different shapes and designs will give different sound signatures and shock absorption. A strong plastic, for example, is one way to prolong gearbox shell life and also avoid damage to the cylinder and cylinder head pad. POM is one of my favorite materials for tappet plates and piston heads.
@@DanielFreakinAwesome2 depends on the plastic and design. G&G piston heads shatter like it's their job, but Lonex POM piston heads withstand DSG builds.
@@diasf13 No, polymer is the proper term for what people typically call "plastic". "Plastic" actually refers to a material behavior. POM is a type of polymer. If you Google it, you will see the long name which it stands for.
i was waiting anxiously for this vid, and you didn't disappoint! awesome knowing it doesn't really matter which flat piston head i use now as long as i take the 2nd O-Ring out if it does have 2 O-Rings (thanks for that tip!).
04:40 I wouldn´t take off that small o-ring. It keeps the pistonhead more in center - otherwise the tooth of piston will eat the cylinder. Pic on my ig. Thx for that video. 👍
Off the top of my head ICS use flat piston heads not the silent/domed ones as standard. To be 100% on what parts you are going to get for a build. I would always suggest taking your gun apart to confirm what parts you plan to upgrade. This will show you what you need to get.
Hello ! Good video about piston heads. Do you know why I have lower FPS after changed to CNC specna arms piston head with bearing ? With the stock one i have at least 20m/s better speed. The cylinder head is tha same in the 2 options ... thanks
Could be a number of reasons. Might be that the new piston head is not providing as good airseal. Also make sure that it is running smoothly inside the cylinder when the gearbox is assembled. It could also be that the bearings that are on the inside of the piston that hold the piston head on are taking up less room inside the piston meaning the spring gets compressed less.
how much torque one does need to apply on the bottom screw to let the bearings free? piston head tight or just to ensure air seal between piston head and piston? ty
I'm my personal opinion, yes, I remove the very thin oring at the front because when it is in the cylinder I feel the piston is slightly tighter to move back and forth in the cylinder and I like everything to be smooth but still have perfect airseal. 😁
You can get piston heads at most Airsoft retailers, you should be able to identify the style you want from the pictures the shop has on their websites. There isn't a specific place I would say you have to buy them from.
A couple of gearboxes out there are more likely to crack at the front than others. Not due to the piston head used. I have used metal piston heads on hundreds of builds along with POM piston heads and have not found them to break gearboxes. If you Radius the front of your gearbox this can help extend the life of a shell as it disperses the impact force of the piston coming forward. Using unnecessarily strong springs is more likely to cause damage than the type of piston head.
@@adzzzysarmoury No, not really. Has slighly more info but wastes way more time. The title of the vid should be "I have 4 piston heads but they all look the same to me, idk"

thank you after coming back to the hobby after 10+years off its nice to get a guide into all the new parts and stuff. very helpful
Thanks for the feedback, it is much appreciated. Glad you found it useful. 😁

They also explode with hard springs lol

Thanks. This is exactly what I clicked on this video hoping to confirm, but luckily found in the comments!

Excellent!! I appreciate your input for content. 😁
I was looking at piston heads all day trying to figure out what’s the best and then I see this vid lol 😂
Excellent, hope it helped. 😁
Very much yes! @@adzzzysarmoury
Mate I can’t believe you haven’t got more subscribers. Learning loads ready to upgrade my aeg. Thanks 👍🏼
Thank you for the positive comment. Glad you are finding the content useful. 😁 Feel share to share the videos!! 😎
Love the way you do your tech videos! Super helpful and informative. Thank you for the information, cheers!
Only recently discovered your channel. Finally upto date on all vids 👍
Thanks I hope you have enjoyed watching. 😁
Thanks for informations dude, i'm starting upgrades and searching for knowledge on differents parts !
@@roroterreur38 excellent! Pleased you found it useful. And thanks for watching! 😎
I went ahead and did the maxx cylinder and piston head on my vcf m27 along with ceramic 8mm asg bearings in a retro arms billet gear box.
That rubber mushroom is not glued and could detach in some occasion and make a nasty problem.
Tips is glued it with superglue before installation
Good informative video! Idk what the other guy is so mad about but good job man
Appreciate your support!! 😎
Solid info! Thanks!
Great vid!
Thanks! 😎
Ez and great info, thanks!
can i also use gas gather type cylinder head for a flat type piston head? thank you
👍🏻👍🏻 Great info

nice video. what is the external diameter of the piston heads in this video please?
Good Info
Nice vid thanks. Q= Do ICS use standard cylinder heads, piston heads etc?

Hello sir, how to install this piston head to the piston.
what about boreups? arent they bigger in diameter and bigger to fit in a standart cylinder?
Bore up is to increase air volume slightly in your cylinder. Full kits cylinder kits are usually required.
Do you think someone with no experience could upgrade one of these?
I think have a go! The best way to learn and practice is to try. 😁

I'll check but I thint with that could do better FPS...

hello, one question, which is better piston with 14 or piston with 15 teeth
So in general just stick to single o ring piston heard instead of double, since we will remove the top one that it has?
I'm my personal opinion, yes, I remove the very thin oring at the front because when it is in the cylinder I feel the piston is slightly tighter to move back and forth in the cylinder and I like everything to be smooth but still have perfect airseal. 😁
Any chance there is a link to all 4?

Are these piston heads for pistol or rifle
These are for use in an AEG rifle.
I need a good tech who can help with my L85A3... I'm located in the UK

you have the material
Do the engineer testing
Give us data
You will have much more viwes
sub for nice tips use thin o ring on p226 xD
This video is useless. You didn't reveal any secrets, didn't mention pros/cons and use cases for each type of piston head.
Tf was that intro
Not mentioning sound or trigger response or ROF at all. Just delete the video, it's useless
It's more useful than this comment??

He titled the video about piston heads not “how to get better trigger response or rate of fire”
What a pointless video!
