Here's an interesting thing about her critical talent: If we assume that critting the first or second hit of verbana is not ideal as it knocks enemies away before the third hit can land, and that we WANT to crit the third hit, having too high of a critical hit rate is actually bad. This is because every time the critical rate is increased there's a lower chance of even hitting the third hit in the first place. So with those assumptions if you want to absolutely MINMAX the chance of critting the third hit, the ideal critical rate is actually exactly 1/3, or 33% as the closest possible ingame value. So in a sense only levelling her critical talent to level 8 is arguably optimal if the third hit is all you care about. But also, the difference here is percentages of percents so in practical cases maxing out the critical talent is probably still optimal lol. But if you wanna save that last bit of NP you could just level the talent to 8 and still feel good about it. A bunch of disclaimers: I did the math on a phone calculator cos im out rn, so if any calcs are wrong im sorry. I also dont know what critical chance maximises the average dps assuming enemies are knocked back by hit 1 and hit 2 crits, I'll need a spreadsheet to calculate that. Maybe I'll do that when I get home though. Also, I see the musashi tease at the end, can't wait for that 👀 Anyways I'm gonna go eat yogurt now for... uhh... reasons.

And this is with the assumption that her landing her first hits is a bad thing to begin with, which is likely not the case against Sir Metal Seal given its high endurance.
That's an interesting calculation, except you forgot one important thing: Verbena can 1hko most metal enemies, leaving a few candidates including endgame SMH, Metal Seal and Metal Cyclone. The Seal is super bulky so higher crit chance always benefits you, so we only have the other two left which, in my opinion, are very easy to counter. therefore, imo, this talent do not have any drawbacks if you can afford it

I think you messed up with the crit talent chances; unlocking the talent gives it +25% crit chance, further upgrades make it have a total crit rate of 60% per hit.
By the looks of it, no. She's better than before but it doesn't fix the main problem which is each hit does a different amount of damage. Good for metal peons, but the heavier metals are still a problem for her.
Biggest problem with verbana is her cooldown in my opinion, in fact most crit units go this way when they dont crit, and ponos know this is a design problem with metal, rng in this game is not fun
