I am not at all surprised by this. SV very capable in the right hands Yet most people looking to buy a sports bike dismiss it in a heartbeat because its cheap, they shouldn't before they try one.
Well the standard chrome Exhaust isn't pretty or the front forks, ill give you that, but I stuck an aftermarket can on my black SV (version with fairing) and I was certainly not ashamed of it. I came from a ZX6R as needed something to do courier work with and it was a great all round machine even tho it was a bit lacking in power. Certainly felt more confident laying over in the corners and even out of the corners compared with my early ZX6R..
Well yea sv is as fast in corner like supersport 600 it have very similar geometry wheelbase head frame angle weight distribution seat hight similar max lean angle 🤷🏻♂️ its just lack of top end power compare to supersport 600 and on fast track only this makes diffrenc 🤷🏻♂️ at breaking and in corner no diffrenc at all 👌🏻
the CBR has longer legs more hp so it will beat the 650 down the straight but because the suzi is light and doesnt have to brake so hard it will get through the corners quicker. Id say ultimately though the ability of the rider makes a huge difference too..
Sehr gut gefahren! Hab selber ne SV650S K7 und meine Kilo-Gixxer Freunde kommen mir trotzdem oft nicht hinterher auf den Landstraßen im Schwarzwald xD Einfach ein super handliches Bike mit toller Motorcharakteristik :)
Aw damn that one's too bad man.. Tho nice trying to push that guy back. Bought an SV myself & am each day impressed by it, best wishes with the recovery & hope the damage on the cbr ain't massive :)
I notice for the most part the sv is engine out braking the cbr1000, and readily slips past. The cbr only catches it when up into the fire blades upper power band. Excellent riding
@@mitchellmitchell6938 but not under deceleration. The vee twin is the superior "Jake brake". In the right hands as clearly shown the skilled user can use this to their advantage. Less braking, by using the engine and back on the power soonest.
experienced vs novice ^^ its really cool to keep longtime a bike and mastered it before take another one ! i 'm waiting for my future 2008 650S to practice and learn to ride on tracks !
Hi. Yes just excellent video. Those front fork springs must work extremly well, I don't see any diving at all before the corners. Gonna have to get some myself. And excellent camera placing to show speed and revs. What tyres or were they slicks.
eine Frage: was für Reifen fährst bei diesem Video, Pilot Power?!? und was für Abmessung, 120/70 oder?!? Würde mich auf deine Antwort sehr freuen!!! Top gefahren!
Theres not a huge difference on 600 to litre bikes on bendy track - look at tt racing seconds in it. Top ride by guy on Sv other rider looked nervous and of course leading is harder. Great vid thanks
Nice! When it comes to track performance, I only placed stiffer springs (front and back), a full Leovince exhaust, steel brakelines and raised the footpegs.
Just got me a 2001 SV and love it. Would like to double with my wife but we are both getting he weight on a bit so I stiffened up the suspension all the way and she still sits down a bit too much at the back. The bike I mean not the wife ha ha. Any suggestions again, about the bike not the wife. Yeah yeah I know, lose some weight. Thought I'd better get in first.
As far as I know (and I'm not a suspension-expert), the only thing you can change on the rear suspension is the preload. This basically changes the ride height, but not the characteristic of the spring. Although in case of the SV this is the best (and only) thing to do, when riding with 2 people. To get the suspension stiffer, you should change the spring on the rear shock. That would be a big upgrade, when riding with 2. Hope this helps a bit
Kiss János I have a 120/70 tire in the front. This is higher than the original 120/60, which adjusts the speedo. So I think my speedo does not cheat a lot.
Ha ha the fire blade has to work really hard to pass sv but sv gets him every time on bends so just proves that sv will beat you on the twisties.I had a banger z 250 years ago but good brakes and tires and raced a guy to work on an almost new cbr250 and only lost because he passed a few cars at a roundabout nearly killing himself he never spoke to me after that .beat him on the bends
Well that has nothing to do with the bike, obviously the cbr's rider is not track experienced. You can see how he overtakes the sv on the straights, like the sv is a 50cc scooter.
For the record: a SV650 has 62 Nm versus 115 Nm for the Fireblade... So engine wise the SV is far down on every aspect. Still remains a great machine though!
Slimmerik Yes, we know that dude. And just for the further record the SV is a sport touring bike and without major modifications its geometry, suspension, instruments, foot peg and bars position, seat height, bike height set you back from really aggressive riding. You're doing awesome riding!
It´s not about bike, but about rider.. Here is great example.. Nice ride !

Agreed !
When a little 650svs eat a CBR1000RR Fireblade... Ahah nice steering ! ;)
Looks like the SV has a much better rider on board to me, nice riding mate 👍😃
I'm running Michelin Pilot Powers 2CT's. Great for public roads and also sufficient for some track days. The front fork has stiffer springs and different oil, works pretty well.
I love watching skilled riders do their thing. Great vid!
Thanks! On public roads my first upgrade would be an open exhaust, for some nice tunes. Another recommended upgrade is stiffer suspension in the front forks. A necessity for track use, but also nice on public roads.
Thanks! Did my best 😇

LOL poor guy on 1000 , It's always sad when someone on slower bike kicks Your butt ;)
Love it!
Great riding!!!

voxac30withstrat the fireblade is only 10kg heavier and has better brakes, all down to rider skill
awesome vid. I wish everyone that puts down the sv650 could see this vid!
Nice well resent bike, just bought an sv gonna be fun on track days 👋👋👋
I'm so proud to ride an sv right about now :)

That overtaking manouvre at 3:30, brilliant!
Thanks! On another occasion that corner didn't end so well;)...

Luckily the damage wasn't too bad, so the CBR is fine again. I still have my SV and also enjoy riding the bike a lot. It's a nice machine.
Wow! Now I see why this bike so popular among the racers
Very cool, well done sir
I notice for the most part the sv is engine out braking the cbr1000, and readily slips past. The cbr only catches it when up into the fire blades upper power band. Excellent riding
The Fireblade has more torque down low than a 650 no doubt.

Suzuki forever.
That SV is gorgeous
Thanks!
Nice riding.cracking little bike.

Geweldig! Mooie filmpje.
That was impressive...i just picked up an old sv650 for a mate....i may not give it back!!!
But I cant ride it like that...well done my friend!

The man on fireblade was too slow. Ane You was not bad))))

randomly clicked on this vid, was glued instantly, great riding!!
Excellent riding and video. Guys like you do the SV proud!! Are you running standard suspension and brakes??
Awesome!
Wow, sweet vid man. I needa get my ass to a trackday soon!
Thanks. You should definitely do that
Nice riding guy.
Great!!!
Respect for the sv650
Jammer van de muziek eroverheen..gaaf filmpje!
great video
Awesome!!
Lekker hoor Rik! Die gast op zijn blade ff lekker voorbij steken in de Ramshoek!! (3:30) +1!
Hi,
Great video! I've watched it dozens of times. Can you please advise what upgrades you have done to the suspension if any.
Slimmerik what size tires do you run on this SV650?
sv rules! simple as!
Huge thumbs up
Thanks
nice :D maar je hebt 2 Hero2 camera's?
well ridden!! have you done any work on the suspension, or is it still stock?
+MiniBike Matt Thanks. The SV has a stiffer spring in both front and rear.
+Moby Dick No, just stiffer springs. The GsxR forks supposed to work very good, but I've never ridden them. Maybe the next upgrade?..
+Slimmerik rear tyre upgrade to 180?. or still 160?
The rear tire on the SV650 is still a 160. A 180 tire looks much better, but I like the nimble feeling of the 160. Did you try a 180?
+Slimmerik Im riding a moped now. haha planning to get the new sv650!

amazing :D
Dump the music. It is disturbing the real good sound.
Agreed! SV exhaust is my music!
I have the same bike! Which are the mods? :) Subscribed!
Nice! When it comes to track performance, I only placed stiffer springs (front and back), a full Leovince exhaust, steel brakelines and raised the footpegs.
Slimmerik Which springs? :)
Questa è Benzinah I used Hyperpro springs
You shouldn't! It's a great bike.
Bonjour quel type de pneus avez vous ? Combien de CV sortez vous ?
I havent cranked the bike yet but it seems a 0 - 100kmh in around 4 secs is pretty close to the mark would that be right?
Yes. Can be done within 4 sec I think. Especially from 0 - 80kmh (first gear) the SV is hard to beat, because of its usable power.
nice bike
Thanks:)
machines are nothing without someone with proper skills behind :- 1
What song is this?
Yep, gefilmd met twee GoPro's (allebei Hero2)

Slimmerik Thanks for that I kinda suspected. I'm fortunate to have a friend that owns a suspension company so I might pick her brains.
its not the bike its the driver
sv650 rider is better and also appears to know the track. ;)
How did you mount the camera on the bike?
With the GoPro suction cup, mounted on the tank. Fits perfect!
Jezdec na SV je frajer,na rovinkách na Hondu nemá,ale jinak mu dává na prdel...pěkné!
Max speed km/h?
Kiss János maximum speed on the road is around 230 on the speedo
@@slimmerik1 ÁÁÁÁÁ 650 sv not 230 speed nooooo :D

c'est vrai!
jaloers :( ik moet het "maar" met 1 doen :P
Well that has nothing to do with the bike, obviously the cbr's rider is not track experienced. You can see how he overtakes the sv on the straights, like the sv is a 50cc scooter.
That's why first you learn to ride then you get a more powerful motorcycle.
