Borla ATAK all the way! The new, 2019+ 6.2s are soooo quiet compared to the 07-13s(LS) and 14-18s. GM heavily restricted the exhaust of the new trucks to add to their "luxury" desires. The AT4 should have removed the resonators.
If the 2019 had the same exhaust setup the the 15 did then it would probably be the same level. The 19 was stock and the 15 had headers and high flow cats. It’s no where close to a comparison.
I would go with the flow masters anyway of the week, I like how the sound deeper and throaty-er while sitting still. I think the borla is a lil over the top personally
The longtube headers make a big difference not to mention the motor size. The Super 10 and Outlaw are 2 different style of mufflers, not one in the same. Remove the RESONATOR!
I love the sound of flowmaster super 10s I used to have true dual flowmaster super 10s under my old 1999 dodge ram 1500 with a 5.2l (318) I loved it !!!!
I like FM products and have had them on 3 of the 5 wranglers that I've owned over the years, but are a bit heavy and is why we went with custom pipes on my Challenger that we are building. Which consists of 3" with open chamber racing bullets, and sounds amazing on it's 6.1. They also delete the reso's and is basically like straight piped, but better because of the increased diameter and flow so much better that way. I know that it doesn't seem like much, but every little bit adds up and have to be mindful of that when you have one of these big beautiful pigs lol. She's one of the original SRT8s, so it's a little lighter than the new Challengers are and weigh in at a bit over 4K. But with the reductions that we've done so far, its weighing in at around 3,850 and is about what the Camaros are
The super 10 muffler is what comes with the Outlaw exhaust system. The Outlaw muffler you are referring to is an individual part that doesn’t come with the exhaust system.
The garage is installing a Borla S cat back on my 2017 Silverado LTZ 5.3 today. I can't wait to hear what that baby will sound like. I had a Borla Touring cat back put on my Mustang V-6 and couldn't believe the perceived torque and power increases.
That Borla sounds badass for sure, but this example of the Super10 gives Flowmaster a bad name imo. I swear all newer trucks are adding a second muffler or an additional resonator to make them quieter. I run a Super10 setup on my Ram R/T and you can hear me coming from down the street, and I even kept my stock resonators lol
Not actually true. If you get the regular Flowmasters they do wear out in a few years. If you get the stainless steel ones they come with a limited lifetime warranty. It just depends on how much do you want to spend.
@@Jeffjames962 Good for you. I bought a Flowmaster lifetime warranty header back system for my '85 Silverado 2500HD and Borla cat-backs for three cars I owned over the past 6 years. They all sound great. Buy what you like. 👍

Flow master has a deeper sound compared to the borla it’s high pitchy sound. I’d give it to flowmaster it ain’t loud which is a thumbs down but the deeper tone sounds best
The rear resonators should of been removed and the mid after the cats as well. Borla got this one. My 5.3 with the super 10 sounds better then the GMC.
Awesome job as always! What do you recommend for the newer 5.0 F150 trucks? I like loud but not drone. It's hard to find a good combination for the 5.0 trucks that is loud but not raspy or droning. I put a black widow race venom on mine off my last truck, it was insane! I had to put a flo-pro twister in as a resonator. It sounds ok but want to change it soon.
Does having high flow cats and straight tube headers make it sound louder? Im asking because i had my 2015 1500 LT silverado done with the borla atak system and the one you did seems to sound a whole lot better
Not really a "vs" type of video. On truck has a huge advantage of the long tubed headers. I love Blorla but you can't compare them here lol. Freaking sounds amazing thought! Wish we could have long tubed headers in CA
That truck has enough back pressure for my truck as well. All that flow at the beginning of the system to choke it down with those small pipes and 1 muffler.
@@MountainMcCumbee a 3inch single exhaust can handle 500-550hp, it offers plenty of flow for the 6.2, unless you're planning to go over 600-700 you don't need much more than 3". Now I would've wanted an X instead of that small y, the X would allow the scavenging to be better and even the pulses.
This isn't a fair fight. You cant compare stock manifolds with stock cats to long tube headers & high flow cats. If the flowmaster was put behind the headers & high flow cats there would be no comparison, it would win hands down

I've watched a lot of your videos... your welcome. Now, after watching this one i have got to say something. U absolutely need to stop revving the shit out of OTHER PEOPLE'S shit while the engines are cold. Cold engine= no oil in the cylinders or along the crank and rods. Any respectable shop should freaking know this. The fact that u do this and film it for the whole world to see means u may not be the shop for me or ppl that i know. The way u fix this.... u start it and give it AT LEAST a minute for the oil to get thru the cylinders. And if the temp is cold (like in this video) give it longer so the oil can warm up and thin out so it isnt the consistency of maple syrup. Get your shit together bro
@@rialbb the temperature aspect is the LEAST important part of the comment/idea. You should try and focus on the MOST important part... revving an engine with ZERO oil in the cylinders and on the crank and rods (where there are bearings).... this action creates much higher amounts of friction. How many engines have you rebuilt? How many of them were due to heat and lack of oiling? All of this compounded with the fact that a colder temperature (yes, even 40 degrees farenheit) makes it so the oil is thicker and slower to warm up/thin out, and get into those small tolerances and lubricate/cool the bearings. Your comment about negative whatever temperature is just silly. Hopefully u learned something here..
1st off that's just a super 10 not a outlaw they look more or less like a glasspack and are almost straight pipe 2 the resonators on the one defeat the purpose of running a small loud exhaust because the muffler is under the cab ie your drone is the muffler if you keep resonators free up the exhaust and run something with growl but not a scream like a 40 series or something but best sound is full exhaust no resonators or resonator tips to clean up the tone delete ur resonators people and only run 2 cats if needed or if possible highflow 3 inch 1 cat.

Not a good apples to apples comparison at all. 2 different generation of Trucks. One has long tubes with cobbled up non-factory cats and the has the stock exhaust with just a super 10 muffler. On the flow master I would have removed the rear resonators too
adidas1984x I was thinking the same thing
would that make it a lot louder?
the Borla set up must be a lot more expensive with the headers and high flow cats
Brian D. The resonator is for 4 cylinder mode so it doesn’t sound like a helicopter but if you get it turned off on a tune you don’t need them
