Beyoncé is an R&B vocalist and always has been. The scales she uses, the riffs, the song choices - that’s what defines the genre. You can hear influences of blues and harmonic scales but she mostly plays with these notes to add flair.
Being from Houston, Texas does not by default make her music “country”. And never was her music more country than Taylor’s early records. So wow are you wrong.
