Tried this board out last weekend back in New England, 130 lbs on a 157 and it was so awesome, you should have seen how fast I went Angry!
I bought it this week and I can't wait to test it this winter, started snowboarding last winter and wanted to upgrade to this one for 2 reasons, I think it's magnificent and I wanted a softer board then what I have right now, can't tell which one I have bc nothing is written on it beside Firefly, it's blue with mountains and trees on it.
Picked up this board last winter and it is very fun and poppy. I ride this when the homies want to hang out in the park most of the day.
Loved this review I’ve been thinking about it for a bit but I think this seals the deal I need to try an ultrafear
I thought about buying this for so long. horroracope and doa is my boards but I want to try something even more with camber to carve and pop with. I'm glad they went more full camber with it, because it was too similar to the two I have. Only struggle I have is bindings and boots, most are too stiff for me
Would you recommend this board over the disaster plus for more all mountain riding? Thanks
I wouldn't recommend either of them for that.
How would you compare these to the scotty pro? Does the base and cheaper construction make a noticeable difference on the ultrafear Rev compared to the scott pros?
Hey angry, which do you think has a better press on rails? Spring break twin or the ultrafear? Really torn between the two boards for my daily park/groomer board? Thanks
Ultrafear is softer and locks in better for effortless presses. SB Twin is better all arounder though.
New edit is sweet but another request to reinstate the size that was tested in future vids :) this one’s whatever, but I always paid attention to that for the weirder shapes especially
Hey Avran, I’m an advanced rider but haven’t really done much in the park. I’m really interested in learning some butters, jibbing, and small/medium jumps. Would this be a good option as a starter park board or do you think I should look at something different?
It's a solid choice.
Thanks! I already have a set of Ride C-6s, would those work or is that too much binding for this board?
Slap them on there and go ride.
very curious about this ultrafear reverse that just came out. trad camber is the only way to go IMO but capita went nuts this year with their lineup.
Review coming soon.
Thanks Avran. Keep up the good work
I asked yesterday about a 2024 Disaster size for me (180lbs, size 9 boot) and you said 154, would a 157 work and also help it be more stable for more of a 50/60 all mountain/park board? Or should I just get this Ultrafear or a Resort Twin lol
Hey angry! Thanks for your reviews, really appreciate it. For freestyle on the piste (butters, 180/360, sidehits) and a bit of park, would you pick the ultrafear or indoor survival? I don’t really understand the biggest differences between these two 😄
Thank you so much!
Flex
@@AngrySnowboarderon the website of Capita they claim that ultrafear is 5.5 flex and indoor survival got 5.. and I don’t get it, in your review the ultrafear is described as the softer board
Marketing is a hell of a drug.
One short question. I ride the burton custom camber and want something with similar pop and stability (as far as possible) but a bit softer. Is the indoor survival a good choice?
Maybe
what size do you recommend - 90 kg 🙈 thank you very much 😊
55 or 57 depending on how playful you want it to be.
Hey Angry, would You choose this one or last year’s Scott Stevens Pro for butters, nose rolls, side hits and over all fun freestyle ride and being able to explore the mountain? Does the ultrafear overlap a lot with last year’s Indoor Surv?
Very little overlap with the Indoor. I'd go with whatever you can get a better deal on.
I am between this and DWD Wizard stick for all around play. (Side hits, goormer rips, some rails and medium kickers) How do you think the two compare?
Wizard stick is closer to the Indoor Survival than this.
How is this vs the 2024 DOA? Torn between the two for an all mountain deck that can hold speed, but rip little side hits/180s/butters. On a horrorscope rn, want something a little stiffer with camber
It's a lot softer in the tips. Have you looked at an Indoor Survival?
I haven’t, but also seems similar to the SB resort twin which I’m also eyeing. Do you have a preference between the two?
SB Twin.
@@AngrySnowboarder thank you dude!! was initially leaning DOA, but just ordered the SB
2:02 But Avran, what SHOULD I worry about?
Our moderator Billy Ray Valentine cucking your wife. He's been on one lately.
Can’t decide between this board and the indoor survival. I’m leaning more on the ultra fear for the jib side of things, but I still need a board that’s able to be taken to the larger features
I have both of them and I want to say, they are really great. If you like freestyle more, take Ultrafear, if you like speed and carving, take Indoor. They can take any feature you can throw at them.
@@bebespursit’s interesting that you have both. Can you give an example of where you prefer one board above the other? My current board is free ride, med/stiff and good for jumps but can’t butter or jib on it. Tempted by one of these two boards. What size jumps (ft/m) would you say the ultrafear starts to lose to the indoor survival?
@@JonGPxl If you like to jib and butter, it's easier on Ulrafear. Because it's low camber between the legs and flat outside the bindings. Outdoor is almost full camber. But I think they are comparable on a jumps. And they can take almost all of them. If you need to take the biggest jumps, you need Outsiders. But it's even harder to butter with it (stiffness 6 and full camber). I has 155w Ultrafear, and 158W Indoor. But I sold Ultrafear, because it's a bit small for me. If it will come next year in 158-159W I'll sell indoor and buy it again.
@@bebespurs thanks! Didn’t realise I replied to you on another video :P appreciate it.
Woa! Not what i was expecting. I wonder if they made it softer from when they first released the cambered version. I have a 55 21/22 Ultrafear to replace my first year 54 Asymulator and it felt just as stiff (if not stiffer) than the Assymulator. I assumed the Assym was just broken in a bit but still seemed much stiffer than you described. Do you happen to know if they actually made it softer compared to the first year of camber?
How does it compare to the asymukator apart from being a asym? Similar turning experience?
@@timhunt7155 Not at all. The asym makes the turning completely different let alone the UF has just a radial side cut (which I believe was what threw me off the first time on it). The asym allowed more nimbleness and energetic turning options. I still really like the UF though. It just took some getting used to after riding the asym and my other boards.
@@michaeltrombatore123 yeah I loved the asymulator, was hoping for a mid wide version. Super doa is pretty good though. Not quite as good though
Just got one, love it
Hi Avran, how’s the flex compared to the Sleepwalker?
Which one better for park laps in Europe? Thanks
Pretty similar honestly, Sleepwalker is a little stiffer in the tips. The one you're riding in Europe.
I guess you would pick the capita because of the better sidecut. I don’t know what to do because there is some notable price difference
I see you no longer mention the size you rode?
maybe he forgot! cut the man some slack ffs
@@skankwave5245 OK whatever you say
I believe l a 154 or 3
Is the 155w wide enough for size 13 boots?
I'm looking to buy a do it all board . Does this qualify?
What part of soft freestyle board did you get do it all from?
Just got mine In lookin fwd to shredding it this reason
I can’t decide between this and Jones Tweaker
Angry,
I need a true twin softer or mid flex board to fill a niche spot in my quiver, groomers and park to go slower and play and progress on jibs...I usually only ride camber or camber dominant boards...im looking at the dicey 156, this ultrafear camber 157, or artifact 156...which of those is going to be the funnest most poppy and make me happiest...open to other true twin softer flex boards of various profiles, (should i just get a party Mod?)...
Since you want camber I'd say the Artifact will fill the void you want.
So out of those three, which one would you be most stoked to ollie, and do flat tricks, jibs, and small medium jumps...
Artifact
Thank you sir, I appreciate the coomunication
Alright...its settled...Im getting a Rome party Mod 156
Nice Broa constrictor...real nice bro...
Sick that they dropped some small sizes in a wide!!!!
Unfortunately, Capitas wide should be another 5-10 mm.
Bring TJ please
Would you recommend this for jibing over the sleepwalker?
They’re both solid jib boards just ask yourself what kind of shape you want.
How come you dont post the board specs this year? Alot of places dont show them so your reviews were the go to for that stuff. Also appreciate know the size u rode because were similar sizes lol keep up the good work boys
How come you can’t go to their website and look for them yourself?
